I was hoping Roy would summon the sword with some kind of Ancestral Weapon power but Locate Object is also a distinct possibility

It's wonderful to see the team together after months being apart (in real world time). I've got to say that I agree with Belkar and understand his frustration with Roy. Roy definitely needs a back up weapon; even that big club he used long ago would be handy.

Blackwing is, as always, a delight. He always brings a huge smile to my face. For a long time he has been the primary source of humor in this comic, now that I think of it.

What if Roy didn´t lose his sword, but actually the Greenhilt´s sword abandoned his weilder for being spiritually imbalanced?

How many ranks on Craft (Leathersmith) to make a leash for that sword?
but just as some things can be right and useless at the same time, can’t something be wrong...and priceless?

I was also expecting some kind of ancestral "Recall Sword!" ability, because it would have been pretty useful for Roy in his critical fights thus far. But, hey, if he can tie a bit of leather thong around the pommel and his wrist, then hopefully the ancestral power can be something else without leaving Roy crippled in his next fight.

i'm sure it's just a coincidence, but i can't shake the feeling part of the reason Roy is seinding V to fly and grab the sword with locate object is because of threads like "please tell me we are not going to have to deal with roy getting the sword back again."

Personally i wouldn't care one way or annother. this does clean everything up nicely though, could see a timeskip occouring here to the exit of the pass without too much trouble.

Rich claims he doesn't read the forums too much anymore, so its more likely that he predicted this entirely reasonable response to Roy losing his sword for the umpteenth time well before he actually wrote it in.

What is this "upteenth" by the way? The only major time i can recall that Roy lost his sword for an extended period was during the starmetal quest that made it what it is now to begin with. Any other time the sword left his hand was mid-battle in a reasonably sized battlefeild and he was able to get it back fairly easily.

Of course, we did not actually see the female Frost Giant die, and she knew where the sword fell - and did not drop off the ship too far away.

We may yet have to deal with getting back the sword AND the wizard. Hopefully not.

Ah, you must be new. Because that's like 70% of Order of the Stick.

Not that that's a bad thing. It's good to have breaks in the action and allow for character development/interaction.

On one hand, it is true the giantess was not shown dying, n the other she was in a fight with Roy and then thrown off an air ship. While I don't doubt she survived, she probably isn't in great shape... V is a rather high level wizard... It depends on how many spell slots they spent going after the rest of the giants, but I don't think V would have to much trouble with a single frost giant. Even if she is a fan favorite.

Nah, the GIANT had x's for eyes. The GIANTESS merely had a disgruntled grimace.

Beautiful resolution to the encounter. Not everything has to be maximum drama. Love Belkar jeering Roy for losing his sword *again.* :)

Ahh, a good old banter update with lots of comedy. And always good to see Elan casting a useful spell. Although I'm a bit surprised that Roy is apparently at full health again, seeing as he didn't get healed by that mass cure.
