[PEACH] Spell families
Would Polymorph and the summon line of spells be more user friendly if they were split up? Bascially, instead of learning SM3, a wizard could learn summon dire badger, with summon hippogriff being a completely different spell. Possibly include the option of casting from a higher level slot to get more of them by default. Similarly with polymorph, you would pick one form when you learn the spell. Maybe introduce a feat that allows you to get two spells of the same family where you would usually know one, and decide which you actually cast when you cast it.
The thinking is to cull some of the vesatility while still leaving the power, and limit book rummaging at game time. Any thoughts?I play dwarf mode: Play to win, never be sober, and always die horribly despite everyone's best efforts (DM included).

Summon Monster N is probably fine as-is for most purposes, but the polymorph-style spells might warrant the nerf if and only if your players are the type to abuse them horrifically, though in that case you might consider a different nerf because one form is all they're likely to need anyway.
