    The Kadangan Wetlands
    Region 73

    Actions:
    1. [Diplomacy] Invite more tribes to join the council
Odenege and his supporters get more of the tribes to agree to send their representatives to the council. The work has taken two decades already, but a snowball effect is finally starting to take place as the number of participating tribes has grown slightly larger than the number of non-participating ones.
    2. [Diplomacy] Negotiate a truce between the tribes of Gambeda swamp
Many skirmishes have broken out between the tribes living at the Gambeda swamp over perceived insults during the last year. Odenege hosts peace negotiations as part of a council meeting, raising the authority and standing of the institution.
    3. [Economy] Buyout Trade post #2 in Region 73
Unifying the fish trade would help provide the funds necessary for the future reforms Odenege has planned. As it's outside council jurisdiction he uses his personal connections to send a small delegation of goblin merchants and a few economically inclined Seretse to Habada Outpost. Once there they try to negotiate a common trade policy with the tribes using the trade post. Roll: 14
    4. [Economy] Buyout Trade post #3 in Region 73
With similar reasoning, another delegation is sent to Josatse village to negotiate. Roll: 19
    5. [Diplomacy] Send a mission to Wasipacha
In recent years Kadanga has received a lot of news of happenings near and far, particularly of war stirring in many places of the world. Of particular interest has been the militarization of the denizens of the Wasipacha jungle, east of Kadanga. The council decides to send its first ever diplomatic mission to this so-called Jarkana Confederacy, in an effort to establish friendly, or at least peaceful relations.
    6. (bonus) [Diplomacy] Cultural Identity: Unmoving Waters
The Seretse culture has a long and proud history, especially when it comes to matters of faith. They hold these traditions in high regard and any outside influence trying to incite change will meet stiff resistance. Die size increase when resisting conversion.

    News and rumors:
    • Kadanga receives the Empress' invitation to join the Trodjan Games, and in them the council sees a good opportunity to re-establish relations with Avakonia. Unfortunately it is unable to reach a consensus on who the athletes representing Kadanga should be. Most councilors insist their tribe would have the best picks, and the council is dismissed without a resolution to the issue. By the next council meeting it is too late to send anyone to Avakonia as they would no longer make it in time for the games. The whole matter is a cause of considerable embarrassment to everyone involved and highlights the current ineffieciency of the council. As a result, it is decided that from now on the council will meet every month.

    Wuzei Darak
Ruler: Trin Bak and Her Council

    Actions:
    1. [Military] Raise a naval unit, called Reefcrossers
The news from returning traders has brought the tales of war and unrest on the mainland to the Darak. Though the safety of the reef still protects them, there is growing anxiety that soon a nation will turn its eye to the sea for others to conquer. Trin Bak and her council have agreed to raise two units (Actions 1 and 2) in preparation for defense
    2. [Military] Raise a second Reefcrosser unit
    3. [Economy] Buyout of 2nd trade post (the open one) in Region 18
The unrest of the mainland brings concerns that news will not reach the Darak quickly enough, and that the messengers (the traders) will be harmed before returning home. Besides, the Darak would like more metal.
    4. [Economy] Buyout of an open trade post in Region 30
    5. [Diplomacy] Failed marriage alliance with Region 76
    6. [Diplomacy] A small trade delegation sends a gift of Yo-Ke squid to the AmHam Federation as a gesture of unity and friendship from one Jalyeong-Bo nation to another.

Trin Bak is the current leader of the Darak Council, a young female member of the royal family. When news of the mainland wars first reached the Darak, Ru Bak, her father and previous leader of the council, raised her to the level of co-leader and trained her carefully to rule the Darak before he himself retired to the ranks of the priests, hoping to find there some insights into how to guide the council. While no major direct conflict has faced Trin Bak, there is currently a great amount of faith in her abilities, partially due to the peaceful succession.

    Round Four: Begin!
    Imperial Reckoning 112-114
Don’t forget to link to any rolls you make for ANY Attribute checks, plus rolls for rulers you will start using at the start of next round. If you want a new ruler in the next round, you must state so in your action post for this round and link to their rolls. Any increases from actions for this round are counted for the ruler you start your next round with (because it’s handier to account for by the co-GM), which may or may not be your current ruler.

    Good luck!

    Rules Alerts & Changes!
States fighting alongside one another in a coalition now each suffer one automatic size loss roll, as a result of the difficulties in coordination in supply and disputes between soldiers. The -1 size loss roll in coalitions for shared cultural identities negates this.

Casualties are now affected somewhat by the degree to which a battle is won: if a battle is won by a 10-point difference or more, the winners will now take 50% fewer casualties, and the losers will take 50% more, as they are overrun. This change does not affect losses from distance or size.

    Growth!
Iadesh welcomes the greater opportunities for trade created by united with Regno, becoming part of a united Desert of Magic, based on shared history and close ties in the ruling families.
Regno, Desert of Magic gains control of Region 7! Regno, Desert of Magic gains a unit!

The wing-knights of Ti Linnad fight on many fronts this year, but they do not face difficulties from those they seek to help; in fact, the folk of [region 20] welcome their aid and praise the accomplishments of the Linnadi. The nobles seem to aspire to join the Council, and take part in ruling greater lands than theirs, after witnessing the vulnerability of their own.
Ti Linnad successfully Presses a claim on region 20 (2 rounds)!

Gwitna and Coatl celebrate the union of their peoples in marriage! May prosperity and trade flow forth from this bond evermore, as love blossoms anew.

The Whitefeather Kingdom's persuasive methods meet with success, and the folk of [region 44] accept their position and seek to make the best of it.
Region 44 is no longer in Unrest!

Though hesitant, the high courts of [Region 34] are amiable to Lacian influence, and the rhetorics held regularly swing more and more in favor of union.
New Lacia successfully Presses a claim on region 34 (2 rounds)! New Lacia now controls region 34! New Lacia gains a Unit!

With their assault beaten and their lands fortified, the clans north of Varjik have no choice but to submit, and many go willingly, pleased to take the land of their more violent compatriots in exchange for service.
The Firethorne Regiment takes control of Region 53! The Firethorne Regiment gains a unit!

Sartek Jurus’ recent reforms have convinced the people of [Region 19] that he is worth following, and their philosophers suppose that the duties his position demands of him are suitable in a ruler for their lands and people. He has not, however, visited their lands since, and some dissenters are using this to try and spread discontent…
Region 19 is no longer in Unrest!

The tribes of Kadanga are the most peaceable they’ve been in decades; Odenege has proven himself to be a patient and skillful orator, and many tribal elders have begun to appreciate his drive for unity in the face of foreign workings.
While the Wuzei Darak are skilled negotiators, it seems not all appreciate their politics. [Region 76], to their north, deny the overtures of marriage from the ruling family of the island chains. Old rivalries do not fall easily, it seems. Several promising young men show interest, however, despite the opposition from their elders; if one of them makes their way into a position of power, it may not be out of the question to arrange alliance through matrimony.
    Trade!

    Successful Buyouts
Regno, Desert of Magic buys out trade post 3 of region 6(Izbefe) for Ships.
The Kingdom of Izbefe buys out trade post 3 of region 8 (Regno) for Bani.
The Kingdom of Izbefe buys out trade post 2 of region 6(Izbefe) for Ships.
The Speakers from Regno are good at more than one form of speaking; negotiations for favorable acquisition terms for a number of high-quality Ships, built in Izbefe; most are used to aid the Izbefe in transporting their recently purchased Bani from Regno; the Oamenii take the utmost care in ensuring goods arrive safely with their new trading partners, as those partners likewise increase ship production. Dockyards are streamlined and the government takes financial control over some of the most lucrative operations, turning them towards military use.

The Concordance of Azenhal buys out trade post 1 of region 41 for Ironwood.
Interested in all things vaguely smithable, several enterprising traders from the Concordance, loaded down with gold, head south to [region 41], and return laden with lumber of the famed Ironwood trees, ready to be plied into whatever goods the dwarves of Azenhal might fancy.

The Kadangan Wetlands buys out trade post 3 of region 73(The Kadangan Wetlands) for Fish
Kadanga is united in more ways than one, as their fishing industries rapidly accumulate as personal assets under Odenege. Such a monopoly on local exports can fund many things, whether they be armies or monuments…

The return of the Darak to the stage of Emjata is marked by a rapid acquisition of several mining assets in the northernmost parts of the Empire [Region 18], as well as the far east [Region 30]. Initia spreads it’s educational ways further, as the Abhidic temples of [Region 9] see their function shift from meditative prayer and contemplation to elemental study and contemplation. The transition is relatively smooth; there are strong scholarly traditions in the area, and it seems that faith and science are not so dissimilar in the minds of the Abhidics; persuasion to focus on the one rather than the other is simple.

The folk of Kuniumi are subtle. Perhaps too subtle. Their hints and suggestions about the importance of Names goes straight over the heads of the clansfolk of [Region 53].

The Inyoni Crescent has gone through many changes in recent years. Foremost among these is a drastic shift in spirituality; once venerating the Maiden, now many aspects of their society are informed by Echeler and the twin Phoenixes. Perhaps this newfound belief will lead to new allies?
The Whitefeather Kingdom changes state religion to The Pantheon of Ildia!

Perijanism triumphs in [Region 32], as Coatl claims pre-eminence in the hearts and minds of many. There is much discontent in the region, however, as people feel their traditions are being eliminated by foreigners. There may be difficulty in the future…

The religiously minded of New Lacia pray for the soldiers fighting across Emjata, hoping that peace may reign...perhaps their hopes shall come true, some day.

New Lacia converts religious center 1 of region 45 from Abhidi to Pantheon of Ildia using First Manuscript of Ildia
New Lacia converts religious center 1 of region 34 from Perijanism to Pantheon of Ildia
To say one god is truly another is an odd thing to the people in [region 34], but not so odd as to be impossible, or even unlikely. Priests from Lacia are able to make clear why their interpretations of divine action are more likely, and many people realize they’ve been honoring the wrong deities!

Amham Federation converts religious center 2 of region 5 from Abhidi to Jalyeong-Bo
Unification of spirit and mortal must happen everywhere to be worthy of occurring at all, and to be part of the process is an exceedingly high honor. The jalsi in charge of this in [Region 5] returns without the precious Seed Stone, however…and when questioned, they claim to never have received it in the first place. Even spiritual interrogation could not compel the shaman to reveal the location, so it seems likely that they are telling the truth. If that is so, where is it?

Amham Federation converts religious center 2 of region 4 from Abhidi to Jalyeong-Bo
Amham Federation converts religious center 3 of region 4 from Abhidi to Jalyeong-Bo
In [Region 4], many realize the importance of Abhidi’s lesser aspects, and their practices now more closely resemble Jalyeong-Bo spirit offerings than Abhidic ritual.

Amham Federation converts religious center 2 of region 57 from Perijanism to Jalyeong-Bo
The islanders of [Region 57] know of the spirits well, and while the Perijanists have never respected the spirits, the consecration of a new holy place for the spirits to congregate seems to have at least cowed their foolishness. In time they may even realize the peace that harmony with the spirits can bring.

