I want to make a class feature that increases melee critical strike chance every time the player hits with a non-critical melee attack. For example:

crit range: 16-20

Critical attack hits!!

crit range: resets to 20 only.

How would you write this?

For each attack you make that hits a creature and isn't a critical, you gain +1 to your critical range. For example, you hit with two subsequent non-critical attacks, giving you a critical range of 18-20. This bonus resets to zero on a critical hit.

I think the MOBA Smite has an item that does just this. Either way I like it.
