Ego Cysts are alien parasites from the maddening Far Planes, interlopers in the Material Plane. Though in their natural form they are incorporeal, appearing as a pulsing violet luminescence with a single alien eye at its core, they seek to fuse with the inhabitants of the Material Plane, stealing their minds and bodies. When an Ego Cyst fuses with a creature, it becomes corporeal, taking on the form of a swollen tumor within the brain of the fused being. Ego Cysts are methodically malevolent, using their newfound bodies to spread fear and suffering.

Manifesting
An Ego Cyst manifests psionic powers as a 10th-level Egoist. A Ego Cyst receives 108 power points each day. The save DC of an Ego Cyst’s power is equal to 14 + the power’s level.

Typical Powers Known
1st–detect psionics, far hand, missive, thicken skin, vigor; 2nd–biofeedback, cloud mind, ego whip, id insinuation; 3rd–body adjustment, hustle, psionic blast, telekinetic thrust; 4th–aura sight, energy adaptation, power leech, psionic dimension door; 5th–adapt body, psionic plane shift, psionic true seeing, psychic crush.

Parasitic Fusion (Ps)
Whenever an Ego Cyst successfully damages a creature with its incorporeal touch attack, it may attempt to fuse with that creature. Unless that creature succeeds on a DC 19 Fortitude save, the Ego Cyst merges with it, as the fusion power. The Ego Cyst becomes corporeal when fused with another creature. The parasitic fusion is permanent; only the limited wish spell, the bend reality power, and similar effects can undo it. The challenge rating of a fused Ego Cyst, if encountered as a standalone encounter, is equal to that of a mixed pair of the Ego Cyst and the creature it is fused to. An Ego Cyst rarely uses this ability, as it cannot undo it, saving it only for when it encounters a particularly strong or powerful character.

Parasitic Leech (Ex)
A Ego Cyst can draw on the life force of a creature it has fused to in order to power its psionic abilities. As a swift action, a fused Ego Cyst can expend 5 hp to gain one of the following benefits. It cannot expend hp if that would bring it below its normal maximum hp.

• Gain 5 temporary pp, which last for 1 hour.
• Gain a +1 enhancement bonus to manifester level for 10 rounds
• Increase the DC of all powers by 1 for 10 rounds
