thank giant!
I can't tell what the three dudes in the last panel are - maybe different (non-clerical?) spell-castersLast edited by endiku; 2016-11-15 at 02:27 PM.

Re: OOTS #1059 - The Discussion Thread
Thanks, Giant!
Ugh...this one actually made me say, "Uh-oh..." out loud at work.
And what's going on with Belkar??
Also, I have to say: nice to see an extend Haley/V scene.

Re: OOTS #1059 - The Discussion Thread
I think the phrasing implies that there are spellcasters from other races about to attack the ship.

With such a dramatic reveal, you'd think that giant Cleric took a level or two in Bard.

Man... how much hp does Haley have?
I know she drank a heal potion but I can't imagine she's doing well.
Plus; will Belkar come in to save the day?Last edited by chy03001; 2016-11-15 at 02:48 PM.

Ohh... That's less good.
A devastatingly clever trap.
On the plus side it means Elan and the fighter might get a chance to join the fun."If it lives it can be killed.
If it is dead it can be eaten."

Re: OOTS #1059 - The Discussion Thread
Very nice comic title! I'll leave it at that.
I'll throw my 2 cents in on those 3 figures on the hill being non-Frost Giant spell casters. Guess we'll find out soon enough.
As to Belkar, he fell behind. Without a Fly Spell he can only move a fraction as fast as H&V--and even slower than that when you consider all the uphill and downhill he has to do. At best he'll show up in time to help H&V, but it's up to Roy and Elan to save the Mechane.

Re: OOTS #1059 - The Discussion Thread
So that infernal bat was really only bait to get the the air force engaged? Very clever indeed.
I don't see Belkar helping out here as he is probably falling behind the Mechane quite a bit (and having lots of fun killing Frost Giants while doing so). If it is in fact fighters that are going to attack then Roy and Elan might get to shine a bit.
If the ship gets attacked directly that might mean Andi's panic might play a role sooner rather than later though.
Quite intrigued...

Re: OOTS #1059 - The Discussion Thread
Ruh-roh!
And now can everyone finally stop arguing about whether or not the giants are clerics despite the fact that both V and Haley identified them as clerics)? The giantess with a holy symbol clearly just used dispel magic and referred to the bearded one as the Elder, meaning that she and the other fellow are likely lower ranking priests.
Now we can get back to the main issue of whether the faint figures in the background have greenish-toned skin because of their distance and the effect of the fog, or because they're another type of giant.
EDIT: Thinking about it, I sincerely hope they don't have greenish skin because IIRC Storm Giants can have greenish skin/hair and I don't know if Roy and Elan could take 1 Storm Giant, let alone 3. [They probably aren't storm giants because that doesn't make any sense, but you never know]

Re: OOTS #1059 - The Discussion Thread
Jeez, how many of these giants are there? Assuming the Order and the crew of the Mechane get through this, Thrym's followers are going to be severely depopulated on the Northern Continent.
I suspect that the frost giants waiting on the mountain are barbarians who are either there to demolish the balloon or drop onto the deck and wreak havoc. Zooming in, there are three and they all seem to be wielding battle-axes, so probably Roy and Elan can handle one each while the crew tackles the third and V and Haley try to high-tail it back with Belkar in tow. Casualties seem likely to ensue, which would only worsen the looming mutiny situation on board.
On another note, I play a cleric in 5e and Spiritual Weapon is all kinds of awesome.
