Re: OOC 50: Over The Hill
I also thought, when describing the shower block, 'If I was looking for a secret armoury, where wouldn't I look?', to which the answer was in the cistern of a toilet. Floors are kinda traditional for secret doors, though, but there's less places to hide a door than something small, like the buttons to open it.

Re: OOC 50: Over The Hill
Talking to some people on the IRC channel for the Nexus, it's been suggested that we set up a Discord. It's got some advantages over IRC, mostly that you don't need to be online to see what's being said; you can just log in whenever and see what's been going on. What does everyone think? How many people would use it?

Re: OOC 50: Over The Hill
Okay, the Discord is up! It's not much to look at right now, since I've never built a Discord server before, and I'm the only one in it, but if people use it and help out and such, I'm sure it'll be slightly less embarrassingly atrocious in no time!

Re: OOC 50: Over The Hill
G'day folks!
I'm off on holiday for the next week, so I won't be able to post much. I'll try and poke my head in once or twice to keep scenes I'm in ticking along, but I can't make any promises.
Sorry, see y'all in a week! Before you criticise someone, walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticise them, you'll be a mile away and you'll have their shoes.

Hey Celticbear? Xavouir's body is occupied by Anika, not Wenomir. Wenomir's in Anika's body. I just keep forgetting to use her font style and color.

Re: OOC 50: Over The Hill
This is a couple day's warning, but from Tuesday, I won't be posting for a week. I'll be AFK (Away From Kent), motoring around the Norfolk Broads at six miles an hour.
I will be back, however. So the scenes will be on pause, but not stopped.Terrowin Avatar by HappyTurtle. Much thanks!

Re: OOC 50: Over The Hill
I made an extra bonus post in Riverside as I had to edit out my post to Rein.
Turns out I misunderstood his post and this new post should be a better reaction to it. It includes a very important detail everyone in the scene might note however.
Also posted for the one scene everyone had reacted to already.

Re: OOC 50: Over The Hill
Riverside update
I want to do a TL;DR of everything going on since I figure it's really hard to keep track on at this point.
- The storm ended. The clouds, the rain, the thunder, the lighting, etc. are disappearing or petering out.
- There is a previously invisible demonic ship floating above Westside (in this post).
- The barrier blocking communication, etc. is now down.
- An large area around the eastside city hall got a glimpse of the warp (in this post).
- There is a huge golem-like creature destroying southside which caused that loud noise heard earlier (which wrecked most windows in the city).
- The Westside power plant just exploded (in this post).
- The empowering angel music can still be heard.
That should be all the major events going on right now, though a few of them happened a few round ago.
From now on, I will try to include these updates in the riverside thread so everyone can have a better grasp of what is going on in the city.

Re: OOC 50: Over The Hill
I have returned! From a far away land, about a hundred and fifty miles away! I saw herons, and swans, and mallards, and coot, and moorhen, and Canadian geese- but those I can all see in Kent, at least sometimes. I also saw grebes, which aren't in Kent, and Egyptian geese, which also aren't in Kent, and greylag geese which might be in places. And I saw an otter and kingfishers, which require luck or lots of planning to be seen in Kent.
But the otter was amazing; never seen one before. I also saw the Red Arrows for the first time, but they just flew over on their way to the Great Yarmouth airshow that took place over the weekend.Terrowin Avatar by HappyTurtle. Much thanks!

I would have posted in Outside by now but I'm pretty terrible at math and riddles so I'm not sure how to crack the keypad code.

Re: OOC 50: Over The Hill
I don't think bc56 has figured it out, either- though I did try nudging him (and Erasmus) in the right direction by suggesting he check his teeth. I didn't think it was that hard, if you keep track of what else is in the room.
I'm not good at maths, either. And riddles can be tricky; especially ones like this, which rely on a description of a place when it's the place that holds the clues.Terrowin Avatar by HappyTurtle. Much thanks!

Re: OOC 50: Over The Hill
I personally love puzzles and math, but this one's a bit of a stumper. With an RPG, there are an infinite number of possible paths, and few are right, but there are a finite number of objects to interact with in most puzzle video games.

Re: OOC 50: Over The Hill
Hi everyone! Just letting you all know that starting Sunday I’ll be out of the country on a trip and probably not posting much unless we get far more WiFi than I expect at hotels. Once that happens I’ll see you all in a few weeks.

Re: OOC 50: Over The Hill
Recaiden has it right. I wasn't suggesting teeth for teeth, but rather because I didn't know how else to suggest it to a dragon.
Enjoy, LDk! Enjoy your holiday and have fun out in the country, whatever country that may be, and if it's the UK, and the hotel is classier than a B&B, it should have some wifi. Only reason I didn't have wifi is because I was on a houseboat, whose modem was powered by a SIM card, floating around a few metres lower than the ground around us and therefore typically without any form of mobile phone signal. The good news is that the SIM card was powered by the same company as our mobiles, so we could check quite easily if we had wifi. Also, it was a holiday, which is an opportunity to abandon the usual routine.Terrowin Avatar by HappyTurtle. Much thanks!

Re: OOC 50: Over The Hill
Hey folks, I'm sure many of you have noticed how all avis from imgur are not working (and if you haven't, trust me you will once your local caches expire). The short story is that imgur is blocking outside linking from sites. Unless something changes, they are not a viable option for avatar hosting. So people need to host images elsewhere.
The first step is to get your image, though. Don't worry, even if you weren't hosting it yourself and have no contact with the person who is (shame on you), you can grab it. Simply right click the broken image box in your avi space and copy the url. Don't say open image in a new tab. Imgur will see that as coming from Giant and block it. Simply copy the url and paste it into a new tab manually. You should get the image for you to save.
Step two, find a new site to host. Sadly a lot of sites block outside linking the same way imgur now does. I'm trying out ImgBox and it looks to be doing the trick so far. I'm not going to host anything extensive on it, but a few avis should be fine. (Note that whatever url you get needs to be changed from https to http, because the validation Giant has on the avi field is dumb.) Hopefully this site doesn't go the way of some of the other sites, but it'll at least work for now.
I'm using a Google Drive solution for other images (signature, character sheets, thread OPs), but that doesn't work for avis due to the aforementioned avi field validation issues. (There's a trick to doing that as well that's not at all intuitive.)
We survived Photobucket being garbage, and we can survive this too. Soldier on. *salutes*

Re: OOC 50: Over The Hill
Has Fayyaad been in the men's shower block with Erasmus? If not, send him in on-screen. I have a clue idea maybe.
I'm glad it's a tricky riddle, but... It's trickier than I'd intended, and I'm not sure how to de-tricky it.Terrowin Avatar by HappyTurtle. Much thanks!

Re: OOC 50: Over The Hill
It's technically my turn in Seaside but if Nova is doing posts at the moment I'm fine being skipped.
