Land of the 6 Kingdoms 2: Please Let This Be A Normal Interdimensional Field Trip

The next morning, servants bring you early to get a small breakfast and then you are escorted to the Whinylight.

Honey is with you and excited!

" Oh, it's going to be so much fun! "

Rocket seem... happier this morning. He jokes around with his sister and the return to the Whinylight mood is much more better then the trip to Rocket's family housing.

Clever Plan and Honey Breeze direction you guys to a distant south direction. The air around becomes hot, the tropical island they lead you is big and the sand is white.

From the Whinylight, you could see also a white mansion a bit further then the airport.

The crew start unleading in a very fast and efficient way... Honey Breeze suddenly become another pony entirely, ordering ponies around and acting like a true leader.

Rocket seem to have his own trailer and his own crew taking care of him, including a stylish and assistant who seem to have a crush on him.

Their is a few things to do to prepare for the publicity shooting that you guys can help with:

a) special effects

b) camera and sound

c) becoming a assistant for the actors.

... or you could even mess around. Tanning on the beach, playing beachball, swimming with the fishes etc.

"I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I'm sorry!"

Mossy went on muttering this for much of the morning. She begged to be left behind that she may clean up the terrible mess. But that was what the servants were for and she was all but forced onto the Whinnylight.

She remained secluded in her room for the entirety of the short ride, feeding Venderbright and nuzzling his fuzzy white antennae. Some of her air sickness returned, though nothing came of her queasiness. Gratefully, she stumbled onto the sandy beaches, squinting in the harsh noon light. The buzzing hive of activity around the set was overwhelming, and her head was spinning with the orders and affirmatives zipping through the air.

"Um, Roxan, Nessy, is there any hauling I could help you with?" she mumbled.

[Emperor Ing]

While special effects did interest her, Nessy had to admit she lacked the...flair that that department would require of her, and she was pretty well-read on acoustics, sound design, as well as possessing working knowledge on camera useage.

She got to work setting up the cameras and audio equipment, asking for Mossy to help with the especially heavy stuff.

Roxan gotten up early making streches and radiated from positive energy.
She gave hug and even a lick to each of her friends, too energized to hear their objections.

She joined her friends next to the cameras. Roxan pulled few bright colorful crystals, to give the cameras more options with light, shade and more things that can be done with cameras.

Both Mossy and Nessy worked with the camera staff. They were wary at first but after proving how capable the staff of the Whinylight was, they loosen up. Their is two ponies majorly working with them, Electric Tape and Micro Diamond. Electric Tape is a royal blue stallion pegasus with light blue mane while Micro Diamond is a white stallion unicorn with grey mane. One who is the sound technician while Micro Diamond is the cameral and visual guy.

As a general rules, the staff was wary you would mess up but since those two performed well, the crew became less wary and give them more responsabilities...

However... poor Roxan didnt do so well...

Roxan was overeager and both Electric Tape and Micro Diamond asked for her to help the special effect girl named Photo Shop. They had enough ponies working for them anyway with Mossy and Nessy.

Poor Roxan became fascinated with the smoke effect machine and clunked a crystal inside of it by accident. While the crystal became grey by result, it was ejected like a cannonball and barely miss a poor micro girl who was trying to adjust the sound effect of her mic. It hit the sand so hard that the crystal made a large hole in the sand. If it had hit the poor girl, she would have being severely injured.

Photo Shop was MAD! Only by having Honey trying to smooth things out that Roxan was allowed to leave, being ordered to check out Dawn who was reading her book on the beach.

Because of it, you could sense that the crew had became extremely wary of Roxan. No amount of talking was changing their minds. You understand they were a well oiled machine normally and any hinderance was difficult to adjust.

They decided to change the smoke part with a light show if they couldnt repair the smoke machines, which make a few ponies cringe but nods as they adjusted themself...

As you work with them, you realize they came out with a hygene product that contain a ingredients that creating a allergic reaction to changelings! This is huge! Those who ask Honey for some details are answered that its a compagny secret and all crew members here signed a magic contract to prevent the information to spill. Only the Whinylight members were spared from it as Rocket was given full responsability on your behalf. Your status helped too in the matter she add. Shes busy though and say she would be willing to answer more question after the shooting.

