As she reaches Vilma, she realizes that she can't see Brother Jaume, who is 10' above her on the floor, and a burst wouldn't help him from her current position.

Winter starts up a different dramatic monologue, one which she uses when she is less giving courage ... but looking for her own.

R8T9.5: Overhearing what is needed, St. Dorn comes up the stairs (just off map behind Winter), and casts a golden glow on Winter's knife.

R8T9: The enemy concentrates, and three arcane bolts light Vilma up for 10 force. A little trickle of blood is seen from the eyes of the foe.

R10T24: Not planning to give up despite her so far light wounds, Vilma keeps attempting to club the fishlike being, but the tip of his morningstar is deflected by the tip of its trident. It gets a riposted that clatters off of Vilma's armor, and it seems like the enemy is getting tired as well.

R10T19: Brother Jaume's body really rallies as his ki gives him 6 healing! He sees the fishman focused on Vilma and stands, moves over to the banister by Winter, and drops down in her square, allowing himself to slide down the stairs some on the grease, ending up prone and out of danger or even sight of danger on the stairs between Winter and St. Dorn. He looks up at the two of them and smiles as if he just got the Olympic gold medal in gymnastics, even though his performance was more of nerve than talent.

R10T10: As Brother Jaume flops down the stairs beside her Winter smiles in a kindly manner, ending her prayer and slowly clutching the wlls lowers herself to beside Jaume. "I'll be back in a mere moment Vilma, keep holding it off." After that she kneels beside Jaume and strokes him on the cheek, "Not your time quite yet. My Mistress may want you, but not today!" With a prayer, a powerful positive pulse then precipitates over the prone priest for 16 healing. A quick check by Winter can tell that Brother Jaume is still only at about one-quarter total health.

R11T10: "Keep up the good work!" she shouts encouragingly to Vilma as she see's her friend hitting the creature before she turns back to Jaume. "You stay there, you are still bleeding, don't move anywhere" Resting her hands on the next most serious wound she channels more holy power into it, the wound sealing shut leaving only a faint red welt (7 healing). Still, Brother Jaume is still sporting plenty of other wounds.

R11T9: Perhaps because of Fishlips' high ground advantage does its trident thrust strike true against Vilma's hip for 6 + 6 electricity. A follow-up thrust and a bite are stopped by armor.

R12T9: Being on the floor whereas Vilma is on the stairs is very likely the crucial piece of the puzzle that gives Fishlips the leverage to drive its trident into Vilma's upper left arm for 12 + 2 electriity. As Vilma raises her shield reflexively high from the pain, Fishlips then stabs Vilma in the groin for 8 + 3 electricity. It bites at her, and very nearly got through Vilma's armor that time.

R13T24: Still paying attention to the fishy abomination, Vilma withdraws down the stairs. She tries to move carefully because of the slick, but she in heavy armor and shield, the bill comes dues. Vilma's foot goes flying out from under her and she lands where she started, Winter's shocked stance keeping Vilma from sliding down the stairs farther. Vilma is now prone at the mercy of the monster!

R13T19: Brother Jaume, you barely see around the corner of the stairs (you are on different maps), and you saw Vilma plotz. There are no "gaps" to move into, and Winter is ahead of you. What do you do?

R13T19: Winter, Brother Jaume inexplicably tried to grab you ... but you didn't know what he was doing or why and easily kept from being grappled.

R13T18: Winter shakes her head and shrugs off Jaume, a stern "No" a he grabs hold of her. She tries to step forward, but Vilma is active and prone in the slick, and Winter is not able to occupy that same area .. only move past it. She stays where she is for now.

R13T9: Gleefully, the monster puts more power behind its strike and slams its trident down into the prone woman's belly for 11. The electric field had ended, but so does Vilma's movement. Then, its second strike crits Vilma in the chest for 16, the tines of which are heard clunking into the wooden stairs. When it retracts its trident, Vilma's chest rises limply upward for a bit before it extricates its weapon, a cruel smile on playing on its face. The blood coming from Vilma is that of liquid leaving an inanimate bag, none of it pushed out through any arterial action, for the heart is stopped. Worse, something about having killed Vilma seems to reinvigorate it somehow.

R14T18: Winter looks on in horror at the brutal execution of Vilma, guilt streaking through her as she replays all the different actions she could have taken to pull Vilma to safely earlier. Then rage clouds her vision and she steps up, steeling herself as she uses Vilma's body for stable footing and lunges savagely at the vile monster, missing.

R14T9: Fishlips has such a mess of things magically, though, as again it fails to concentrate on a magical effect with Winter's ferocity in his face.

R16T18: Winter grins at Kris, grateful for the support even though it wasn't successful. She looks up and around the bannister at Fishlips and shakes her head, "There can be no mercy for ....." And here for a second, likely choking over the anguish of the death of Vilma, she wasn't even able to finish that sentence. She gathers her composure through seething teeth and hisses, "Only your death will slake Pharasma and give company to our friend you sent to the Boneyard!"

She advances up the stairs to the top and stabs again even as Fishlips goes to parry. It's a wild stab that Fishlips easily deflects before making a riposte ... but that attack is so hysterically bad that it ends up being distracted by the electricity going up and down its own weapon!

R16T9: Fishlips thrusts at Winter and misses, then opens the external door and steps outside. In doing so, while not a bright, sunny day outside, some light comes into the upper room. This is easily noted by those downstairs who see the increase in indirect outdoor light.

R16T8: Ms. Wrentz hustles to get to the point right before the slick. St. Dorn calls up, "Status!"

R17T18: Winter snarls a most unseemly curse under her breath as the enemy darts away. A more audible ”No you don’t” follows as she darts to the door seeking to catch the murderer and run him through on her blade, but only cutting into one layer of magical protection before being stopped by the second.

R17T16: St. Dorn carefully and slowly makes it up the stairs and past the slicked areas. He gets out the door and tries to be acrobatic but Fishlips is too canny and stabs St. Dorn in the chest with its trident for 5 mod + 1 electricity. St. Dorn taps Winter's shoulder really quickly to look at ..... something ... that is right next to where St. Dorn ends up. "What in the Forge's locker is that?!"

R17T9: The electric effect on Fishlips' trident ends. He stabs Winter in the belly for 8, and misses with its next attack before it steps back a few feet.

R17T8: Ms. Wrentz very carefully makes her way to the top of the stairs.

R17T5: What seemed to Winter to be a puddle or glistening rock suddenly lashes out at St. Dorn with a pseudopod, but the spry older man ducks out of the way.

R19T18: Seeing the fish-like creature retreating and the pudding not moving emboldens the cleric (who fully heals again) as she continues on the offensive trying to fell this beast that seems like it won’t die! But her dagger skips off of its outer force layer.

R19T16: St. Dorn calls on Torag to aid him in battle and then steps forward to the ooze.

R19T14: Remembering a fight from earlier, and assuming that the now-christened "battle cleric Klaczka" needs help, she comes upstairs and outside up behind Winter. Calling on Calistria to aid the changeling woman to avenge the death of her sister, she casts a spell on her fellow sister of the cloth, removing the blocked chi that had Winter's mind in a light fog (2 WIS healed).

R19T9: Fishlips stabs Winter in the left knee for 6. The electricity doesn't harm her at all. He steps away from her.
