Calling the mutiny for what it is. :)

A pity they lost so much gas, just a little more might have been enough to make it through!

The scouring of the Shire never happened. That's right. After reading books I, II, and III, I stopped reading when the One Ring was thrown into Mount Doom. The story ends there. Nothing worthwhile happened afterwards. Middle-Earth was saved.

    Andi.
    It's all about me.

    Proposition:
Andi, unlike Bandana who as Captain was totally task and mission oriented once they entered the moutains, is not fit to be captain. She gets wrapped up into drama and complaining -- rather than problem solving -- and by so doing failed in Captain 101 -- thinking ahead -- thus charting a course for "shoal waters/rocks."

    Discuss.

As we have now fully entered into
    Mutiny on the Mechane
we may a few strips hence get to see
    The Mechane Mutiny Court Martial
    which raises the following questions:

    Where are the strawberries?
Does Andi keep two ball bearings in her pocket that she'll hold in her hand and rub together when agitated?

Don't worry, everyone. I'm sure the brilliant Andi, who speaks for the crew, already has a solution to what only looks like the extremely straightforward and overt logistical problem that if you turn off the pass it means you aren't going through the pass. This is not actually her "someone needed to do something, so I did something!" argument being turned into an utter joke by her discarding it as soon as the problem is an actual problem rather than "Little Miss Junior Captain won't listen to me!"

To stop a person from flopping around, lash the rope under their arms and around the torso, Andi. You don't pull the arms back and tie their hands so they need assistance in getting free, once they wake up.

(Unless, of course, you don't want the person to get free because you've committed mutiny and are trying to pretend otherwise.)

The longer this story goes on, the more it resembles a collection of scrapbook moments of people being done in by their own stupidity. So basically Darwin Awards; the webcomic.

Even ignoring the hypocrisy about the age thing and the kinda specicist comment about (half)elves Andy is already doing worse than Bandana at the being captain thing.
I mean she has the job for under a minute and already managed to get the Mechane into (more) trouble.

Or pretty much most RPG campaigns without a DM that let's players reconsider some of their more rash actions.

What a terrible crew. The second in command should have been decided beforehand in case the captain is incapacitated and everyone should know who that is. Felix seems particularly indecisive. He should have either arrested Andi at sword point or agreed with the mutiny. As Andi as the new captain, she can't seem to make command decisions on the spot or know the officers with the appropriate knowledge. If you're going to overthrow the captain in the middle of a crisis, make sure you can deal with the crisis.

Oh well, looks like it's up to Roy to deal with the crisis.

it seems to me that her hair obscures her ears. Vaarsuvius's hair is tucked behind his/her ears, and Pompey's aren't short enough to cover his elven ear, so we see them.

It's quite possible that Andi is in fact Second. She's just utterly unsuited for it. And isn't Felix the fashion guy usually?

Felix just laid some cold steel on a frost giant. There's more to Felix than ensembles: pirate, eh?

    What a terrible crew.
That you can lay at Julio's feet, and I think that his Chaotic Neutral alignment would inform his not having laid out in much detail any command succession protocol.

I suspect the "you have to make an actual effort, you can't just expect the Mechane to hand you victory" thing extends to "there has to be a way you can make it, but if you don't take that way because of a mutiny, then it sucks to be you."
