Personally I would love it for such a plot in fiction to be solved in a good way that seldom happens in fiction, the child breaking off all contact with the parent and being happier for it. Of course she is still a minor so that is easier said than done, well maybe the court allows emancipation of minors.

Considering the Court's role in all of this, I think Annie's best bet would be to take up full residency in the Forest rather than trust the Court.

Or Annie and Tony to have a conversation on the issue. Yes there is the issue of ANnie being a minor, but it would be interesting if Tony has the backbone to sign off on this as the adult in this situation. Or the Dolans if a third party is needed.

She got back in contact with her dad, went to get Renardine back. After that, I believe this is the first that Tony has come back up as after that was dealing with Jeanne, Aluiya getting her name, and now this. So one could see a time skip as enough pssing. This isn't a sudden shift. Annie has been living with the fact that her father acts specifically different with her then anyone else for a while now.

Actually, Annie was still in denial here, just before Juliette and Arthur showed up.

Fair enough. I forgot about that one. It can still just be that she's trying to hold things together and Kat being friendly with Tony is the straw that breaks the camel's back.

Yes, I agree with the idea of a straw that breaks the camel's back. I had just added this to my comment when you posted:

The way I see it, though, is that if Annie was going to come out of her denial eventually, she would have to start acknowledging something and that could be pretty much anything Tony has been doing to her. Why not this? I don't think it's weirder than some of the other things that have happened in the story.

ADDED: Actually, I think you could argue that Annie's ability to remain in denial was starting to slip in the page I linked to. She seemed to need Kat's reassurance that her dinner with Tony would be a pleasant experience.

Hmm, this page makes me curious if Reynard has Potterverse-elf-style powers. More specifically, if Kat tells Rey not to forget something, is he suddenly able to remember something that he wouldn't otherwise be able to remember? Is there anything else that he couldn't do before that he would be capable of doing if Kat explicitly told him to?

I wonder how much effort it takes Annie to act friendly here. It's wasted effort, of course. That Coyote-pov chapter about Annie and Tony relationship was more meaningful than this.

While this forum is obviously free to anyone, is it productive to continue posting about how much you dislike the comic, especially when you've mentioned this stuff before?

No, we had one throwaway panel in the chapter where Kat mentioned that after three days working with Tony she was laughing at his jokes. That in no way explains why Kat, who once punched a psychopomp for being mean to Annie, has completely forgotten that Tony is a horrible parent.

Is she acting friendly or is she relieved? After all, Tony's behaving now the way she expects him to. The sexy nerd who could attract her mom away from Eglamore, the guy who can tell jokes so good Kat, who hates his guts, will laugh at: That's not her dad. The repressed, unemotional jerk who can't even smile at one of his own jokes: THAT'S Daddy dear!

Maybe a piece of machinery will fall on him...

I believe the intention is to extrapolate that if Tony is charming 1-on-1 to have someone fall in love with him, he's charming enough to earn forgiveness from someone who hates his guts.
