I loved Roy reading between the lines and moving to shut Elan up before he did the same... out loud

Shouldn't there be a "dun-dun-dun" when the weapons drop? I would expect they will need them at some point in the not so distant future.

So yeah, in about two strips Andi's going to go "but dumping the weapons also dumped our fuel reserves and cast mass dispel magic on the stuff that keeps the ship afloat despite the many laws of physics being broken". Bandana will be incredulous and asked why Andi didn't say anything, and then Andi will say that Bandana said that everyone needed to shush and listen to the captain.

Shows that Andi doesn't really know the whole ship - possibly just the engine room. Whereas Bandanna knows the whole ship, and all its secrets.

Kind of sad they dropped the axe. At the very least, it's badass enough to make a great memento.

Also, they's some great art in this strip.

Excellent! The Mechane is full of cool features.

And Bandana handled the crew situation exactly as it should have been handled.

Nice work. They're probably going to need those balistas soon, but it was either them or the ship.

And yes, that silences all the "Roy totally knew what was going on" voices. Turns out Spot isn't a fighter class skill :)

Wonderful! Wonderful resolution to this part of the arc and great art to boot!

Only one loose end ... what about the sword? We need it.

Minor nitpick: It's " Aye Aye , Captain!" Not "Yes, Captain". Yes is what landlubbers say. "Aye aye" means "I understand and will comply".

The alternatives of "aye aye sir" and "yes sir" would allow any misunderstanding to be corrected at once. This might be a matter of life and death for a ship at sea.

Basically, it means that the speaker understands and will obey a direct order.
ETA: Points to Roy for being smart enough to recognize now is not the time to ask questions , to shut up and move on.

I am really satisfied all around with the way this has turned out.

The way she avoids providing the specifics - stressing that the issue has been dealt with, reminds me a little of the way O-Chul covers for Miko here:

    http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0663.html

she's avoids badmouthing her crew and Andi, just like O-Chul avoids "speaking ill of the dead".

Now there's professionalism: Bandana not telling tales on her own. Andi just learned more about the reality of being a Captain in the last two strips than she did in all the strips prior. Feel the burn, lass.

Naturally Elan would pick up on missed plot twists but Roy's got his eye on the ball.

You really are determined that Bandana is a bad captain and are wishing really, really hard that the strip will show something to corroborate that, aren't you?

I'd bet internet credibility or money but I'm sadly lacking in both. I will wager five hypothetical internet dollars that there's some kind of negative consequence to dropping the artillery beyond no longer having weapons, and that Andi was aware of it and Bandana was not. Possibly related to some kind of hotwiring Andi did since Julio Scoundrel set that up.

This whole mini-arc was an excellent showcase of Roy's increasing maturity, and why Julio chose Bandana as captain in his absence. Well done!

Haha, we've got the Elan face again. Well, sort of. And Roy is definitely speaking for me, and possibly for us all, when he says okay, cool, situation resolved, let us never speak of it again. Though I am concerned that he doesn't seem to worry about his sword.

It's possible her read something in Wrecan's Weapons of Legacy book about calling your weapon to you after losing it. Or that'll be next on his list of concerns.

Very well. You also mentioned "about two" strips, so we will reconvene on 1080 to determine the result.

To be clear, I am not distrustful of the idea that the lack of ballistas will make a future problem more pressing; just the bit where Andi knew about it in advance.

Huh, you're actually serious? I thought you had to be being sarcastic.

I will go further than Grey Wolf, and say that I will be amazed if there is ever an indication that dumping the weapons was the wrong decision. (There may, though I doubt even that, be some on-panel point at which having the weapons would be useful, but it will remain unambiguous that out of the valley where Andi trapped them without the weapons is superior to still trapped in the valley with the weapons, and that that was in fact the choice on offer.)