The people of [Region 20] are horrified to find two separate armies marching through their near defenceless land. Luckily for them, the Linnadi are marching to intercept the army of Lady Selaissie, and are eagerly joined by some wise captains and commanders. The two equally sized and equally led armies meet at the edge of some marshland, and begin to test each other’s defences. Lady Selaissie, believing her soldiers to be far superior in single combat fakes a retreat in the centre to try to encircle her enemy, and indeed manages to entrap a group of spearmen. Unfortunately for her, the Linnadi had faced this tactic beforehand, and countered by attempting to encircle the Perivanian army, and thus have them caught between two fronts. While this fails, the Perivans have been outmanoeuvred, and despite proving ferocious in close combat, are forced to pull back. After the previous defeat, King Balder returns with a renewed army to try and overrun the people of [Region 5] and again meets the forces of the local general, her forces smaller in number, but much stronger in spirit. This time the battle begins far faster, with Balder pushing forward quickly to counter any trickery he might face. By doing so, he manages to catch a hidden contingent of the local army off guard, and quickly slaughters them. Thus enraged, the armies eventually come to blows, their lines constantly smashing into each other. Eventually, both sides are forced to tactically withdraw by mutual consent to aid the wounded and to resupply, and so despite the bloodiness of the battle, it is hardly conclusive. The Amber mines of [Region 68] are found abandoned by their dwarven pillagers, who gladly carry as much as they can carry back to their homeland. The core mines are secured within the week, forcing out the few 'beasts' (fishmen) that inhabited them with little effort and settling in just before the first snows of the season come in, and luckily before they could organize a proper defense. Though not much open combat is made, word of this offense reaches the ears of their amphibian leaders who may just decide that enemies of the Pican are not allowed to linger in freshly conquered lands. Some claim that the dwarven mercenaries sometimes hunt the locals for sport, weakening the Pican's still recent hold on the region.

The Firethorne regiment raids trade post 1 of region 62 for Slaves
In need of workers but unwilling to resort to the corruption and decadence inherent in treating one’s fellow men and women as property, a daring mission to the south is undergone, as a network of wayfarers and guides are established to aid slaves from [Region 62] reach Varjik, and safety. Known as the Underground Road for the use of tunnels and hidden cellars within which fugitive slaves are hidden, the Firethorne Regiment shines like a star in the north, emboldening those in the region to try their luck at freedom as well. Many die, on both sides, in the ensuing slave riots, but the seed has been planted. And more importantly, Varjik has a steady influx of unskilled labor, grateful to their saviors and used to poor working conditions, for any purpose they may require.

Hosra bleeds deeper every day, as the Picians turn their hunger elsewhere. It grows more and more difficult for the remaining fish-men to keep order, and riots and small-scale guerilla fighting begins to spread in the area. Calls for their King to return echo through the land, and few go meekly to their dooms any longer.
    Hosra (region 68) is Unstable!

The Lizardfolk of Kadanga, in an effort to ensure their own safety, decide that a known neighbor is significantly better than an unknown one, and send a diplomatic mission to Wasipacha, in order to treat with the Jarkana Confederacy. They arrive to witness horror, as death and destruction reins, petty warlords use brutality and violence to vainly attempt to keep their own people in line, and the land degenerates into anarchy. From what the delegation could put together, the people of Wasipacha, long in poverty, sought to raid their northern neighbors for slaves. They were successful… at least at first. But it seems that the northerners did not take kindly to this, nor did the slaves. Several months later, the slaves in both areas revolted. In the north, the revolt was put down, and the armies turned towards Wasipacha, in belief that they were the cause. In Wasipacha, the revolt turned into a civil war, and ended with the leaders of the Confederacy being tied to great statues in the jungle and left to rot. It is said their screams can still be heard if you are foolish enough to approach the statues. The three armies of the land wasted themselves in battle against each other, and the area struggles to support the few communities left.

The only question is one of whether a third of one’s population being skilled at rhetoric is a cause for celebration, or one for headaches.

As the Trodjan Games come to a close, there is a great buzz of excitement about the victors; it seems the Kunai Clans of nearby Kuniumi came out victorious in the majority of the games, albeit with strong showings from many of the competitors, and in particular Azenhal. Though the Jarkana team ends up staying in Avakonia once news about their homeland arrives, many of the other athletes leave with Risen Suns, medallions of honor emblazoned with the Sun of Avakonia. Some, such as the representatives from Regno, leave with more unique gifts; in that case, a carven sun shaped from beautiful Mrazite, and Parchseed. One of the particularly gifted members of Azenhal’s delegation, an Azen who went 17 wrestling bouts without fail and proceeded to win the Endurance Relay, is gifted with the Hammer of Trodje, an ancient artifact rumored to have been gifted by the god himself, for their performance in the games (Relic: +1 to Buyouts, once per turn). Izbefe (region 6) is in Unrest for want of Wood!

The sacred land of Dvatla is displeased with the current ruler. For the Sacred rivers to be safe, cavalry is necessary; their mobility and strength is known to be unmatched by warriors on foot, and the failure at Nidsli seems to strengthen this claim. While thus far, only the Lords of Kepaas have risen in open rebellion against the king, others may join them if action is not taken…
Dvatla (region 12) is in Unrest for want of Horses!

An economy focused on trade cannot function without wood. Carts, ships, tools...docks must be rebuilt if fire occurs, and stone is expensive for construction, and rarely insulates well. Perivan is home to peoples from across Emjata, but in Perivan, they all require wood. Without adequate supply, the people will blame their woes on the Sartek. If new imports cannot be found, riots will be had. And those riots will ruin whatever meager sources of timber remain...
Perivan (region 15) is in Unrest for want of Timber!

The Isles have been quiet lately in world affairs…but perhaps that is due to the turmoil they face as metal supplies run low and bronze becomes harder to produce. The mercenary companies that supply the island with much needed coin grow anxious, and anxious mercenaries produce only trouble.
The Isles of Lazar (region 28) are in Unrest for want of Copper!

Fields cannot be worked without tools. Walls cannot be guarded without weapons. Taxes, construction, artistry...all of these are vital for the continued function of the realm, and they all require metal. Without a new supply of tool-worthy metal, Coatl has grown unsteady with it's present rulers. Who are they to claim dominion over the Serpent's land, if they have not the means to ensure such a simple and vital resource in ample supply?
Coatl (region 33) is in Unrest for want of Hard Metals!

Feth leaves can be burned for warmth in the cold winter months...but this means there's nothing to smoke during the rest of the year! A growing population in Lacia is beginning to struggle, and disease spreads as the capability for the Lacians to house their people falls behind their burgeoning cities. Rumors circulate of the Council's incompetence; while harmless for now, a change in government would not be far from the people's minds, were this to continue...
Lacia (region 35) is in Unrest for want of Wood!

Terror, propaganda, and suspicion are quite useful in keeping a populace docile and compliant, as any Khirus nightborn can tell you. But they are also good at fostering resentment if used incorrectly. With supplies of useful timber running low, merchants begin to raise their prices. Carpenters, bowmakers, and shipwrights all plead with the Republic to force them to reduce the prices as their livelihoods are gouged. The merchants, of course, refuse, stating that they would not last a week if they were to sell at regular prices when no new stock is available. And all the while the common people bear the burden. This tension cannot hold, and in Khirus, stability seems as fragile as skin...
Khirus (region 40) is in Unrest for want of Wood!

Recent shakeups in Kuniumi have led a serious reduction in the stability of the region. The Shushan gone, diplomatic arrangements uncertain, the Clans grow nervous. An entire culture built on secrecy, on edge so soon after an effective coup, cannot end well for anyone but foreigners and warlords. This situation is exasperated as stable surfaces on which the sacred ink might be preserved grow scarce. Without stone, the Amidasu cannot practice their craft in full; wood, once a live thing and flammable to boot, is far too dangerous for many of the characters to be practiced by children. Without stone, homes are flimsy, prone to burn at the first ember. If the Name of Kunai is to be preserved, and the clans stay united, something must be done.
Kuniumi (region 54) is in Unrest for want of Stone!

Fresia (region 70) is in Unrest for want of Meat!

    The Gwitna Coalition
    Lord Ferreth
    Region 23

    Actions

    1. [Intrigue] Capture a (for now) nameless pician from the Realm of Tides. A few brave young men travel down to the shores of Fresia, planning to build a giant salmon trap to capture one of the now-famous "picians" alive. Though the fish-men are reportedly dangerous prey, they are also apparently fairly unintelligent, and this ought to allow the fishermen to prevail. The fishermen originally try constructing a fish trap, and then chastize themselves for their stupidity when they realize that the sunken land of fresia has no current to keep the fish inside. They then set an ambush for one of the fish-folk, placing a piece of salmon meat on a submerged net attached to a small system of pulleys. When a pician swims over to investigate the smell of the salmon, the fishers hoist up the net rapidly, tangling the pician in midair. They quickly disarm the struggling fish and bind it for the journey back home.Roll 17.
    2. [Intrigue] A group of canoes attacks a sea elf Quadririmes in the northeast Uhraiya. This ship was on higher alert than the last one, however. They see the canoes approaching before the Gwitna are fully in position, and no Gwitna manage to even board the vessel, repelled by a hail of arrows and spears.
    3. [Intrigue] Raid unoccupied trade post 1 of region 46 for Golden Yew with cultural identity: Proud Pillagers and Pilferers. The Gwitna have long been interested in the properties of other regions' wood. A raiding party primarily of house beaver sails to region 46 to seize one of their lumber yards for the beautiful golden yew. Roll 15
    4. [Diplomacy] Stabilize Region 24. For a long time the coastal villagers of region 24 have lived in fear of the Gwitna raiding canoes that ply the eastern edge of the Badan Sea. Now that they are under Lord Ferreth's control, they face a choice. Will they fall in with the Gwitna's growing horde and become relatively safe from its ravagers while gaining the opportunity to pillage for themselves, or will they remain prey by clinging to their independence? Roll 17.
    5. [Intrigue] Secret Roll 14

    Non-Actions
    Support New Lacia's Buyout.

    News and Rumors

    The upcoming news this round:

Lord Ferreth’s good friend Wyndath the magpie dies in the year 112 at the venerated age of 8.

Lord Ferreth finds that marriage is not as bad as he was expecting, and Anci seems to be acclimatizing well to the culture of the Gwitna.

Coatl must have favored the Gwitna for the conquest of Gurmanh to have proceeded so flawlessly. It now seems that he also favors the Linnadi as well. Perhaps the successful battle was intended as a sign that the Linnadi should join his flock.

Will House Orca have an HEIR? Not yet, apparently.

The Shushan are outraged by Amidasu's marriage to the empress. If the people of Kuniumi are willing to accept imperial allies as vassals and be partially ruled by a man married to the empress, why were they cast out?

The captured Pician has demonstrated signs of intelligence even just on the journey back home, showing obvious pleasure on being fed and choosing not to run away when its tired captors eventually unbound its legs so that it could walk.

A team of scholars is appointed by Lord Ferreth to study the captured pician. The team is overseen by Anci Cuahuey and includes prominent scholars from Glen Gwitna and the Shushan clan. The pician is kept in a sturdily built but comfortable house near a freshwater spring a few miles inland, and orders are given that it is treated with care and kindness in the hopes that it might cooperate in their studies.

In New Lacia, a pair of young Gwitna undertaking the magpie trial oversaw a most impressive display. They were following a group of Lacians carrying lots of Feth leaves in the hopes of stealing some when their guard was down. Watching from the bushes, they saw the Lacians perform a strange ritual in a forest grove. They saw the dawn delayed for the rise of an unnaturally bright moon. They saw Pacian McUnica sacrificed to Folursung, and as they tried to sneak away in fright at what they had witnessed, they heard the bear's great roar. Thinking this signaled the god's perception of their trespass, they bolted through the trees as fast as possible, eventually stumbling off a small bluff into a creek. They struggled to the surface embarrassed and awed.

