On a positive note, they won't have to worry about lift when that lady frost giant forces the airship to crash.

Well, there's two ways to rise. Get more gas, or drop some weight. I don't think chucking the giant overboard would help much, but it'd certainly be a start.

Ten gold says if they do that, Andi doesn't come up with the idea.

It's truly astonishing to me that Andi still hasn't crashed the ship. Though that may not last much longer.

Panel five: Aren't the ropes right behind Bandana's head the same ones that were cut in the previous strip? Elan rose swiftly to the occasion?

Also, she says fly though instead of fly through.

What can I say, except, you're welcome.

Andi seems dense enough(primarily in the head region) that they could possibly drop a lot of weight by throwing her overboard.

if they repaired the engines some they might get more lift, its too bad the Mechane doesnt have an engineer fixing it though

Why hasn't she called for help yet? I mean, I understand Roy and Elan are both pretty busy saving the ship, but would it really take that long for Roy to just say, throw a rock, and knock Andi unconscious?

I'm probably making this seem easier than it is, but still. Having competent leadership is also a very important problem that needs fixing. So, you know, Bandana, just YELL. They can hear you!

so can the rest of the crew, taking out Andi would only make the situation even more chaotic because then someone ELSE might try to take control, or worse 2 someone elses Bandana needs to do something to actually bring control back to her

Will someone on the crew just free Bandana? It can't be hard. And it's clear she's the only one talking sense.

The one positive outcome of the ship inevitably crashing is that it might finally knock some sense into Andi. I hope.

Yeah, like... Bandana is awake. Andi is more or less unarmed, while the crew is well equipped. And she's obviously incompetent. Theres no reason that Bandana shouldn't be back in charge again by now.

I can't help but feel that she hasn't dropped the wrench because she'll try to use it again at some point. And not to fix something.

If you've been surprised by this episode, either a) you're lying, or b) you haven't been paying attention for the past few strips.

She found a comfortable niche working on engines, under a leader who had the social skills and savvy to smooth over problems with sufficient pinache that Andi never noticed she is completely craptastic at everything that is not an engine.

A good leader can often figure out to gain an underling's strengths while mitigating their weaknesses. Bandanna might have eventually figured as much out with Andi, if only the crisis did not come so soon and unexpectedly.

not likely Andi was deliberately confrontational and insubordinate right from the start, cant properly use a subordinate taht refuses to respect you

Honestly, I'd love to see the look on Andromeda's face when she realizes that leading is more than giving orders and hitting things with a wrench.

Yes, I don't want to even humor her by using her preferred nickname. Did I stutter?

The Mechane looks like it is ballpark 30 seconds from collision. Can a quick full reverse port propeller rotate the Mechane quickly enough that the massive sideways cross section will act as an "air keel" and a high speed impact into the side of a mountain? A lot of implicit "ifs" there.

On the positive side, it looks like they will crash conveniently close to where the Greenhilt sword probably lies.

You're assuming she will realiz. in the real world, people like here are so delusional that they are never wrong. Even when their decisions cause death and destruction, they say, "I didn't do anything wrong!" If fired, they yell at their boss until rehired. When arrested, they refuse to believe it until they go free. They are the Steve Jobses of the world, reality-altering field in full effect.

That's a good point! If Roy had to go on a whole nother side quest just to get his sword back it would be a bit much...

It was meant to be lyrics from a song in the Moana movie. I find that use of commas best represents the flow of that particular line :)

And no, the previous strip. I'm talking about the ones the giant cut. They're between the crack and the ladder, and they're the only pair of ropes between the crack and the ladder on that side. Perhaps some super detective can determine if the rope Elan cut is being shown as whole again too though ;p
