Re: Gunnerkrigg Court 7: Psychopomp and Circumstance
It’s the Tree of Might! Somebody get to the fruit before Turles can eat it!
Alternatively, it might end up being a giant tree monster. Not that that is better.Last edited by Giggling Ghast; 2018-03-22 at 01:24 AM.

Is there any chance that's the tree they were eating cherries off of when it was in quarantine back in chapter eight or whatever?

Nah, this is pretty clearly the tree arm that Robot had the one time.
Man this thing was full of outdated stuff.

Doesn't look like it. (Also a reminder that Tony is the worst.)
Looks more like this one.

Ok, so it looks like Ysengrim is bound by Line-of-sight for his tree-hopping.

How many years worth of callback are those? It's been a remarkable year in webcomics.

Re: Gunnerkrigg Court 7: Psychopomp and Circumstance
If Ysengrin is at Coyote level, they can say what they want, it's not going to matter.
Indeed, it might not be good for the dryad to attract any attention to herself at all. Ysengrin seems to have a 'Traitor!" view of Forest creatures who abide with the Court. He'd be able to act on those feelings now.

Re: Gunnerkrigg Court 7: Psychopomp and Circumstance
So far we haven't seen anything that would require Jeanne to be gone from guarding the river. I wonder why that was important for Coyote's plot?

Re: Gunnerkrigg Court 7: Psychopomp and Circumstance
Didn't Coyote give his word not to break the treaty? Now it's Ysengrin doing all the work, not Coyote. Even if he comes back after, hd was completely out of the picture throughout the assault.
While Jeanne probably wouldn't have been a problem for Coyote, she still may have been a problem for Ysengrin due to methods of attack.

Re: Gunnerkrigg Court 7: Psychopomp and Circumstance
Jeanne could kill psychopomps. I don't think anyone felt like trying his luck. It probably was the point of creating her.

Re: Gunnerkrigg Court 7: Psychopomp and Circumstance
Placing Jeanne at the river would be pointless if Coyote could destroy her with a wave of his paw. I think they would be stalemated.
Even his power has limits. When Jones threatened to take Annie out of the forest, she implied that Coyote couldn’t stop her.Last edited by Giggling Ghast; 2018-03-28 at 02:08 AM.

Re: Gunnerkrigg Court 7: Psychopomp and Circumstance
We'll see how this turns out, but it seems as though Coyote's causing plenty of chaos from afar without having needed to cross the bridge, and if these two giant trees come together to form a new bridge that the Forest creatures can cross then it doesn't seem like there was a need to get rid of Jeanne at all.

The end of what Son? The story? There is no end. There's just the point where the storytellers stop talking.

Re: Gunnerkrigg Court 7: Psychopomp and Circumstance
IIRC, there was a Formspring question where the author was asked who would win in a fight between Coyote and Jones. He answered "Coyote."
I'm curious what Ys wants with the robots. They don't seem like the kind of thing he'd like to use in his army.

Re: Gunnerkrigg Court 7: Psychopomp and Circumstance
And Eglamore doesn't show up, but pretty much everyone else does. Let's see, between Anja and Shadow: John? And it looks like Paz WASN'T in the building that went 'boom', so Ysengrin won't have to contend with a vengeful techno-god. At least, right now.

Re: Gunnerkrigg Court 7: Psychopomp and Circumstance
I think the last panel is just everyone noticing the robots that were near them suddenly change, not that they are all coming to where the seeds were. Shadow's presence suggests that even Robot is affected.

So far Ys done nothing horrible. He destroyed the ugly neon bridge and replacing it with a living tree trunk pretty one.