Though the eventual retelling of the story did not include the creek, most of it reached Glen Gwitna intact. Although branded as mere gossip by priests of Coatl, the story is retold from whisper to whisper in every house and village of the Gwitna, and more people seek out the Ildian wise men in the sanctified caverns.

    Amham Federation
    Region 2
    Duke Baek Gyeon

    Actions
    1. Faith: F10: Organize Jalyeong-Bo - In 112 IR Mount Ayam, the volcano of Amham's Southeast, erupts in a massive blast. Jalsi Chae Gyeon confronts the volcano's spirit and, following a desperate struggle wins sufficient respect to delay the devastation until the sun sets an act that saves tens of thousands of lives. Everyone in Regner is able to witness a massive volcanic cloud - which reaches considerably towards space - hang motionless for hours on end. This miraculous demonstration of spiritual power and shamanic intervention galvanizes the widespread practitioners to accept measures of codification and organization that were previously unthinkable. Jalsi Seung Kyung takes the nominal position of leadership, organizes a continent-wide information sharing system, and produces a widely disseminated set of basic spiritual practices. Chae evolves from Chae, Drummer Shaman to Chae, Shaman-Royal.
    2. Faith: Conversion of Yemur (Region 1) Abhidi Holy Center 3 to Jalyeong-Bo - As part of the effort to bring order to the region, shamans move to convert the devolved Abhidi practices of the mountains back to spiritual faith. The local monks, cut off from any other followers of Abhidi and having never fully abandoned the spirits, mostly reorient seamlessly. Roll 16
    3. Faith: Wrath Shall Make itself Known - Jalsi Sa Hyunsu, furious at the loss of the Seed Stone unlocks the demon bindings of the monstrous entity whose blood he shed with it. This being, a hideous winged creature with feathers of blood and a beak of bone brutally slaughters and consumes one to ten people each night at random within a one kilometer radius of the Seed Stone until the possession is cleansed or there is no longer anyone in range. (OOC: this a purely fluff action that cannot harm any named figures but will make an awful mess and continues until a faith or other action is taken to halt the process, nobody ever said shamanism was nice).
    4. Diplomacy: Attempt Stabilization of Yemur (Region 1) - Having subdued most outward manifestations of violence and been acknowledged as masters of Yemur (Region 1), Amham turns to the task of establishing a government in the land. The Duke appoints his cousin Kin Gyeon as Viceroy of Yemur and assigns him the task of acknowledging or elevating local nobles to form a leadership council for the region. Kin's wife, Speaker Cogati, travels with him. Regno acquires a claim on Yemur. The effort proves slow-going as few see the benefit of greater organization. Roll 5.
    5. Diplomacy: Hold Event - In 114 IR, following the successful prosecution of the nautical struggle in Ortassa, the grateful court of Amham holds the Festival of the Deeps to honor those who fought, those who fell, and the spirits who exerted their strength on the behalf of Emjata. Invitations are extended to all states.

    Non-Actions
    1. From 113-114 IR Chae Gyeon, alongside the Omanush Skyswimmer Ija Jehin and others successfully halt an incursion by extraterrestrial life known as Draoids that attempted to purge and replace the entire ecosystem of Ortassa. Damage to the sea elves of the Chill Winds was significant but they will recover in time. Impact to the continent was minimal. Chae evolves from Chae, Shaman-Royal to Chae of the Endless Names (OOC: this summary represents the events of the in-progress novel tentatively titled A Sea of Two Trees).

    Jalyeong-Bo Bonuses
    1. (5 Centers): Spiritual Solidarity - +1 to resist conversions - the faith of Jalyeong-Bo is comprised of more than mere mortals. Subtle efforts by the spirits work against those who would turn the people from their fellowship.
    2. (15 Centers): Spiritual Network - +1 to conversion attempts - the spirits do not respect lines drawn on maps by mortals, and will readily move to accommodate new pacts.
    3. (Most Centers): Sight of the Eyeless - +2 to the difficulty of secret actions in a region with a controlled religious center - to fool those who are bound to the spirits means tricking more than simply mortal observers.

    Spoiler
    Show

    1. Following the conclusion of the Festival of the Deeps Chae Gyeon leaves Amham in the company of the Omanush. Reputedly she intends to travel south to investigate the Picians.
    2. Kin Gyeon sponsors a joint exercise wherein warriors from both Amham and Yemur train on omanush ships. This provides the sea elves with helping hands and builds camaraderie between the two regions though the absolute number of participants is quite small.
    3. Despite believing him to have been ultimately misguided, shamans sent to Yemur's mountains make an effort to record stories of the monk Imor. The resulting complication contains an array of bizarre, contradictory, and stunningly esoteric folk tales. Several magi in Regno are given copies by courier, source unknown, which rumors suggest is some sort of elaborate joke.
    4. Draoid remains wash up on the western coast of Regner throughout 114 IR. Shamans from Amham join with those of the omanush in directing the locals to burn these, as they do not naturally rot.

    2. [Military] Recruit a unit
    3. [Faith] Convert Region 11, Holy Center 3 (Open) Roll 15 The dark days of imperial occupation are long gone. The city-states and petty lords downriver must be reminded of the old ways.
    4. [Faith] Great Project! (1/5) Before crossing the river once more to invade [Region 10], Fëkälis spends a significant amount of time with his priests (and even his Abhidic monks) searching the region around Khlıghat, hoping the find the ideal location for an impressive new temple complex. They eventually agree on a site near the city, beside the shore of Lake Zävghäki. Construction begins on some of the smaller buildings, while the surrounding area is cleared and leveled for further expansion.
    5. [Economy] Buyout Camels (Region 7, Trade Post 3 – Roll 13) Years ago we sent diplomats and merchants deep into the western desert in pursuit of an animal we hoped could serve as a substitute for horses in a new sort of cavalry. They were at least able to confirm the existence and usefulness of these camels. Now another band of merchants are sent west, much more aware of local culture and hoping to also secure the support of Regno. Apparently the Iadeshians have become much more friendly and open minded in the past few years...

    News and Rumors
    • Word of the eruption of Mount Ayam spreads quickly, and the priests declare that the goddess Haslutlu must has been angered. Debate then rages whether it was Haslutlu herself, or merely a local mountain diety. When clearer reports of the delay in the eruption arrive it is agreed that a local god must have been involved. The Lady of the Fires is not so easily distracted or appeased. Nevertheless, there is a marked increase in rituals and sacrifices dedicated to her, as the priests and nobles eye D̨vatla's own mountains nervously.
    • The empire has crossed the bay and marched against the cities of the former League of White Sails! Emissaries are sent downriver once again, to the cities and lordships between the Rivers. Surely they see that the time for petty rivalries is past?
    • The empress's servants sail west against Regner! The lands of the northwest must unite against the corrupt and decadent behemoth. Together there is nothing to fear from this pale mockery of Dejan's power.

    Round 4
    [Regno, Desert of Magic]

    [Grand Magus Viclean]

    Actions:
    1. [Faith] Magi Vecto and his Aspect Scholar followers arrive in the Concordance, and begin to teach the Duke of Bray and those nearby how to pronounce 'Initia'.
(Claim Religious Center #2, Region 71, Roll: 15)
    2. [Faith] The Grand Magus makes a point to visit with King Balder Gammet of Izbefe, before then traveling (under guard) to the cities, Karak and Taob, to discuss with people there about the principles of Initia.
(Claim Religious Center #2, Region 6, Roll: 13)
    3. [Economy] Umbo Iadesh the Sixth, with help from Regnan merchants, makes an effort to purchase large quantities of Dragon Shrimp from the nearby island to the east.
(Buyout of Trade Post #2, Region 10, Roll: 13)
    4. [Economy 5] More than any other city, Litore - on the Regnan coastline - takes a vested interest in the Sapphires from [Region 9]. With permission from the Grand Magus, and political backing from students of Initia inside the region, Magus Scruto of Family Litore spends several months inside [Region 9] and locates an as yet unheard of Sapphire mine. Gifting the official ownership of the Mine to the government of [Region 9], Magus Scruto uses the wealth of Family Litore to not only help establish a mining town (Called 'Little Litore' by it's new inhabitants), but also continue to buy any shipments of the rare gems from the new mine.
(Economy 5 Special: Upgrade Resource Quantity, Region 9)
    5. [Military] To correct any growing misgivings and confusion between the Legionnaires and the Sons of Us All, the Sons of Us All are officially incorporated into the Legions. One high ranked Captain for every (former) Sons of Us All city is promoted to the newly created Legionnaire rank of Colonel. The five Colonels are the currently highest ranking military members within Regno and Iadesh.
      (+1 Military Unit)

    Non-Actions:
    • In order to be neighborly, the Grand Magus and the current Umbo Iadesh (the sixth of that name), convince the Camel Merchants of Prinde Town to be open to the idea of war camels for D̨vatla.
[Provide support for D̨vatla buyout of Prinde Towns's (TP#3) supply of Iadeshian Camels]

    Spoiler: News and Rumors
    Show

    • The slavery in Iadesh bothers many people within Regno, but the rumor is that the Grand Magus is discussing the matter further with Umbo Iadesh the Sixth.
    • Speaker Tutum Sortis, formerly of the Iadesh family, and now the Heir to the Sortis family, is very happy when his new wife from Regno presents signs of pregnancy. His two other wives are rumored to be both jealous and gleeful, as neither of them have yet been able to conceive. Sure enough, in less than a year, the Grand Magus has a mewling and much doted upon granddaughter. The young girl is given the name 'Spera Sortis' by her mother, and when not in the hands of her biological female parent, Spera seems to be sleeping or fussing in the arms of Tutum's other two wives, who both grow fiercely maternal towards the new babe.
    • Picians being fish-men bent on - seemingly - mass destruction is bothersome to Regnans and Iadeshians alike. Oddly, many Aspect Scholars and several Speakers officially request the chance to try and study the dangerous Picians in their natural habitat, and perhaps teach them about Initia. Every single such request is denied by the Three Towers and the Grand Magus, stating that they will not willingly send any Oamenii into such obvious peril.
    • Ambassador Riola Greybeak from Whitefeather continues to be well treated, and her lead Regno guardsman, Captain Disca, makes it a point to provide the Ambassador with her choice of many Oamenii as personal assistants. The Ambassador is receiving so many requests to meet from Aspect Scholars, Speakers, and even Magi, that where she to take all of them, she would never have time to sleep. Many of these prospective meetings are rumored to be about the 'Whitefeather Curse'.
    • Speaker Sortiment, the Ambassador to Whitefeather marries himself to a woman from the Dawntalon family, and through his own diplomatic prowress, seems to help his new wife to establish and elevate the Dawntalon family from a minor house to a much more prominent one. Only the politics of the Inyoni Crescent will be able to determine if he actually manages to establish a new great house. In the year 114, shortly after the middle of the year, his new wife becomes pregnant, and the child - half-Oamenii and half-Inyoni - promises to make quite the stir once it is born.
    • Magi Vecto - within the Concordance of Azenhal and the Three Tribes - reports a great deal of interest and success. His summary of the education of the humans and dwarves of the region mention that the two races have made a bit of a competition out of hosting any of the eight individuals whom are teaching the Principles of Initia. A couple months later, another of Magi Vecto's report updates the situation, by stating that there are now several Dwarven and Human Aspect Scholars within the region whom are taking active part in helping to teach the (soon to be) King of Bray.
    • The views and practices of the dwarves of the Concordance are at first met with skepticism, but the Regnan trait of curiosity soon wins out, and soon many Aspect Scholars with an interest in the Rune of the Boulder are requesting permission to experiment with the runic magic common to the Three Tribes and Azenhal. Magi Incudo, one of those whom has the Rune of the Mountain Range tattoed upon his person, is the first to receive such permission, and is very quick to combine his existent forging techniques with those taught by the expedition from Bray.
    • Grand Magus Viclean visits both King Balder Gammet and Magi Lokir Rainstep, at the request of Izbefe. They work to ratify the informal agreement established years ago that has begun a new kinship between the two countries. The Grand Magus then asks permission to visit the cities, Karak and Taob. He seems to have some success, and soon the cities are bustling with new Initiates.
    • Magus Scruto of Family Litore does his best to attract support from those living within Region 9, to the southeast. Grand Magus Viclean is whole-heartedly in support of the actions of the governor of Litore, and it is rumored that the two are hopeful of a unified desert one day.
    • Newly tattooed Aspect Scholar Arunca, of Family Newbess, is sent to learn diplomacy from the unofficial Ambassador to D̨vatla, Speaker Vorbi. By all accounts, the young man is doing well for himself, and in a few years, may earn his Speaker tattoo. D̨vatlans are no longer looked upon with trepidation, though the difference between the two cultures - D̨vatlan and Oamenii - makes conversations with the foreigners stand-offish and difficult to start for the average person, when any merchants from the militant country wander into the Desert of Magic. It is certainly true that the Sons of Us All take more notice of any such visitors.
    • When the volcano - Mount Ayam - erupts in Amham, the city of Newbess sends as many of their Aspect Scholars that know about healing and first aid as possible. They arrive as quickly as possible, only to find that the Federation doesn't need their help, as a powerful Jalsi managed to halt the eruption long enough to reduce injuries and death. They return to Iadesh and Regno with this news, and many of the Iadeshians seem excited about the strength of their Jalyeong-Bo neighbors.

