I would have thought that wiith Jeanne gone, shadow people could have just crossed the river next to or under the bridge. If he rebuilds the bridge or closes the chasm, it probably isn't for their sake. It's probably for forest creatures who can't swim or fly.

It's terrible, but Smitty's just as bad. He can make Parley appear with his probability power - THIS is the time to use that, if they need to get Parley and Eglamore back ASAP.

Keep in mind, he might be able to make her appear if he tries hard enough, but he can't control the circumstances. If she and Eglamore are blipping back early because Eglamore has a sword sticking out of his chest and needs someone to kiss it and make it better, that's not going to help much in the current situation.

That's why Annie's going for the beacon. THAT will bring both of them within seconds, safely, and with the understanding that something really bad is happening.

Besides, Smitty may need to reserve his power for when they get there. Things appear to be going to pot rather rapidly; it may take some first class altering of probability to get them all out of this.

The point is if he uses his power, it will contrive a reason for parley to blip back. That reason probably involves her or eglamore being injured. It's better to wait for Annie to use her signal so they can be in fighting shape when they arrive

I'd also call this a good time to get Reynardine. He may not be in Coyote's weight class, but he's the closest they've got. He's also the breature/being/entity with the best chance of getting through to Ysenyote (which may not be that good, but it could be a necessary distraction).

That is also possibly, but Smitty (and I think a lot of people) would argue that the "someone is dying" risk is too high.

I had to look it up: Eglamore gives Annie the beacon when she visits the forest here. She actually ends up using it when Ysengrin attacks her here (Eglamore says he'll get her a new one).

Since the beacon is a teleport, it kind of makes sense that she wouldn't bring it when Eglamore is with Parley... except that she doesn't have any way to contact them. Dumb, Annie.

I think what's going on is the same as that scene in spider man 3, where a character is given the power to become everything they ever wanted to be. But what they don't realize is, they still don't know how. Ysengrin thinks he is such a fearsome villain, but he is just the same damaged dog with stolen (borrowed?) power.

In the beginning, I think that she was meant to be. She could do judo, she could speak Polish... Then it luckily got toned down and she turned into a more or less normal kid with huge problems in and out.

The Court is not helpless. They've been storing up a massive amount of Etheric power via whatever it is they're doing with the lake, they've been studying magic and Zimmy, this talk of the Omega Project shows they're up to something. They might be able to show Ysengrin how truly weak HE is. It would be REALLY irritating if the Court turned out to be the 'good guys' here, given the sliminess of their tactics.

Despite being warned about that, for Annie, going to the forest was just like crossing the street.
The forest side seemed so natural to her, she just took it for granted.

So I don't think it's about her being smart or stupid, it's closer to overconfidence.

Although I am also kind of excited to see a threat of this scope emerge. We'll finally be able to see what countermeasures the Court has in store, and how effective they are against a Coyote-level threat.

This all feels so surreal. The comic starts and seems to be building to something that will happen later. Then it happens now. Then you expect it to have consequences later but the consequencese begin now. Then the heroes run away and you expect there to be a massive war or fight or something coming but the fight is beginning now. And the villain just gets more and more absurd as it continues on. This feels very rushed and awkward to me. Still interested/excited to see what's going to happen but it's odd.

Clearly the 'flaw' in coyote's gift, much like how Renard kills the things he possesses, is that for all his strength nobody will take Ysengrin seriously.
