Re: Resident Evil D20
So... yeah. There you go, folks. That's everything that I have on the subject of Resident Evil. I hope that you have all enjoyed reading this as much as I have enjoyed writing it.
As you may have read, I've been granted a reprieve, so I can stay for a bit longer. I'm glad that I can still contribute to this forums. This have been a great collective of brilliant ideas, & an even better sounding board for my own thoughts.
Does anyone have any critiques? Suggestions? Flames? I realize that, despite my knowledge of the games & the subsequent research, I still don't know everything, & I have been known to make mistakes. So if you see something wrong, or something that I missed, let me know. Fluff for monsters is in demand; anyone want to answer the call?

Re: Resident Evil D20
You know, now that you mention it, that is rather funny. So is the fact that the special ability is called "Flaming."
At any rate, accounting to my original Word doc, I first created the file on Thursday, April 19, 2007, 12:33:56 PM. That would be 3 months, 4 days, & about 2 hours ago. To be fair, I wrapped most of the work on the day before I started posting, which was July 5th.

Re: Resident Evil D20
By popular request, here's one more bonus creature. Behold, the Oven Man!
As you round the corner, you can hear the faint hiss of a gas line running below the floor. Suddenly, in a flash of fiery panic, a man cloaked in flames bursts forth from what appears to be a giant oven. He runs towards you, writhing & screaming, with his arms outstretched for your neck.

Re: Resident Evil D20
Quick Question on the Regenerators: You needed a Infrared Scope to shoot them effectivley. Are their any rules on that?
Also, The oven man should be so that he must be sprung from a sufficiently hot area (Like an Oven), as it has such a short lifespan.

Re: Resident Evil D20
1) I am currently working on an edit for the Regenerators. Stay tuned.
2) Oven Man can't live long as it is; his Flaming ability (Hahaha... Flaming) will kill him in an average of 2.2 minutes. Which is kinda long for him, anyway. I may edit his Fire Resistance to shorten his lifespan. He should only live for about a minute or so really. Unless you factor in how long he must have spent in the cooker before Leon showed up.
3) I added your fluff to the Merchant. You are duly credited in the EDIT line.Last edited by Zeta Kai; 2007-07-24 at 06:59 AM.

Re: Resident Evil D20
Those feats were chosen based on the assumption that the Oven Man was a normal, run-of-the-mill Ganado Village before somebody had the wild idea to inexplicably cram him in an industrial-sized oven. However, your feats are funnier & (oddly enough) make some sense.

I just watched my wife play Separate Ways. I don't remember that part, but I'll ask.
Korias: I edited the Regenerators. Check 'em out.

Re: Resident Evil D20
The regenerators look much more intimidating. Also, If your next to an Iron Maiden when it gets shot in a parasite, The spikes will puff out and hurt you. This only happens if its backed up against a wall though. Oh, and I made a spelling error in the fluff for Osmund Saddler: it should be Religious instead of Religios.

Re: Resident Evil D20
Huh.
Zeta, I came across something interesting. While playing RE2, I found that the Logo of the gunstore (The one where you can Hide in) is the same on Leon's Gun in RE4. Isnt that weird?

Re: Resident Evil D20
Also, I've noticed that in RE4, there are actually a few tiny little spiders that you can kill in the village. They are all in one building, somewhere in Chapter 1-1 or 1-2. They can't hurt you; they just walk around aimlessly. In my attempts to be supremely thorough, I've stated them, & they are included below:

Re: Resident Evil D20
Well, Ive shot it, Stabbed it, and grenaded it. So I dont know. I'm assuming its a failed regenerator, but it dies in one shot, so it could be HUNK...
I think its just a Mass of Plagas in a bag. But I'm probably wrong. I think Capcom put it in there to screw around with the players and scare them.

Re: Resident Evil D20
Hunk? What about Tofu?
Well, according to my stats, an Alpha/Tentacle Plaga has about 6HP on average. Not exactly a one-hit-kill with a knife, but close. Honestly, I don't know what the hell it is supposed to be. I suspect that it is an intentional enigma. Like tiny little Tom Bombadil, in a bag. It make just about as much sense, really.
Just PM me the fluff, & I'll add it to the critters & credit you. And thanks again for your assistance. I understand that you really only know RE4, but every little bit helps.

Re: Resident Evil D20
Korias has been kind enough to work on some of the descriptions. I'll be adding them when I have time. I may also add links to pictures; we'll see how my schedule fares.
As for a PDF; sorry, no. This was crafted in Word, & my computer is on the fritz, so Acrobat has to be reinstalled. If you just gotta have this, you can PM me your email address, & I'll send you the Word file.

Re: Resident Evil D20
Great stuff Zeta! My only gripe is that I'm now going to have to adapt it for D20 Modern...
It is a joyful thing indeed to hold intimate converse with a man after ones own heart, chatting without reserve about things of interest or the fleeting topics of the world; but such, alas, are few and far between.

*Thread Necromancy!*
As far as Fluff and descriptions goes, I do own RE4. I will pick up RE1 (Which I did) and other RE games to gather information on them. So far, the majority of the fluff is in the RE4 Creatures.
That, and I want to see this project completely fuffilled. Every Monster needs fulff.

Re: Resident Evil D20
The only thing I see missing is the Cow from RE: 4, the one in the farm at the beginning. If you attack it just right, it head-butts you, dealing massive damage. I assumed it was just an Urban legend, but when I made it too mad, it Headbutted me, doing all but a tiny Red sliver, nearly killing me. I was at full Hp, and I believe I even had 1 Max Hp Expansion.