    3. [Diplomacy 5] Cultural Identity: United in Action
The Linnadi are a people shaped by unity. When the opportunity comes to work as one force, they seize it - at home and abroad.

    4. [Military 10] Tech: Wingknights

At the same time, Coatl priests in the south claim to have received a sign that Coatl protected the Linnadi defenders in [Region 20]. Priests from the Theocracy are invited once more to share their views and knowledge, and Coatl becomes the chief god among the Linnadi.
      .
    • Celebration runs high in [Region 20] following the heroic defense by combined local and Linnadi forces. A week of celebration is declared following the withdrawal of Perivan's forces, and the first day of the celebration is made an annual holiday.
      .
    • History truly does repeat itself, as the Lady Amerah Kren leads Avakonian expansionism by the same route as her famous ancestor. Though little is decided by the Council, the invasion of [Region 4] is seen as the potential beginning of Imperial resurgence, and a worrying sign indeed.
      .
    • The similar invasion of the former League of White Sails shows the worrying strength of the Empire. The Council does not openly oppose the Empress's stated goal of instilling order, but few believe that it is anything more than an excuse to expand into a once-free land. It seems that perhaps the Empire is turning its attention back to the North, and if so then much must be done to stop it.
      .
    • Throughout 114, a traveler from [Region 20] crosses from town to town of the Highlands. The man introduces himself as a wandering storyteller, interested in the wealth of stories and tales the Linnadi can tell him. He finds great success and begins the task of compiling these tales into a book.

    News & Rumors
    Spoiler

    • Word arrives from the south of Concordance lands, where the Greenstone Clan recently bought and claimed a fair acreage of Ironwood timber, that the previous local administration with whom Concordance treaties and contracts were arranged was toppled by a vicious horde of undead led by vampiric commanders. According to the rumors many of the former officials in the region have come under the sway of these demonic invaders. What this means for the Concordance outpost in the region and its legal standing remains to be seen. Further questions as to the threat posed by this dark horde in contrast to the fishmen menace become more common.
    • Within the halls of leadership news of the southern kingdom of Khirus moving from distant threat to neighbor leads to much scrambling. All efforts had been focused west, against the threat out of Fresia, and in their singular goal they had lost sight of other looming ill portents. The threat presented by Khirus and its infectious necromancy is deemed to be of at least equal magnitude to the fishmen. While some advocate for discussion and consensus tensions run high in the wake of the scandal at the Trodjan Games. While not unanimous, the majority of dwarven leaders support Magdar’s actions as bold, dwarven, and necessary. The human leaders however disagree strongly, claiming his actions were dishonorable and threatened the stability and longevity of the Concordance. The heated arguments bleed into the matter of Khirus with the Seneschal and Duke cautioning diplomacy and Harlaus insisting on bold action. In an act of defiance Harlaus takes unilateral command of the Concordance forces and marches south to meet Khirus on the field of battle.
    • The treasonous assumption of military power by Harlaus is treated as an abdication of Concordance premiership and authority. The Duke of Bray, as the senior ruler to the newly elevated Seneshal of the Valleys, is named the King of the Concordance in Harlaus’ absence, though without the army and low support among the Azen just what exactly the former Duke reigns over remains to be seen.
    • As Initia begins to spread amongst the notable families of Bray more and more dwarven scholars and smiths from Azenhal leave their ancient city to meet and speak with the foreign mystics who speak of rational magic. While tensions are high between local dwarves and humans the foreigners from Regno receive fond treatment by both of their hosts. At times flattering the Regnans and monopolizing their time seems to be a competition between the dwarves and the humans of the region.
    • The Azen athlete who was awarded the Hammer of Trodje for his performance at the Trodjan Games, Ragno Stonbrook, presents the Hammer to King Harlaus en route to war in the south. Rune Scribes attest to its enchanted quality and the feel of it in one's hand made it obvious. It was a powerful tool, but one provided by former conquerors who had spurned a request for aid and feelings among the King's senior advisors are mixed. Before an official decision can be reached however, word arrives of the fishmen landfall in [Region 42.
    • High Commander Kordell Ironbender is given command of an Azen Legion and marches west to join the neighboring region's militia and provide leadership if needed. The dwarven troops contain many veterans from the expeditions into Fresia and bring an experience and familiarity with fighting the fishmen that is practically unparalleled. Surely, with the many deserters who recently arrived in the region and with dwarven support [Region 42's anarchic collective could sustain itself against the fishmen.
    • The Concordance merchants and mercenaries traveling to Carida are given guidance by the court of Parus II not to harm or rob human inhabitants of the region and only to drive the fishmen away from a sizable and defensible portion of farmland. Parus implores these adventurers to display the heroic side of the Concordance and propagate support among the local populace rather than fear. How these mercantile souls decide to act given such direction remains to be seen...

He's heard on at least one of these occasions shouting "ONE TO NEGATIVE FOUR!!" Another woman of the Chojo Clan that now calls herself Starbreather tries (and fails) to hide her mirth at Amidasu's antics. The two eventually disappear from Kunai lands entirely, leaving many to wonder what they've done or where they've gone.

This comes as a surprise to just about everyone, as no (known) record exists of such, though if anyone were to have such records, it would likely have been the Shushan. Chojo reaches out to [56], trying to determine how similar the two groups may be.

-A small fire begins near Amidasu lands, and quickly grows into a wildfire. Eventually, it is contained, but at the cost of several dozen lives. The cause is unknown, though many note that the Amidasu are well-known for dangerous, cavalier experiments with the True Language.

    News and Rumors
Spoiler: Meanwhile in Hosra, Part 3
    Show
As time passed, Kelios and the fishman continued their exchange, slowly bridging the communication barrier. Asides from long breaks where the creature was surely off ravaging more of Hosra, their sessions were frequent enough that while the thing's motives remained a mystery, his language was not.

Kelios had not been allowed to leave the storehouse all this time, and so had taken to making it less of a horrible mess. Over a long period of time she had managed to give all the corpses proper Perijanist burial rites and create a proper cooking pit to make the raw fish she was given by her monstrous guards more bearable. Many times she had planned to escape, but the fishmen were always present at her door and she did not wish to become their next meal.

One day as Kelios knelt before the grave of one of the warehouse's original corpses, the fishman who worked to bridge their languages entered. Though he spoke in his species' bizarre language, the priestess could at least understand what was being said. <Hello [person], are you [not sick]?>

Kelios found it amusing that she was now able to hold a conversation with a fish. Her old mentors would have found it funny, if they weren't most likely all dead by now. "No, I'm fine."

It took the fish a few seconds to process her words, during which his face scrunched up and he looked around at the floor before replying.
<This is good. We will go back to the...> the fish was once again lost in thought, realizing that it didn't actually know the name of the place they would return to. Eventually it just decided to finish its statement with <stone [person] building.>

Kelios rose with a start. "Do you mean the temple?"

The creature shrugged and said <Probably.>

In any case, it was a way to get out of the storehouse. "Of- of course. Lead the way."

    ***

The temple was much as she remembered it, though in the time it had been left unattended it had definitely deteriorated. Its doors were beginning to outweigh their hinges, moss was growing in much of its cracks, and its floors were coated in a fine layer of dirt. The main chamber had become less grand as well, the bloodstains faded but still visible on the floors and the likeness of Khompur. Being in the presence of the beings who had let her people be slaughtered by monsters brought a bit of bile up into her throat, but in the interest of not provoking her captors ahe did not make to leave the room.

The fishman leader walked to the center of the room, and like he had those many moons ago gestured to the statues and repeated that phrase which had spared Kelios' life. But now she could understand his gibberish, and suddenly everything fell into place. <Who are they?>

Such a simple question. Such a grand implication. These beasts have no idea what they're doing. All this blood, all this death... They're just animals hunting their food. As she stood in the chapel, the weight of it all fell upon her like a boulder. These creatures are chaos. I have to bring order to chaos or they'll do what they did here to every other realm of the world. Realizing that the leader was waiting on a response, she quickly composed herself and set about saving the world. "These are the gods who govern the world..."

    • The constant fleshling caravans have become their undoing, as they provide a trail leading straight to their lair. In the interest of maintaining our sense of direction, their thievery will go unpunished as they guide our spears straight to their heart.
    • Though they should really be fleeing about now, many in Carida (region 69) are determined to maintain their possessions in spite of the risks of living under a Pician occupation.
    • It would appear that the fleshlings are not just content stealing our resources, as they have begun also stealing our fellow Picians! This evil will not go unpunished and we will recover those who have been taken when we purge the fleshling lair.
    • Wadagle, a member of the council whose clan was instrumental in the conquest of the north, is said to have become obsessed with the statues enshrined in their temples. He has gone so far as to spare one of the fleshlings to discern their meaning! Why can't he just remain content with the holy mission of the Leviathan?

