That's not what they meant, all it took was "you know she'll just reject you agin, yeah?" and he went from "The Flame has a new quest" back to depressed mode.

Funny story... I started work on today's comic when I checked the script and noticed I'd somehow accidentally messed up the number of panels a strip was supposed to have. It wasn't just a little, too, but by a significant enough degree that it's baffling it happened at all. I think at some point I must have intended this one to be two strips, but then forgot what I was doing half way through and just wrote one long, hard to separate script? This is a problem which, understandably, produces some ripples in my scripting documents I will need to address with some heavy rewrites.

The point is, no update today. I just thought this particular reason was strange and confusing enough to mention.

Luckily, I managed to spend some time fixing up the scripts. It does mean that I had to break down the scene considerably more than I originally accounted for, but that's fine since last chapter was a little shorter than I expected it to be anyway.

Yeah, I think Stormfallen outrank everybody except Stormfallen of a previous Falling.

Yup. And that the guard had to correct themself to "warrior" makes me think it's either "undead abomination" trouble again, or someone who knows more about Pellan's mysterious past or at least what's going on with him.
The way those two were whispering in #197 makes me think it's not just the undead thing.
Way too secretive to just be a repeat of Vis little tantrum.

Might be a rival though. Maybe the guards' boss has plans that don't need the kind of attention P's presence could bring.

Also, yes they are. The big twist is that "Cursed of Course" is actually a Drizzt fanfic and the Stormfallen are the Drow.
