As we've sorta been going over, I'm torn on to what extent Vis is actually an antagonist, to what extent he's just a jerk, and how much of his jerkiness is justified. But she is definitely going to wind up in the bad guy column, IMO.

Why so? Granted, she isn't nice, but we don't know what her deal is. There could be a reason why she is pissed off in particular, but our mute friend can't explain that.

If you are talking about this lady (I forgot her name) I feel like she isn't shady at all, actually. I get a sense that she's committed and loyal, given her dedication to order. She seems to earnestly believe that there was a murderer who posed a threat to an innocent person and is taking actions to prevent it.

She could just be misguided or been a victim of misdirection. We know nothing of the crime Ardelie commited and while she does seem like a nice person, it could have been something such as a honor killing for a reason a modern audience may not agree with. After all, she hasn't exactly been forthcoming with details to what could be a sympathetic or gullible ear.

Honestly, it seems like a reasonable gambit even if Vis is not reasonable, because he's unquestionably a huge Stormfallen elitist who seems more upset about Cat supposedly disgracing her station than actually upset at her specifically.

The more I see of Vis, the more I wonder how much his butt hurts. He's not even sitting properly for the court, which cannot mean good things for Pellan.

I don't think many people have said that he's being reasonable, but if you had some moron constantly chasing after urban legends, letting in dirty hobos, and bringing back undead you'd be pretty stressed out too.

Well, it does appear more like that it's because Pellan's an undead skeleton, not because "f*** you Cataletta and Ardelie". That's fair enough, I guess - honestly, I was expecting far worse.

On the other hand, I'm not sure how you defend yourself against the charge of being an undead skeleton. The "No, sir, I'm actually just very underfed" option is already off the table.

    You can always try.
At least it should buy you time to think up a proper defense.

Also, "This body is a thing that should not be"?
Strong words from the guy who looks like he's half smurf.
Maybe look into a mirror before saying stuff like that.

I mean, seriously, Pellan's appearance is far more natural than Vis'.
Deep inside we're all like him.

And a "affront against the divine"...
Well, if the gods don't like P's looks they don't have to watch him.
    I mean what's next?
    Missing tongues?
    Beards?
    Blue hair?

Still more unnatural than a skeleton.
    Plus it just looks unhealthy.

I mean sure, Pellan could do with a bit more meat on the ribs and maybe he could be a bit less thin-skinned, but otherwise he looks like a ordinary, healthy human being.
Okay, maybe his eyes are a bit concerning- kinda unusual looking -, but that's no reason to get mean.
I worry about the state of his inertal organs though...

Vys on the other hand? I don't even know where to start.
    Is his condition infectious?
Is it still spreading across his body?- It definitely affected his right eye after all.
More importantly is that glow radiation?
    Better keep your distance.

Besides, just cause he's a alien he doesn't have any deeper understanding of how things should be.
And even if he has some connection to whatever divine beings there are A) the fact that he and the others fell makes me think they might've been kicked out and B) even if not being divine doesn't mean you get to push innocent-ish if you stretch the word. Lots. mortals around.
