Re: United Kingdom in the Playground Meetup - Xmas Party
I do indeed. No expansion though, but it's still awesome.
I now have a blog. Have a look if you wish. It contains those naughty profanities that you won't find here. If you like what you read send me a PM, or if you don't like it. I'd like to know how many people here read it.

Re: United Kingdom in the Playground Meetup - Xmas Party
Well, I've had zero response for my Dungeons and Dragons game for what ever reason so I've decided I will run one in a similar style to last time:
An Introduction to D&D Campaign for all ages and abilities.
PM me or mention in the thread if you'd like to join my game. It shouldn't take the whole day so they'll be time to do other games afterwards.Bearer of the Filing Cabinet of Many Things

Re: United Kingdom in the Playground Meetup - Xmas Party
I've got no internet at home anymore...
And I've not signed up to any games whatsoever yet. Panic! Also I'll be brining my little brother who has no forum account. We'll pretend he has one, invent a name and when you don't know who he is we'll pretend he has an avatar, "yeah, it's a man. With a sword."
Got to choose games. DD is a really good DM, I'd play his game but that pretty much what I do now every week since the first meet up.

Re: United Kingdom in the Playground Meetup - Xmas Party
Although Archonic mentioned that there was a spot available in his OotS game, I think I'll have to pass.
I'd rather play a few shorter games instead of a much longer one. Can't wait for MegaMunchkins...

Re: United Kingdom in the Playground Meetup - Xmas Party
You have an automatic invite, Glug, and I'd be pleased to have you and/or your brother in my game. I'm cooking up something good, running simulations all this week.

Re: United Kingdom in the Playground Meetup - Xmas Party
Ok, deposit paid on the room. I'll need to cofirm final numbers in a few weeks.
They're sending me buffet menus. The cheapest is £5.50 a head, I'll post what we'll get once I know plus some options.
They open at 12 and we can have the room all day until close. I've told them we don't need our own bar so it'll be like last time - pop upstairs for drinkies.
I guess I'm telling you all this so that you can pre-book travel and accomodation if you haven't already. You need to get to Birmingham New Street and from there get a local train to Barnt Green (costs less than £5) from where you can be picked up by a driver - likely me! That or drive to junction 4 of the M5 which is just a few minutes' drive from the venue. See my post on page 8 for addresses and hotels and stuff.
Questions, comments etc. welcome!

Re: United Kingdom in the Playground Meetup - Xmas Party
Hmm, so we have Zombies, Nuke War, Munchkin, D&D, Star Wars, StarCraft game thing, and OotS, right?
Will we need any more, or should that be enough?"I'm just going on motive and opportunity here and the fact that if the earth got swallowed by a black hole, I'd look suspiciously in your direction first."

Re: United Kingdom in the Playground Meetup - Xmas Party
Booked hotel room for myself and little brother.
I'm looking forward to seeing you all there. I'll be in the D&D game, which isn't the most sociable option but I'll try to do more activities as we almost assuredly drift away from any kind of schedule.

Re: United Kingdom in the Playground Meetup - Xmas Party
Travelodge on the M5. Wasn't the cheapest room I've ever booked but I think I know how to get there and it's got more than one bed. My plan is to travel to my hometown on Friday and then travel again on the Saturday morning. Would have been nice to party with you guys, or even drop in on my sexy nursefriends, maybe next time. Actually I'm in Birmingham with work during the week after the meetup so I'll do that then.
Oooh! Oooh! Ikki, PM the Giant and see if he can write a speech or something for you to read out on the day.

Re: United Kingdom in the Playground Meetup - Xmas Party
I'm afraid that once again I must back out of the meet up. I was banking on being paid by my new job. However I started after the cut off point for being paid that month. As a result I'll be paid the wednesday after the meet up. Sorry to be cancelling again. I'd really have liked to have gone. Sorry everyone.
I now have a blog. Have a look if you wish. It contains those naughty profanities that you won't find here. If you like what you read send me a PM, or if you don't like it. I'd like to know how many people here read it.

Re: United Kingdom in the Playground Meetup - Xmas Party
Archie: Chaz and I were thinking of going up to Brum on the Friday. You interested in that? If so, from what time can you be available on the Friday? Because I can tell you from experience that driving to Birmingham on a Friday afternoon/evening is a BAD IDEA unless you get an early start.
I have now used and read Friday often enough for it to not seem like a word any more. Stupid brain...
