Equipment for level 4 swash/dervish?

Starting up a new campaign, decided to play a Tiefling Dervish. Have everything all worked out except for equipment. I know what Weapon I'm using, but besides that, no idea.

I have 8000 GP to spend, magic items ARE allowed, but I can't spend more than 3000 on any one.

Well, might I suggest a +1 scimitar (or two), a ring of protection +1 might be useful. Too bad your DM won't allow 4000 gp, so you could buy +2 Gloves of Dex. +1 studded leather, or +1 mithral chain shirt (2250 gp), which is really useful if you wnt to bump up your Dex (+5 armor bonus max Dex bonus +6, AC penalty 0).