    The Kadangan Wetlands, Round 4
    Region 73

    Actions:
    1. [Economy] Buyout of TP #1 in Region 72
Lately, the Seretse have heard a lot of good things about Kavve, which is grown in large quantities east of Kadanga. Negotiations are started with the locals to allow for a Kadangan trade post to be established. Roll: 11
    2. [Economy] Buyout of TP #3 in Region 48
Having missed the chance to establish relations with the Empire in the Trodjan Games, the Kadangans try to do so via trade instead. They try to gain a share of wheat trade, as there's a high demand for the resource in Kadanga. Roll: 11
    3. [Faith] Make Jalyeong-bo the official religion
As it has been the traditional faith in the region for as long as the Seretse oral history extends, Jalyeong-bo is formalized as the official religion of the region. Simultaneously, a small set of common laws based on religious doctrine are agreed upon. How the practitioners of minority faiths react to this remains to be seen.
    4. [Faith]Convert RC #2 in Region 73 to Jalyeong-bo
The Perijanist faith of the goblins is a source of severe annoyance in certain circles. A few chiefs independently send their shamans to Njinkat to convert the urban populace back to Jalyeong-bo. Roll: 9
    5. [Military] Raise a unit
The decision to form the first ever united Kadangan army is passed. It's comprised of volunteers from the tribes, and is quickly armed with spears, clubs and slings and put under training.

    Nonactions:

    News and rumors:
    • The Kadangan delegation returns, shocked at what they saw in Wasipacha. Soon the events that have transpired are common knowledge in the region. But Odenege seizes the opportunity and turns these news into a warning: the Jarkana Confederacy was a decentralized entity, much like Kadanga is now. Because of this division of power their position is currently just as fragile, and they should take every step possible to avoid facing a similar fate. Thanks to the recent events his speech is met with massive endorsement, and soon the support for a stronger council is at an all-time high. Those tribes that had so far spurned the invitations of the council now come to join of their own volition, and in short order it is decided that the council’s powers will be extended to several domestic affairs.

Many of the city leaders pray for the safety of their children held in the court of Uxmal.
    • A drought in the year 112 has nearly caused the failure of the corn crop. Export shipments were slowed in response to the drying conditions.
    • Though much has changed since the rise of Dejan, many worry about the empire's resurgence. The fertile lands of the Empire's heart could spawn an army larger than any seen since the wars of the successors.
    • A city assembled completely of stone bricks has been found deep within the forests near the northern border. While its not uninhabited, it seems to be the location of a once great trading post.

The Imperial State of Varjik/The Firethorn Regiment
    Vassal of the Avakonian Empire

High Opstegos Amerah Kren the Liberator and Head Firethorn Captain
    Diplomacy: 4
    Military: 8
    Economy: 1
    Intrigue: 7
    Faith: 1

    Actions for Round 4:
    1. [Military] Raise a unit
The organized tribal military of region 53 may have been mainly defeated, but those groups that did not fight the empire are made to be integrated into the core military of the Firethorn Regiment. Their relatively unorganized techniques are honed, ranks are established, and many new faces join the command structure over the coming years.
    2. [Military] Invade region 4
The scouts for the Firethorn Regiment have been searching for regions that employ slavery and unjust behaviors, and it comes as no surprise to find that the faraway lands to the northwest employ them in all their glory. A search is conducted for the weakest link among them to gain a foothold, and Region 4 is selected thus. The warships of the empire are launched with the intention of installing a new Avakonian base of operations on the northern edge of the seas; a bastion for equality among peoples near and far. The Lady Captain Amerah intends to lead the initial charge herself before returning to her lands, commanding a fleet of roughly eight thousand men and intending to leave a garrison of two thousand after they've eliminated all opposition.

Sending four units lead by Amerah Kren (Military 8)
No technology, military specialization does not apply.

Spoiler: Army Pathing (2 Potential Distance Losses)
      Show

    3. [Military] Sack Region 62 TP2 (Slaves) [Success]
That the slaves would slip between the fingers of the regiment into what reports say are the clutches of southern 'fish-men' merchants is intolerable. They will be freed, weather their shackles are broken or their masters are slain. A sack is performed on one of the noble houses of the region, with the attempt to burn it to the ground and let the servants they keep free to do as they please across the land.
    4. [Military] Fortify Region 53
As order is swept into the coastal region of 53 and administration takes early roots, the vulnerability of the coastline to piracy and attacks is a weakness taken very seriously by the commanding officer of the area. He requests permission to construct a series of watchtowers along the edge to watch for hostile ships and warn the main fleet before any attacks arise. This notion gains much support with the growing fear of retaliation among slaver-peoples, and so the Regiment lends the might of the First Firethorn Engineering Corps to it's construction.
    5. [Faith] Convert Region 53, holy center two, to Dejanite faith [Failure]
A wave of magical crimes surge across Varjik after the acquisition of their northern neighbor and departure of the majority of their units. Those left to command in Amerah's absence are quick to use faith as their first defense as they hunt down the perpetrators, assuring the populace that the chosen warlord of Dejan had suffered through much worse than this and had never crumbled. Sedellan glass starts going for a phenomenally high price, while the actual effectiveness of the supposed 'divine protection' is yet to be seen.

    Spoiler: News and Rumors
    Show
    • The decision to take to the seas is one met controversially when the Regiment had already been fighting injustice much closer to their borders. Captains are frustrated with the result, but the inner circle claims that there is 'good reason' for her choice. Weather this is to return the former enemies of the Empire up north to their Avakonian servitude, a simply easier target for liberation, or a scheme to spark trade across the sea, none know for sure.
    • As the years pass it becomes increasingly unlikely that the regiment is going to reform into a monarchy as was originally planned. Amerah has named her successor to be an Avakonian commander by the name of Sofrid to take up the reigns if she should perish during her conquest to the north, who has an aptitude for making zealous declarations and taking bold risks.
    • With the influx of new blood to the Regiment, things are calm for a while.. But such rigorous recruitment processes are not sustainable without foreign labor forces to move in and start families. As men move out to war and less remain at home, the practice of polygamy starts to become a trend.

    Wuzei Darak
Ruler: Trin Bak and Her Council

    Actions:
    1. [Military] Raise another unit - named Merchant Marines
More news of war and unrest has reached the Darak through the new trade posts, alarming many elders and strengthening their call for greater defenses. Given the often vulnerable position of the traders in transit,
it was decided to train as many traders as possible as their own military unit in order to protect themselves without requiring an extra Darak on the already small trading ships.
    2. [Diplomacy] Attempt to unify the islands
A small festival is held on Tai Brk, inviting their neighbors from Region 76 in the hopes of strengthening ties and securing a marriage alliance. In this still forming world, the Darak are cautious to reach out to other expansionist nations, but the inhabitants of Region 76, who hold a historical cultural relationship to the Darak, are seen as a hopeful option for alliance.
    3. [Diplomacy] Marriage Alliance? Maybe?
With a successful festival, the council once again poses an offer of marriage to the eligible men of Region 76, only to be refused once again by the opposing council, who still trust in their ability to be overlooked by the more powerful nations (Roll 11). The Darak are beginning to grow restless with no other solid alliances...
    4. [Economy] Fail to claim trade post
In hopes of securing an even greater supply of copper, the Darak tried and failed to secure another trade post. Roll 7
    5. [Economy 5] Upgrade Resource
A monumental new discovery has been verified by the priests! Scattered reports by priests of odd Yo-Ke Squid activity and strange dreams have been confirmed by an elder priest, who awoke suddenly at high moon to be guided, as though in a trance, to gaze into the deepest part of the caldera. At that moment,
a starburst of blue light shone from the depths, the source of which a strange squid that had never been seen before. Larger than the Yo-Ke with dizzying patterns of spotted light all along their bodies, these squid were humming with such concentrated magic that wherever a spot of light pulsed along the body, a small flame briefly ignited, even underwater. Further investigation has found a large colony of these squid, named Huo-Ke, residing slightly apart from the Yo-Ke squid in a previously unknown chamber. The priests are now kept busy with taking care of these new squid, and searching for answers as to why the spirits have just now shown this remarkable creature to the Darak. Meanwhile, the warmongering members of the Darak have been delighted to learn that the small flames are able to survive outside the water and some distance away from the squid.

    The Avakonian Empire

    Empress Vana Rafæla Zhekurus
    Diplomacy: 10
    Economy: 3
    Faith: 2
    Military: 8
    Intrigue: 2

    1. [Diplomacy 10]Reform the Administration (CI becomes permanent, lose Callous Administration): Avakonia has long been in a state of decline. It's people suffer, as their supposed rulers, those meant to safeguard them and ensure their prosperity, grow fat on the suffering of their subjects. Bribes are standard fare for day to day life. The Sudarchis system has been made a farce, a broken shadow of the system it was intended to be. No longer! The time has come to reforge this Callous Administration into a system worthy to carry on the Legacy of the Preserver. New appointment procedures are drafted. The systems of inquiry, petition, and approval are rebuilt from the ground up, and implemented piece by piece as relics are removed.

It is the dawn of a new age. And so, the Empress decrees, the flag of the Empire should reflect that.

      Spoiler: New Flag Of Avakonia

    2. [Diplomacy]The Empress Marries!: Empress Vana Rafæla Zhekurus has taken a husband! The leader of the Amidasu clans and she have taken their vows, and the line of Andavent may be preserved. The Emperor Consort Amidasu, whom the Empress calls Duskshaper, now makes up half of the royal family of the most powerful empire in the known world. Long live the Emperor! And long live the Empire!
    3. [Diplomacy]Stabilize Region 16: In the wake of the reforms, there are high hopes that the discontent in [region 16] will subside.
    4. [Diplomacy]Stabilize Region 49: In the wake of the reforms, it is believed that the friction between the regional government and the people of [region 49] should be reduced to more typical levels.
    5. [Military]Invade Region 14 w/10 units and Mil8 Leader: The anarchy of [region 14] cannot be left unattended. Should it spread, the heart of Avakonia would be threatened, and with it, the entirety of the Empire. The Empress herself attends the fighting, intending to show her warrior heritage.
    6. [Intrigue]Purge the Sudarches: In any revolution, even one as simple as an Empress overturning a centuries-old, broken shell of a bureaucracy to sow new growth, there are those who would resist. Out of greed, out of fear, out of a misunderstanding of tradition...the cause of their disobedience, or potential for such, is unimportant. The Inquisition acts quickly, moving on the targets before they can react, to hide or flee the justice of the Empire. Some are never seen again. Some receive the dignity of a trial, and either exile or execution, depending on the extent of their crimes. Some few are allowed to take positions in the new administration, those whose outward loyalty burns most brightly. In time, they will likely be expunged as well, once their true colors show.
    7. [Intrigue]Promote Kunai Methods: The Empress has no spymaster. Not truly. Only Avakon itself can really boast any true security. This cannot last if the Empire is to remain intact. The Kunai clans of Kuniumi have skills in this matter; they can serve to educate the next generation of informants, and join the Inquisition. Though only Amidasu is willing, at the moment, this may change in future.

The Empress is often seen in the company of a muscular Kunai woman, it is said. A new bodyguard, perhaps,
provided by her husband's clan? But that would not explain the visits servants have seen between the two,
late at night. Given the preoccupation of the Emperor Consort with clan matters, it would be perfectly sensible and expected, even, for the Empress to have another for company through the nights. She is the Sunrise Queen,
after all; and what sun lacks a moon?

Unrest bubbles in response to the changes...it is perhaps a fortunate thing for the Empire that there are none with sufficient claim to the throne, for civil war might spark otherwise.

Region 50 has had a strange problem as of late. In the past few years, their crops have failed to grow for the entire year, leaving tensions high. Yet, on the last day of summer, all their crops seem to grow unnaturally fast. Whether this is mundane or not, it is regarded as both a blessing and a curse.
In [Region 65] there is apparently an old man, who was a serving boy at Dejan’s doomed feast. Apparently, he has taken to hermitage, yet has quite the memory of the events. Whether he is truthful or not is another question.

