This doesn't make much sense to me, but it would be less work. If everyone feels ready to conclude at that time I'll say yes.. Otherwise, we'll go on a bit longer.

For the most part I got the event competitions up, so people should show up and compete.

Brutus I will send Lilybet and Tristan! I will let you rp Tristan since he's your potential ruler.

You know, if Lilybet goes to Nemeria with Tristan, that only leaves Calvin Blackhall to take the black throne of Bellarion. It will be the first time that a man has been allowed to take a seat of governance within the core Avonlean states. I do think the Blackhalls would want to maintain the title, man or no. It's really quite something.

Tristan will likely be put in place as sort of a temporary thing, since at the start of next round, Andarious' oldest child will be 12. He'll be a bit more than a Regent properly, but he probably won't be in it for the long run.

Not that that really matters, given the end is nigh!

Maybe.

Just so everyone's clear, ending E2 early won't bring the start of E3 forward from the new year, so if it ends in October there will be at least two months with no Empire game running. So whatever decision gets made about the end of E2, please do it on the merits of E2 itself and whether people still want to continue playing this game and have things they'd like to do in it, rather than because they think it'll make E3 start all the sooner. It looks to me like there are still a number of players who have an investment in this game at least sufficient to see out another couple of rounds, although I might be misreading the situation, and I don't want them to be left in limbo between games just for the sake of it.

It is likely there will be a number of changes to the rules for E3; precisely what all those changes will be is not yet known. Of course many of the broad features of the game will remain the same and it is likely the rules will be familiar to anyone who's played E1 or E2, but as with the transition between those games, things might be altered in one place which necessitate changes in another, and some things currently in the rules might not make it into E3 in their current form. There may (indeed, probably will) be some changes to the setting and map: again, the precise scope of these changes is still a long way from being confirmed. This (along with not wanting to overshadow the end of E2) is why I've been reluctant to tease or otherwise disclose too much information about plans for E3, because we're still at a stage where they could change substantially.

What all this is essentially to say is try not to get too excited at this stage about the next game, whether in terms of reusing ideas for certain rules-based actions or exploits in the new game, or developing races or regions. I don't want people to spend the next couple of months devising intricate plans for E3 which it finally transpires are fundamentally incompatible with the game that happens. I don't want to dampen any enthusiasm for the new game but equally I don't want to start out by having to crush anyone's dreams more than necessary.

No. Deploying troops always requires an action (though when defending, you can deploy troops to any number of regions using a single action). You do not get a defense roll if no troops are deployed.
