Re: OOTS #1060 - The Discussion Thread
Gotta love Elan. Just how he knows to set his squee aside for a more appropriate time.

Re: OOTS #1060 - The Discussion Thread
I get the impression these aren't run-of-the-mill frost giants. (In as much as there are run-of-the-mill giants.) They're not wearing armour like their compatriots and Roy didn't one-shot the wounded giant.

One fighter vs 2 frost giants? Hmm.... Wonder if these two have any class levels?

Re: OOTS #1060 - The Discussion Thread
I knew that it would have been barbarians/warriors! Was thinking they would have gone rock throwing siege, but boarding works awesomely!
And Elan is showing the true strength of a spontaneous caster..... the minor utility spells the prepared ones can't bother preparing in advance
And I shall await the squee with amusement.Summer Job has started, and eats a lot of time, particularly on weekends. Replies my be delayed.

Re: OOTS #1060 - The Discussion Thread
For some reason, seeing those crew members die was shocking for me. I don't think they do a lot of dying in Julio's adventures, what with their classic adventure comic book tone. I bet that won't make Bandana more popular with her crew.

Re: OOTS #1060 - The Discussion Thread
That female Giant so far seems smarter than I'd give an average fighter Giant credit for. Notice the male Giant hadn't even spoken yet, though it may just be coincidence.
Poor blonde-Haley, she'll always be in our hearts.

I wonder where the third one got to? Guess we're going to find out soon.

Hmmm... What about the third one, could that be a Jarl? I expect this to go a lot worse before it gets better!

I think the crewmembers dying is going to be the tipping point for the coming Andi/Bandana confrontation.

Bandana really isn't going be winning any points for this adventure having lost 3 crew members :(

First off, the KRRNK looks beautiful Giant!
Do we know the name of the crew member at the helm right now?

Re: OOTS #1060 - The Discussion Thread
Elan outthought Roy - this is a sign of the Apocalypse, OotS-style.
And unless those are improved frost giants, Roy is going to kill them very quickly.
133 HP each when Roy is cranking out 3x(7 + 10 + 2xPower Attack) a round won't last long.
Also, brave crew members, are brave. And dead. Alchemist's fire is a risk choice aboard a ship ...
EDIT:
Base frost giants get Cleave and Great Cleave. Also Improved Sunder. It would really be a bad thing if Roy's sword was broken ...Last edited by Shining Wrath; 2016-12-05 at 03:12 PM.

Re: OOTS #1060 - The Discussion Thread
Those are some epic looking frost giants! I almost don't want them to die. ^_^
And congratulations Elan, I'm very proud of you.
(Also proud of Roy for not discounting Elan, twice!)
EDIT:
Pretty sure the main cleric dude on the ground is the Jarl of this clan (assuming OOTS world has Jarls).
The 3rd one was another axe-wielder with a beard. So maybe an elder barbarian that's meant to be the backup? Or some sort of shaman.

Wow. Elan just made a better tactical decision than Roy. And Roy acknowledged it. The end must be nigh.

Re: OOTS #1060 - The Discussion Thread
I think it really says something about how crazy/awesome high level characters like the Order are that the response to two 15 foot tall warriors jumping on the ship is, "Stay back, I've got this"

Re: OOTS #1060 - The Discussion Thread
This is why I love the Mending spell. Sure, it may not have a real combat application, or be needed all that often, but when you need it, you'll be thankful you didn't listen to all those nay-sayers.

Re: OOTS #1060 - The Discussion Thread
Story is the main purpose for Lawfuls.
Assuming they aren't too annoying and/or self-righteous about it.
It truly makes me sad though that there's no hope to befriend the cool looking giants. Why must they be bent on the protagonists destruction? Don't they know that's a death sentence?

I wonder if the Giant actually intended to damage the balloon or was just slowing her fall.

Re: OOTS #1060 - The Discussion Thread
I'm excited at the generally good team dynamics there. Roy acknowledging Elan, Elan thinking independently and making a good decision. This bodes well for the Order's ultimate success, though perhaps poorly for the Giant's options in making jokes.