    Lacia Fluff
Action 1: Organize the Pantheon of Ildia
On an early morning after a long meeting at the council of Graminaofa from the previous day, the council elected to have a prayer circle unlike any before it. They suspended the Mouthpiece Pacian by ropes from the trees above a large prayer circle of sand. Wielding an Amm attached to each of his fingers and a cloth over his eyes. Council members burned Feth leaves around the prayer circle as Pacian worked away with his blind sand sketches. After an hour, a distant rumbling was heard. The sun did not rise as early as usual that day, but the moon lit up the early morning with the grace of Folursing. A large wind gushed through the meadow, extinguishing the little light that the Feth Leaves provided to the circle. This light was not necessary, though as the circle was lit up by a great light unlike any other. The mother god of Ildia had arrived in her full glory. In her humanoid form, the Folursing stood hundreds of meters tall and emanated warm light from her very soul which was so large that it encompassed them. Thousands of spirits from the realms of Fortrén stood around the gathering, glowing a soft green. "My people," said the tenor voice of Folursing, "My children. All of the people of Emjata are my sons and daughters, though you, I hold in high esteem as the believers. All who believe in the powers of the Pantheon of Ildia will see the light in their dreams and know it as truth." Folursing picked up Pacian, removing him from the ropes binding him to Emjata."My Son," she said as she morphed into her bear form. The great golden bear stood their and bellowed a roar. Her cry of glory echoed through the lands of Lacia for miles around. The god of protection of the newborn pantheon marched away from the area and returned to her realm as she marched to the sea and swam away.
In the early lights of that day, the engravings of Pacian became visible. In Tribetongue, an inscription meaning "This is the Era of Ildia" surrounded a detailed drawing of an egg which was covered with illegible inscriptions.
After the passing of Pacian, the council selected Pacian's husband, Daran to be the next mouthpiece, as he was the closest to Pacian's wisdom.

    Actions 2-4: Fluff
    The Egg of Ildia.
Daran, husband to Pacian wanted to honour Pacian's sand circle, so he spent many years searching for the egg with inscriptions-the Egg of Prosperity. With the helping hand of Folursing, the speed of Echeler, and the strength of Fortren, Daran and five others searched the lands of Lacia for the Egg of Prosperity. By the end of the year 114, the team figured out where the egg had to be, but did not yet fully obtain it.

If you want a new ruler in the next round, you must state so in your action post for this round and link to their rolls. Rules Alerts & Changes!
Crossing ocean now counts as four extra regions of movement.
    Growth!
The coasts of [Region 24] have long suffered by the hands of the Gwitna. Now, under their rule, they choose not to suffer any longer. Instead, they show their new lords what those constant raids have produced; a hardy people, well learned at fighting off ocean-borne bandits and others of their ilk. If Lord Ferreth can use this boon, he may have everything he needs to accumulate the makings of empire; for while theft is good for the acquisition, it can be harder to keep…
In the absence of the Shushan, the people of Kuniumi are uncertain of the new social order, and of the ability of the Kunai to persist and leave their mark in the world. Fortunately, the Satsujin have the means to assuage their fears: disappearances. While most societies would find this more disturbing, for the Kunai it is a sign that life has returned to normal, and that it is safe to go back to the comfortable routine of subterfuge, assassination, and blackmail. Region 54 is no longer in Unrest.

    Trade!
At long last the Dvatlan merchants have achieved success in their endeavors. With greater understanding of Iadeshian culture came greater understanding of the proper arguments to use to convince the camel merchants. A bit of pressure from the higher-ups of Regno brought a successful deal, and the Dvatlan King shall have his camel cavalry.
Seafood is often scare in the heart of the desert. Umbo Iadesh sees in his unity with Regno an opportunity to acquire some, and requests Regnan merchants to assist him in completing a deal with [Region 10]. They suggest purchasing from the islanders rather than the mainland, and push through a deal that gets Umbo his Dragon Shrimp. Regnan experience shows itself elsewhere in Regner, too, as Magnus Scruto’s discovery of an untapped sapphire mine shows. In an expert move, [Region 9] is given official ownership of the mine, but all of its products seem to find their way to Regno.
It seems that Coatl merchants’ years of experience attempting to acquire metal have finally paid off, as the Concordance of Azenhal agrees to provide them with iron. With the shortage of local metals now assuaged, tools and weapons may once again be set to work for Coatl.
The ships of Izbefe cannot be built without wood. Luckily, King Balder negotiates a deal before returning to war, and those shipwrights who once cried out for blood now quiet down as timber from Anham is supplied to them.
In the far south the priests of Wuzei Darak make a startling discovery - strange squids much larger than the Yo-Ke, contained in a previously unknown chamber beneath the depths. Seemingly, these Huo-Ke squid can even produce flames along and around their bodies, and they are the object of great interest from many.
The strategists of the Whitefeather Kingdom welcome many from Tafer into their ranks, who bring a novel idea: flight under another’s power. Keat takes a liking to the idea, and on hearing of the reorganization of the Linnadi Wingknights he opens a contract to acquire their steeds and training.

Following the miracle at Mount Ayam, the Federation of Amham appears to have done the impossible and has put some form of order to the chaotic variety of beliefs that form the foundations of Jaelong-Bo. (Jaelong-Bo is now Organized)
Though faith in Jaelong-Bo is held by the majority of the populace of [Region 1], their conquerers from Amhm think that this is not enough. Over the course of a year the spirits are able to siphon more and more followers from the Abhidic monks of the region until eventually they are the sole power revered in the region. (Holy Center 3 of Region 1 is converted to Jaelong-Bo)
The heroic actions of Amham in the face of the eruption of Mount Ayam have spurned many to turn their attention to matters of faith. However, rather than seeing the intended message of Jaelong-Bo's righteousness, the government of Dvalta has chosen to focus on their own religious beliefs. Though having had no prior experience with religious expansion, the preachers of Dvalta prove to be adepts at their field and are able to convert some in [Region 11] to their way of thinking. (Holy Center 3 of Region 11 is converted to Unicode Spam Telir Geza)
With local interest in Inertia growing in the southern Concordance of Azenhal, the speakers of Regno feel that this is a wonderful opportunity to establish a foothold in the continent of Palmor. Much of the populace that had previously held faith in the divinity of Dejan begin to see the error of their ways and flock to the wisdom of Inertia in the hopes that it will be able to stop granting the Pician menace a constant movement towards their lands. (Holy Center 2 of Region 71 is converted to Inertia Initia)(edited)
Closer to home, the speakers of Initia seek to consolidate their hold on the populace of Izbefe. With the support of the regional government, the speakers are able to easily sway the adherents of Jaelong-Bo to a more rational system of thought as Initia becomes the only remining major practice in the region. (Holy Center 2 of Region 6 is converted to Initia)
Following their previous failure to establish a presence in [Region 53], the Kunai Clans do not give up in their quest to spread their system of thought to the east. Once more the people of the region laugh their beliefs off as nonsense, though behind closed doors for fear of angering the new Emperor of Avakonia. (Conversion Failure)
Hearing that there actually are some who share their beliefs on a western island, the Kunai Clans are excited to more regularly integrate their faith into the rest of the region. However, when they arrive, they quickly realize that the presence of like-minded individuals will not make their reception different to that which they received in [Region 53]. The targeted followers of Jaelong-Bo in [Region 56] are quick to shrug off the Kunai's attempts to sway them, resulting in yet another failed conversion. (Conversion Failure)
The far southern realm of the Kadangan Wetlands has declared Jaelong-Bo to be their new state religion. Accompanying this declaration is an attempt to increase their country's religious unity by converting the Perijanists within their lands, however they continue to deny the truth of the spirits and retain their original faith. (Conversion Failure)
The priests of Coatl once again return to the land of Ti Linnad, seeking to solidify their grip on the rest of the region's populace. The government of the region seeks the same thing, and so actively encourages its spread amongst the populace. In a matter of several months the Linnadi have all been turned to Coatl, as Orthodox Perijanism may as well be extinct within the region. (Holy Centers 1 & 2 are converted to Coatl Perijanism)
In a bizarre turn of events, rogue elements within the administration of the Firethorn regiment have decided to attempt to convert the new addition to their domain to the heretical practices of the Cult of Dejan. Since this practice is viewed as heretical by the Perijanist Empire, the people of the region naturally rejected the notion and held true to the guidance of Perijanism. (Conversion Failure)
Though the realm of Lacia has mostly been silent in recent years, one very significant development is the formalization of the Pantheon of Ildia that has gained traction within the Whitefeather Kingdom. What this means for the Palmor subcontinent is unknown, as the holy land of Coatl finds itself surrounded on all sides by a significant threat to its religious dominance of the area. (Pantheon of Ildia is now organized)

In Ti Linnad, a revival is taking place. The secrets of the Wingknights of old and their styles of Pegasus training were once a technique available only to the extremely elite, and reserved as an honor position. No longer. Wingknights are now assigned as commanders and cavalry contingents in every company, and the captains of Ti Linnad could not be happier about the quality of their reconnaissance squadrons.
Under the leadership of Fëkälis, the Dvatlan army marches west once more. The king manages to avoid a pitched battle at the border, where the river might be used against him once again, and the defenders retreat to the wilderness, hoping to use their knowledge of the terrain against their foes. The Dvatlans have learned from their mistakes, however, and ranging parties manage to find most of the traps before they are sprung. Rather than avoid these, Fëkälis takes the opportunity to set up traps of his own, walking into the mouth of each ambush fully prepared to meet it. By year’s end, the cities of [Region 10] are sending tribute.

Caught off guard by the expansion of Khirus to the south, the south the lords of Azenhal, perhaps too quickly, march south to meet this new threat. In response, the Kindred raise an army of ghouls and orcish mercenaries to meet the sudden invasion at a mountain pass between the two regions. After several skirmishes on the border between the two regions the armies meet at a choke point on the border of region 41. For three days and three nights the army of Azenhal attempts to break to defense of Khirus and for 3 days Khirus holds fast despite heavy casualties. On the fourth night, Khirus’s vampiric reserves charge exhausted dwarves, forcing a retreat, though the victory is hard-won.

Though they had heard rumors of the atrocities heaped upon their neighbors, the residents of [Region 42] could not have been prepared for the horror they witnessed. The Picians struck with a speed and ferocity of a summer storm, and left as much devastation behind. Marching to meet their attackers, the forces drummed up by the local cities were quickly encircled and trapped on a hill, leaving their charges to surrender or be captured over the following months. Desperate, tired and hungry, the main army attempted to break its encirclement one final time, in an all-out charge against the Pician line.

Unprepared for war, much less the Firethorne Regiment, the warlords and chiefs of the region scramble to assemble a ragtag force of allied gangs, local militia, and mercenaries to meet this new foe. In the ensuing campaign, however, the mobility and discipline of the Regiment’s soldiers proves decisive, allowing the liberators to take many key coastal hubs before the defenders can respond. Eager to prevent anarchy from spilling across its borders Avakon has brought its might to bear on the former league of white sails. While Avakonian victory was certain from the outset, keeping order in such a large force while enforcing it on every walled city and petty warlord proved more difficult than envisioned. Desertion, winter sieges, and fighting to the last man seemed more the norm than the exception. Significant difficulties in Azenhal’s supply lines have been cropping up lately; whether this is due to trying to supply so many fronts or simply the result of the violence in the local area is uncertain, but it seems unlikely that they will be able to hold so many soldiers at the ready for long, if it keeps up.

