I did a couple quick drawings this week, as well. They're pretty much coloured sketches, so the linework isn't perfect and some of the details are a bit off, but compared to vector art templates I doubt I have to worry about how clean they look.

Inter-party dynamics can get messy very quickly,
so I'm glad to see Pellan at least has some reason to talk to them.
    Even a selfish one.
But what I'm wondering at now is what exactly he wants from the rest of them.
Not much they can do to prevent rust, so I'd love to hear other ideas.
Or just to read what you think in general. I get lonesome.
Thank you for enjoying the comment, and I hope you have a nice time!

One of the most difficult things so far has been finding ways to explain or show how the magic works without flying hard into the meanest exposition dump this side of a Hollywood blockbuster. I'll reserve that kind of thing for when there's no other less awkward way to do it. I feel like a comic should be able to speak for itself. How well I've managed that, I don't know.

That said, I absolutely know exactly how her magic functions, why it functions, and some basic metaphysics behind it that even the characters don't know. I doubt even half of that will make it into the comic, but the least I can do is leave you folks with the kind of understanding an ordinary person might have in-universe.

Also, hello to you lurkers, who keep popping up to surprise me! Always nice to see new (and returning old) faces in the thread.

Amazing comic, but I have one, minuscule nitpick. Pellan's obviously a warrior from moderate prestige, but in recent years has divorced his house and banner. However, why did he scrub the paint from his armor, it'd be so much more effective to just paint over the coat with black, thus disguising and disfiguring the banners and symbols on his armor, whilst retaining paint's quality to slow the onset of rust. And honestly, I don't know what I'm looking for here, but given how you've thought about how magic works in depth, to the point of the metaphysics behind it, kinda makes me wonder a bit.

Scrubbing is cheaper than paint, and people who sell paint dislike skeletons?

And being a living skeleton in black armour has got to be the easiest way for people to assume you are evil that I have ever heard of.

Don't think Pellan meant that as "okay, you have two other dorks besides me so I can leave you". More like "okay, you have two other dorks besides me, so it's not going to be a real problem if I do leave you", maybe.

So we have one person who won't talk about his past, one who can't talk about her past, and one who will but no one wants to hear it because he's a loser.

The funny thing is, though, it's Cat's backstory that I'm most curious about. I'm still really intrigued by how this whole Storm thing works, to say nothing of the question as to whether she's so clueless sometimes is because she literally fell out of the sky.

    Now THIS.
    THIS
is what feels like the D&D party -I- know.
tension is always in the air, half of the party doesn't even get what the *** everybody else wants from their lives, no one bothers to communicate with each other except for the heartbroken and the ditzy optimist. everyone has their own interests, and want to take it in a different direction. Will they break the ditzy optimist, or will Cataletta manage to get under their skin? Will they get their priorities and expectations in order?

SO looking forward to it, If I am lucky, it might even offer insight towards handling my own dysfunctional parties :3
