    I'd like purple.

Part of his background includes leaving town with an uncle who runs a caravan. Seems like an obvious hook, but could be a caravan under an associate or rival of his too.

    I'll take silver.

Also, I think I'll change to Grovski. Less jokes to be made about that name.

I know, right? I've never been part of a campaign where there were tryouts to qualify, can't help but be excited I made the cut ^_^

Oh great! The 1st roll of the game is a natural 1:
    Investigation or perception (1d20+3)[4]

Not that it means auto failure, but it usually amounts to being less than successful.

I guess my luck can only improves from here, or remain horrible.

Something I forgot the mention: when I run games in person, checks only count if I ask for them, that way the players are more focused on what they want their characters to do rather than what checks they want to make. I haven't run a PBP game since implementing that, so I think the way we'll do that is I'll just roll checks if I decide you need one.

Fortunately, you still benefit form passive perception.

Cool, and good to know. It will prevent a lot of guessing about whether a roll is needed.

I usually focus on role playing, not roll playing, and only include rolls if I think they might be needed to prevent slowing down the game by having the DM ask for them after such posts. But I'm on board with you doing them unless needed (like in combat and contested skill checks and such), or if the result would be obvious to the players. That way we also keep a bit of mystery in the game about things the characters have no way of knowing without a successful roll.

Ah that works then, so we don't need to do any rolls really unless asked for them then if im understanding?

Also I'll be writing my post up a little later on tonight, just got back from work and got a hot date with the woman for a few hours. :)

OMG I love this way of thinking! It makes us less paranoiac for Insight rolls and allow us to focus more on the action and whats going on!

I'll reply in IC a bit or tommorow. Im not at my place right now sorry.

If I heard of the rumors you sent me beforehand, can I replace one of my spell with either Purify Food and Drink and/or Detect Poison?

I think the problem lies in which of us want to risk it in the water huh... I might try to be the one who does it, I have a plan for it.

Arco might be able to get across the opening with magic, depending on how far across it is.

Nice yeah if there is a way for us to lower our side of the draw bridge it might make doing that easier as you have to get over a smaller distance. Less chance of unforeseen mishap.

    Yes, that's reasonable.

From grynels response does that mean its ok to look at spoilers with a players name on it? I didnt know if that was private information or not
Yes, I put it in spoilers because it's written for specific people, separate from the collective narrative. You can still look at it; if I need to share any secret information, I'll use PMs.

Okay so given the idea of eventual combat compared to how it's progressing currently is combat going to be a we make the rolls for what we're doing and going one at a time waiting for each person to post during a round type deal or ?
Also forgive typos here and there, sometimes I'm posting from my phone. I'll edit if I happen to catch them before reading but some might slip through

Players can make their own attack rolls, since when to make them should be pretty predictable.

As for initiative, I actually haven't thought of it, to be honest. I think what I used to do is have the PCs go all at once in whatever order, and then the NPCs all at once, but if any of y'all know of a better system for this format, I'm all ears.
