Giant Space Hamsters

Alright, I would like some help in homebrewing Giant Space Hamsters. Some backstory: my wizard is a busboy from the World Serpent Inn, hails originally from Dragonlance (never lived there), and is obsessed with Eberron's culture and technology. Then, he managed to get himself marooned on a backwater planet when he tried to take The Spelljammer. This means that the only beasts he has actually seen are the varieties of Giant Space Hamsters. Thus I submit to the community how would you create the different strains of GSHs, from the humble miniature GSH to the monstrous Tyrannohamstersaurus, destroyer of gnomes?