A landslide in Ti Linnad ruins many homes in a place not well known for them.

Glen Gwitna gains a claim on region 25!

The connoisseurs of wood among the Gwitna are unsatisfied with only their own. Targeting the producers rather than the source, a House Beaver raiding party arrives in [Region 46] in search of a lumberyard. They follow a group of woodsmen back to their camp and, using the cover of darkness to exaggerate their numbers, quickly intimidate the foresters into supplying the much-wanted Golden Yew.
No land under the Picians’ fin remains secure, as the experienced raiding forces of Azenhal travel to Carida. Within a few days their commander chooses their target: a vast field of maize just a few kilometers from the sea. Upon arrival, however, they find none of the fish-men that they were expecting - only a few farmers, who want mostly to be left alone. The commander seizes the fields anyway and begins to fortify them, though only time will tell if the retribution the farmers speak of comes to pass.
In [Region 62] the activities of the Firethorn Regiment have brought panic and disturbance to the slave traders. Looking for easier markets with less interference, some lay their eyes on Carida, finding good prices and no questions asked by their eastern neighbors. While few know the ultimate fate of the slaves they provide, the Underground Road begins to collapse, and that is good enough for most. Those few slavers who do know, though, shy away from Carida: even they are unwilling to help feed the Picians.

"...And this one is Reiba, the goddess of the sea-"

"<Why is the sea god prey?>" Kelios' Pician listener interjected. He had listened to her speak about Khompur and some of other gods respectfully, but when she came to explain the sea god the Pician leader was clearly irked. "<The lord of the sea must be fierce, whales aren't fierce, they're prey.>"

Putting the question of how on earth these things were strong enough to consider whales of all things 'prey' aside, Kelios tried to explain. "Well, whales are the greatest creatures of the sea-"

"<No they aren't! Whales are the [poop] of great creatures!>" the Pician interrupted, getting angrier by the second. He had listened to Kelios before when the talk was of foreign gods, but perhaps his offendedness was rooted in familiarity of a sea god?

To avoid making the Pician even more enraged than he already was, Kelios quickly changed the subject. "So if whales are not the greatest creatures of the sea, what are?"

The Pician's mood instantly improved. "<The greatest creature of the sea is the Leviathan, of course!>" He then turned to one of his Pician followers who had been loitering at the door. "<Go get some sand!>" Jumping to attention, the Pician rushed out of the room and returned with his hands cupped around a pile of sand a minute later. He deposited the small pile at the feet of his master before hurriedly returning to his loitering spot.

Much as he had done in the village warehouse, the Pician knelt and traces a drawing in the sand with his scaly finger. After a short time, he had drawn what appeared to be a three-headed serpent among the grains. "<This is the Leviathan. He created all life and bestows his blessings upon the Pician race.>"

So this was their god. Some kind of omnipotent Sea Serpent. But if they weren't godless, why would they commit such atrocities upon the surface-dwellers? "If your... 'Leviathan' created all, why does he command you to commit such evils upon his creations of the surface?"

Now that the conversation had turned to his liking, the Pician replied to Kelios eagerly. "<Our holy mission is to purge the surface realms so that the Leviathan may reclaim his creation by plunging the earth underwater, as he has done to our new home.>"

Kelios was clearly unnerved by this revelation. "Wha- What do you mean, 'purge the surface realms?'"

Still grinning his fishy grin, the Pician nonchalantly replied "<The extermination of the fleshlings, of course!>" From across the room his fish friend cried out agreement before returning to fiddling with his spear.

Kelios' gaze was drawn to the bloodstained statue of Khompur. This wasn't a wild animal rage. This relentless murder was their religion."But... but..." Realizing just how in over her head she was in terms of reforming these monsters, Kelios desperately searched for a way to instill some doubt in this fanatic. Eventually the Pician turned to her and cocked his head to the side, questioning her sudden pause. She had to think of something now. Anything to drag things out. "But why would the Leviathan want to destroy his creations on the surface?" Kelios mentally slapped herself. Stupid, stupid, stupid! He's a fanatic, that won't solve anything!

But as she internally reviled herself for what she perceived to be a bad move, the Pician notably had no reply. He just stood there perplexed, staring down at his sandy art. The Pician gurgled a bit, and then replied "<Because the Speaker says so...>"?

Uncertainty. Good. "And how many of your kind have died blindly following your Speaker's directives?" For all Kelios knew, not a single Pician had died in their quest to dominate all life. But war was costly, and with the Picians' swarm tactics it was highly likely that they had incurred heavy losses in campaigns outside of Hosra.

By now the Pician's disturbing glee had evaporated and his face began to contort in confusion. Eventually, he spoke. "<...Too many. Mlagarblargle has declared a crusade against the eatern fleshlings, and in the last battle nearly a half of our army was killed.>" His tone was now somewhat somber, if that could be said of his bizarre language.

Kelios pressed her advantage. "A god who would send so many of your kind to their deaths can't be good. Clearly the Leviathan is-"

"<No! The Leviathan is the patron of our race, he is nothing but good for us. Clearly this corrupion is rooted elsewhere...>" While not the result Kelios was looking for, the Pician acknowledging the horror of their view was still enormous progress. Suddenly the Pician leader's confusion snapped into understanding. He walked over to the bloodstained statue of Khompur and flung his finger out in his direction before turning back to Kelios. "<It must be this one's fault! Our oldest traditions have taught us that earth spirits are not to be trusted, clearly this 'Khompur' has corrupted Speaker Mlagarblargle's path!>"

"But Khompur is the ruler of the gods, how would he be responsible?"

The Pician scoffed, cleansed of his crisis of conviction. "<What you call a ruler, I would call a tyrant. It is the Leviathan who must transcend this demon and rule over the gods!>"

"And what of Reiba? It is she who is the goddess of the seas, where does this leave the Leviathan?"

Calm once more, the Pician thoughtfully replied "<Perhaps our views are not as distanced as we thought. What you call a> 'phlour' <I call [flower]. What you call> 'Reiba' <I call [The Leviathan]. It must be that your Reiba and my Leviathan are one and the same.>"

This was going more and more downhill by the minute. Kelios was trying to convert this creature, and here he stood spouting blasphemy upon blasphemy! "What you're saying is wrong... Reiba is beneath Khompur, and Khompur shepherds his flock with benevolenc-"

"<If Khompur is good, why would he not save your people?>"

That stung more than the Pician thought it would. The gods had abandoned Hosra to its fate... But no! They couldn't have! Jabbing back, Kelios shouted "Then where was your Leviathan to stop you from committing your evils?!"

Still calm, the Pician merely replied "He has. He delivered me to you."

    • It would seem that the people of our western shores have started giving us fleshlings of their own accord. While this is really great because they recognize their inferiority, there's too much metal stuff to eat around. Throughout Fresia piles of the discarded metal implements are growing as more and more fleshlings are consumed.
    • In the Picians' haste to sack the fleshling lair, [Region 42] is spared from the usual atrocities committed by victorious Picians. Mlagarblargle is known for being especially ruthless against the heathens, so for an army directed by his hand to pass this opportunity up is a shocking testament to the Picians' lust for revenge.
    • Hosra seems to be coming closer and closer to erupting into chaos; it would appear that fear of the Picians is finite, and without sufficient forces being dedicated to fighting these rogue elements it is likely that the region will soon reclaim its sovereignty.
    • The ruling council has become divided in regards to its view of Mlagarblargle. It would appear that the surface realm is much greater than he had anticipated, and with every new fallen Pician doubt begins to seep even deeper. Wadagle, after a long time spent in Hosra, is beginning to openly express dissatisfaction with the reigning Speaker - his unilateral seizing of military power is a cause for great concern as the council begins to hold less and less relevance. The origin of this borderline treasonous talk is unknown, but many expect it has something to do with his 'pet' fleshling.
    • Forward scouts for the invasion of the fleshling lair have some back with disturbing news. The path the traders take ends in a great mountain belching black clouds. These portents make many Picians uneasy, but the leadership of Mlagarblargle stirs them into action once more as we near our glorious victory over the surface realms!
    • Something is wrong - the flow of free food from Carida has slowed. As the Picians begin to enter a state of agitation towards the fleshlings of Carida, the people themselves become very nervous as the Firethorn Regiment puts their plan to end the slave trade in [Region 62] into action. The Caridan aristocracy begins to conspire with local slavers to reinstate the flow of meat to the Picians, with some whispering about possibly extending the protection of the Picians to their businesses. It is unlikely that these whispers will come to fruition with the full might of Avakonia backing the Firethorn Regiment, but aristocrats in both regions can certainly dream...
    • Though they still hold the Leviathan in high regard, a strange foreign faith with multiple gods seems to have corrupted pure worship of the Leviathan in councilmember Wadagle's clan. Wadagle himself denies this fervently, but many begin to think that his pet fleshling holds too much sway over him.

[Military - Invade 55 - 5 units - Led by Mumei (Military 4)]: The Yasei Clan strikes out on their own, claiming that the coastal island to the west of Kuniumi are the ancestral homelands of their people, citing the presence of Honmyo believers. They must be reunited, and this necessitates taking the rest of the coast first to reach them.

While possible, this is ludicrously unlikely, and Mumei fumes at the pathetic excuse. However, the Yasei are Kunai, and so Mumei sends aid and - though she publicly does not show it - lends personal aid and advice to the Yasei's attempt at war. Of course, so much can happen on the battlefield... and Yasei is such an old man...

[Military - Raise 1 unit]: As the Yasei Clan attempts to strike out, Chojo rouses up the people of Kuniumi, claiming that if the attack goes forward, then the coastal peoples will surely retaliate.

[Faith - Covert 56 - Holy Center 2 (Honmyo) - Roll (11)]: Attempting convert the Jaelyong-bo has proven somewhat difficult. Somewhat incensed, the Kunai turn to the Honmyo followers in the region already, and ask for their aid in spreading knowledge of the True Names. Surely, they reason, locals would have an idea of how to convince their brethren?

    Apparently f#@$ing not.

[Faith - Convert 53 - Holy Center 2 (Honmyo) - Roll (13)]: Noting the apparent fear of imperial reprisal, the Kunai assure those they speak with that such a reprisal against those who refuse to convert would never be condoned by the Emperor-Consort, nor the Empress. After all, it's not like the Kunai are being laughed at behind closed doors, is it?

[Economy - Buyout Trade Post 2 - Avakonia (16, Marble) - Roll (12, +2 from Avakonia?)]: Amidasu negotiates directly with the marble merchants in Avakonia, making it clear why marble is needed in Kuniumi. The Emperor's word is fairly persuasive, he reasons, and would surely assist in smoothing over any potential issues with such trade.

-Emissary, from the Satsujin Clan, is sent to Regno in order to learn of Initia and to teach the Magi of the Runes. At first he is very secretive and guarded, the kind of quiet that is difficult to trust. As time passes, however, he begins to open up; Regno is remarkably friendly and honest, at least compared to home.

-Speaker Tutum Sortis is initially welcomed by the Kunai, especially the Amidasu and Chojo clans. Mumei of the Satsujin takes a personal interest in his teachings, and becomes an avid student. However, as the Speaker continues to teach, the Kunai become more and more suspicious and uncomfortable; the man's approach to the runes is... unnerving. Almost blasphemous.

