Very good strip. Bandanna gives a helluva speech. Also, grats on the fast updates.

Re: OOTS #1074 - The Discussion Thread
I just love Andromeda's expression in that last panel.
So appropriate. She should hope they can get over this.
I guess surrendering is a good start.

Re: OOTS #1074 - The Discussion Thread
Hm, I was expecting they were going to be trapped outside the pass, but looks like they might make it back to the pass after all?
Looks like Roy's sword was probably lost in the pass, rather than on the other side of the ridge, so that's good at least -- but they don't have any other reason to go down into the pass, so...The Order of the Stick death pool thread -- place your bets! (Yes, it's still ongoing and maintained.)

Elan looks like a pretty obvious target on that boulder.
Let's hope Roy is real "sticky"...

Re: OOTS #1074 - The Discussion Thread
All right, way to go Bandana! I think that speech was exactly what the crew needed to here and shows who's the real captain. And it does seem like Andi has performed a somewhat capable job engineering, though obviously not as a captain. It'll be really interesting to see what Bandana has to say to her, and if she can get them out of this mess.

Re: OOTS #1074 - The Discussion Thread
Way back in Book 4, when the Order was scattered, opposed and generally reduced to uselessness, they needed a dramatic turnaround. And the one who sounded a clarion call wasn't Roy, Haley or even Elan. It was one Belkar Bitterleaf, halfling ranger.
I think we just found that moment for this book.

That look...to me, that look says, "I'm going to give you an order now, and if the next two words out of your mouth aren't either 'yes ma'm!' or 'aye aye!' you're going over the side you IDIOT MUTINEER."
It doesn't matter what you CAN do--it matters what you WILL do.

Re: OOTS #1074 - The Discussion Thread
Yep. Andi like most bullies a coward at heart.
Sure, she'll passive aggressively trash talk, and then whack someone from behind, but when faced with even an unarmed Bandana facing her down it's insta-surrender time.
Also ABOUT DAMN TIME she's no longer in charge. FINALLY.
But why do I think she's about to pull a Karma Houdini and get off consequence free at the end of this?

And Roy uses the ultimate halfling/gnome technique, stabbing it in the knee.

I can't imagine Andi will get punished at this point, especially after Bandanna just finished saying that she has a job to do.
I predict Bandanna will be the one bending down and handing Andi her dropped wrench.Proud member of the DnD Illiterates.

Re: OOTS #1074 - The Discussion Thread
Wow, I'm loving how quickly the updates are coming!
In particular, reading Bandana's speech to the crew satisfied me in a way that I was not anticipating. Maybe it's the idea of the inverse of an 'inspiring speech' actually... well, inspiring the crew of the Mechane to set her free. I also saw a few genuine (hopeful?) smiles in that last panel. All in all, a nice little irony.Last edited by 3SecondCultist; 2017-05-29 at 02:01 PM.

What a pace! And the story too! I love how this worked out. Not too much bloodshed, and as a great captain, bandana seems to recognize Andi for what she is; a good engineer but no captain!

Re: OOTS #1074 - The Discussion Thread
He's sticky enough. The giantess knows at this point that he's got physical strength comparable to hers, and that if she tries to step past him he'll have a free shot at her hamstrings - her options at this point are "finish off the fighter first" or "lose the ability to walk and die soon after".

Called Bandana getting free.
Thus ends a spectacularly unsuccessful mutiny. This probably greatly reduces Andi's chances of snuffing it, but I still hope she gets kicked off the ship at the earliest opportunity.Assistant Treasurer of the Haley fan club

Re: OOTS #1074 - The Discussion Thread
I doubt it. Right now she needs a good engineer. She can't afford to thropw Andi overboard. "You do your job, Andi does hers and I do mine." That makes her intentions clear.
Her next words will be along the lines of "Back to your post, Chief Engineer. Pick up yer spanner.".