    News & Rumors
    Spoiler
    Show
    • Reports from the frontlines initially bring news of King Harlaus’ victory against the dark forces spilling from the kingdom of Khirus. However, before real action is taken in response to this news further information arrives that discredits these initial reports. Harlaus is soundly defeated in Khirus and forced to retreat, losing a quarter of his army in the scrum. Kordell, sent west to face the Picians fares worse, his small task force decimated alongside the native defenders of the region despite their training to meet the fishman threat in combat. The remains of the Concordance Army is shaken by the back to back defeats and loyalty wavers. When Parus II presents himself to the defeated dwarf lords as the new king of the Concordance a sizable portion of the army, the humans near unanimously though including some dwarves, support the Duke’s claim.
    • The three leaders of the Concordance meet behind closed doors to discuss the matter of their alliance and government. Beset to the south and the west by supernatural enemies wielding dark magiks and worshiping forgotten gods the prospect of civil war within the Concordance is seen by all involved as a recipe for total loss. It would be no trouble for those of Khirus, or worse yet the fishmen, to send armies to clean up after whichever faction emerged victorious in such a conflict and ruling over a bed of ashes at the foot of a foreign tyrant is universally rejected. Parus lays both the defeats suffered by the army at the feet of Harlaus and his unilateral seizure of power as well as the subsequent losses now to come from this two-front war. For on this the three agree, the Concordance is now openly at war with the fishmen of Fresia and the ghouls of Khirus and no peace will be called for. Harlaus insists the army continue to press the fight, focusing everything on the fishmen in [Region 42] where the army’s training will excel. Unfortunately for Harlaus and his supporters his miserable failure in Khirus has shaken the faith of the army and the human alliance prevails. Parus is officially recognized as the new King of the Concordance and receives a public act of recognition from the dwarven lords as the army is ordered to withdraw to a defensive position.
    • With the fishmen now squatting in [Region 42] there’s ample opportunity for adventuresome types to make a good living as a Licensed Merchanter, a so-called “protector of commerce” enabled by writ to represent guildhouse interests in unstable regions. In this case, jobs rapidly appear and are filled by veterans, deserters, and raw recruits looking to make a good living fast with a sword in their hand. While official guidelines instruct representatives of the Guild to use violence only against fishmen and to secure trade routes with locals “for a pre-negotiated fee” few Guilds bother to enforce these as rules. As such these so-called Licensed Merchanters flow into [Region 42] like a pack of bandits and thieves offering “protection” from fishmen for a fee with lethal penalties if not paid. Surely a good number of the fish abominations are put down but the Guilds primarily concern themselves with the number of shipments of the region’s curious Shadow Flax that arrive back home, regardless of the methods employed.
    • Unsure still with what to do with the Hammer of Trodje it is shipped north in the care of it’s victor, Ragno Stonbrook, to the Concordant outpost in [Region 22] led by Guild Mistress Agnet Moonhammer. The Hammer is to be presented as a gift from the Crown for Agnet’s enterprising work so far outside Azenhal. The Guild Mistress expresses her incredible flattery though those among her inner circle recognize the awkwardness of the gift from the Avakonian Empire now regifted by the recently deposed regime. Nonetheless, the enchanted hammer is taken on by Agnet as a badge of office and Ragno joins her court as an advisor (though rumors suggest a more scandalous relationship). While many locals who work as members of Agnet’s guild initially question the validity of tales of the hammer’s enchantment over the next few months expenses seem to slowly decrease while revenues increase without explanation. The changes can be tracked but no definitive source identified.
    • Ambassadors are dispatched quietly to the Whitefeather Kingdom. Rumor has it that Harlaus reached out to the northern kingdom during his ill fated adventure south and west seeking aid but received no reply. Court rumors suggest Parus is hoping the defensive posture being assumed by the Concordance and a supposedly quite generous deal will entice the Kingdom to commit to some manner of alliance. The Kingdom is one of the few trading partners of the Concordance raising their esteem. Not only that, the Whitefeathers had made proclamations against the fishmen, or perhaps they were against Avakonia doing nothing about the fishmen, but they at least implied something should be done. Still, the Kingdom has appeared hesitant to commit action to its words. Hopefully that will change after negotiations.
    • Veterans from the mercenary legions of the Coatl Cobra Militia and Scaled Magpies who retired after their first contract was up under Harlaus have begun to settle in the Maltey Valleys as iron traders, linking up with importers from their homeland. The hardened outsiders become powerful tools employed by the Maltey Tribes in their competition with one another. Many Coatl men find themselves recipient to more than one beautiful young wife and a trove of wine and furs in exchange for holding some obscure landmark or another in the name of the patron tribe and providing iron to them. The men are not lords for they do not issue orders, such power is reserved to the village elder seneschals, but they are landed men providing and protecting a resource in one tribe's name or another. Reports of this cushy life has many who remained in the army and now face the oncoming onslaught of ghouls and fishmen regretting their decision to re-enlist.
    • Though disgraced publicly Harlaus pleads with Parus in private to employ an aggressive strategy. The dwarf may have been defeated in battle employing a similar strategy and he makes no qualms that it will likely lead to more lost lives again, but he insists it will be for the best. Of course, his presumption relies once more on the arrival of the Whitefeather forces. Whether they can be counted on to arrive in force or merely send their legendary general and a token brigade remained to be seen. Parus agrees to employ the strategy, against his better judgment, and simultaneously devotes the full budget to recruitment and training in Bray and names Rishard Whidden Marshall of the Concordance armies. The Marshall does not yet move against the King's directions.
    • Scouts for the ambush parties sent south and west to undermine the invasion report a massive force of fishmen sweeping into the region like a horde of locusts. The gilled abominations are reported to be killing, rending, and eating every village and town they come across and the veteran rangers are visibly shaken by the experience. Marshall Whidden at last breaks with the council on tactical considerations, declaring the lands of Maltey, Bray to be effectively forfeit though Azenhal may yet be defended. The two front war bleeding in from two borders leaves the Marshall with little choice and he orders an evacuation of the region and organizes the army to escort civilians east into unoccupied lands. King Parus and the former king Harlaus elect to remain behind that they may face the enemy from the deep alongside the army, praying they might turn the tide. With the absence of its two other members and chaos preventing succession Seneschal Bram Tywil ascends to premiership over his fleeing countrymen.

    News And Rumours

At the head of a large army, Kiolo Pinkfeather is met by the Azehal King, noting the city is about to be attacked by one of the largest hordes seen by any Inyoni. Arriving early, Pinkfeather takes command, and organises what he hopes will be a succesful defence, as numbers are for once on their side.

There are rumours around the Whitecrest gardens that the heiress has met a few times with a child of the High Magus. While no one has managed to follow up on these rumours. Nonetheless, with the birth of what seems to be a hawk-'blessed' child from House Dawntalon, all houses are beginning to look out on foreign houses, to expand their influence in the Crescent.

Riola Greybeak, ambassador to Regno has sent many a letter home, depicting the strange locale of Regno, and their sheer wonder at the curse/blessing. A few enterprising souls are attempting to create ballads out of these, though so far they have either disappeared, or been ridiculed for their poor singing.

While it has been a while in coming, house Whitefeather, with assistance from house Greybeak and tacitly from Dawntalon has begun to refer to the Inyoni 'thing' as a 'blessing' in all official material, and at all times. It is hoped that, eventually, that the Inyoni will no longer be besmeaked by the title of 'the cursed.'

    The Kadangan Wetlands, Round 5
    Region 73

    Actions:
    1. [Diplomacy] Press claim on Region 74
-Having mostly unified Kadanga, Odenege now proposes the formation of a larger confederacy with the people of Region 74. This gets a mixed response, but eventually the majority are for it. Odenege and a few of his associates depart to negotiate with the leaders of Region 74. Roll: 13

-Discouraged but not dejected, another attempt at securing a supply of Kavve is made. Roll: 11

    3. [Economy] Buyout of TP #2 in Region 39
-A few of the goblin traders have heard good things about a resource called Allspice, originating from the southern tip of Palmor. They eagerly fund an expedition to gain a share of its trade. Roll: 15

    4. [Faith] Convert RC #2 in Region 73 to Jalyeong-bo
-Now that Jalyeong-bo is the official religion of the nation, a stronger emphasis on it being shared by all its denizens is made. Some prominent council member promise to vouch for goblin membership in the council if they convert. Roll: 10

    5. [Faith] Convert RC #1 in Region 72 to Jalyeong-bo
-Along with the traders a number of shamans depart for Region 72, intent on reminding the people there of their obligations to the spirits. Roll: 8

    News and rumors:
    • Tensions in the council meetings have increased lately. This is because many of the clans that joined it at an early point argue that they should gain special privileges over those that only started taking part recently. Some of the representatives have threatened to have their clan leave the council if the clans aren't treated equally.
    • Odenege and Kodora have often been seen conversing together since returning from the Amham Federation. This has puzzled many, as their resentment for each other was common knowledge before the trip.

    Ti Linnad
    Leader: Premier Lira Jinna

    Actions:

    1. [Military] Invade [Region 22] with 4 units under Sennu Moku (4 units, Mil 8, Wingknights, +13 total)
Tyranny cannot be allowed to last, not as long as it brings harm to any creature in Emjata. The soldiers of Ti Linnad return to face their old foe, bearing vengeance for the people of Uhraidali.

    2. [Diplomacy] Rebuild Arfordir [1/2]
Though Pervian's invasion of the Green Coast was stopped, it left destruction in its wake. Many good Jallish spearmen fell, and the northern farmsteads are devastated. The Council arranges for food, building materials, and labor to help restore Arfordir, as must be done before any reach to greatness.

    3. [Diplomacy] Provide aid to the victims of the landslide in Uhraidali
The machinations of the villainous leader of [Region 22] have left many good Linnadi dead, and many without homes as the harsh winter approaches. But unity will always prevail. Within only a few months, much of the rubble is cleared. Those who lost their lives are given a proper burial, and houses are rebuilt along the ravine floor.

    4. [Economy] Buyout Incense TP 2 in the Inyoni Crescent [Region 45]: 18
An informal agreement seems to have been struck with the Whitefeather Kingdom. In exchange for access to the renowned Linnadi pegasi, shipments of incense begin to cross the sea to the Highlands, soon finding use in temples from Caleilen to Calloford.

    5. [Economy] Buyout Porphyra TP 1 in Arfordir [Region 20]: 10
With the nobles of Arfordir represented in the Council, Linnadi merchants take a strong interest in Porphyra snails and begin negotiations with the traders of Holt Selia. Unfortunately, the snail farmers find their current situation more favorable, and the merchants return largely empty-handed.

    • The southern city of Uhraidali has long been regarded as one of the safest places in the Highlands; quiet, peaceful, home to the largest local shrine to Trodje, and at the bottom of one of the deepest ravines. Though landslides had once been a concern in the area, recent surveying and measurements declared the ravine to be perfectly stable - making its recent collapse all the more shocking. A special investigation under the Council found clear evidence that saboteurs had tunneled beneath the ravine edges to cause the landslide, and there is only one person who would order such a horrible tragedy: the neighboring tyrant of [Region 22]. Uhraidali shall be avenged!
      .
    • The remaining military forces in Arfordir, primarily spearmen and archers, are consolidated over the course of 115 and 116 into the 1st Forest Company.
      .
    • News quickly reaches the priesthood that a great sign of Coatl's power has been received. While the display cements faith in Coatl, Linnadi traditions mix into the revitalized religion. In particular, Trodje remains a chief deity of the Linnadi, though he is now seen as an aspect of Coatl, and the radical monotheism which has sprung up in the southeast barely spreads to Ti Linnad.