The atmosphere became a bit more wary and tensed as time goes on. They asked you to watch from the sideline at the end... The shooting on the commercial itself was a work of wonder... It was like watching a well coordinated play with a lot of effects, mouvements and all that was working like magic almost. It gave you a whole new appreciation on commercials. They last only a few seconds but so much work, sweat and wonder was put into it.

You are all on the beach and the camera turn around to change the scenary when needed. The camera angles are tricky and equipement hidden by magic as the shots are made. Rocket seemed MADE for the role. They fortunatly managed to reppear the smoke machines as the purple smoke coming from it covered the stage for a instant... In teh script, Rocket some out, holding a giant diamond.



But as the smoke covering the stage start to dissipate, you hear a scream... Then a other... soon, all cast members are fleeing the scene:

" A sea monster! Oh POPPY! "

" RUN FOR YOUR LIVES! "

" Im too young to die! "

The only one not running away in blind panic is Rocket, who without missing a beat, fly high and sharge straight on the water, creating a giant splash!

... and he rise up, apparently knocked up in the water! His face is STILL in the water!

You notice ponies are running in EVERY directions except the water. A lot run towards the woods, some on the beach... and you notice you cannot see the sea monster. The water is calm and their is no big wave. The water is even clear and you cant see NOTHING that look like a sea monster in that water.

Saving Rocket will requiere a non negative Quick roll check. You have two attempts to save him before you need to make a third roll who will be an reanimation attempt. If you fail that third roll... he will die.

Roxan wasn't that upset. If anything, she didn't understood what was the big deal. In Pragunicorn University explosions and randomly created monsters was part of the charm!
"Well, now I have discovered another way, how NOT to enhance smoke machine!" She said and written in one of her many notebooks.


She clapped her paws before it was aproriate, wagging her tail. But then things went wild!
"Rocket!" She barked, and has perked her ears. Without second (or even first) thought, she stood on four and ran to the water, jumping to get Rocket.

Evanescent was more than happy to help with the technical aspects of the commercial. Though for a time she felt rather unwanted, after some initial awkwardness, she felt right at home, and found her amateur knowledge of cinematography to be quite useful. Either way, she felt some intense glee at the idea of a hygeine product being able to detect changelings. She was willing to sign a non-disclosure agreement if so presented, but she didn't need to.

Though she did try to shrink, when Roxan tried to 'help' with the smoke machine. As long as she was safe, though, that's what mattered.

Then suddenly everypony panicked, and the 'earth pony' spun to see Rocket floating on the water. Get out of there! She exclaimed, calling on powers she usually tried to keep hidden, but in this emergency situation, it hardly mattered. She created a yellow magic aura around Rocket to try and telekinetically lift him out of the water. Nessy was counting on all eyes being on Rocket, and no-one noticing the aura coming from a non-existant horn on her forehead. She just needed to lift him enough to get him out of the water, but a whole pony is too heavy for the magic user unpracticed with her own powers.


Using Unpracticed Changeling flaw that applies a -1 penalty to using changeling powers, to get a point.

It was at least more enjoyable working on the set than she had anticipated. Her unfamiliarity with the craft of film proved to be a non-issue, and hefting the weighty cameras around was satisfying work. She was able to momentarily move past the mess left at Rocket's mansion, to breath deep the salty air, and relax in the warm light on her fur.

Then there were screams.

Mossy had joked previously about fighting off any monsters that interrupted filming.

Throwing up a cloud of sand behind her, she barreled down the beach and into the waves, bellowing an enthusiastic battle cry.

"For the Tree! Save Rocket!"

Roxan was the first to get to Rocket, managing to change his position so that his face is now facing the sky, preventing he swallow too much water. You now realize their is a small wound on his forehead, bleeding. With The help of Mossy and Nessy, he is back on the beach...

He is still unconscious but he is safe now... You finally realize that whatever creature everypony saw, it probably left after Rocket charge in the water. His hit to it was pretty heavy for him to be bleeding from it. Fortunatly, its not a big wound, merely a bleeding scratch.

As you look around, you see Honey Breeze who actually didnt run away but is curled up, crying up a storm and shaking like she is both sad in in fear. The rest of teh crew have disperse by now, it will be harder to find them... that include the paramedic who WAS in Honey Breeze crew. Fortunatly, their is a nursery in the Whinylight with some equipement there for Rocket, if thats your choice.

(Im leaving it open here on what to do next but if you need inspiration, I can give you some ideas)

Nessy sighed with relief on seeing that Rocket was returned safely to shore. If there actually was a sea monster, or somepony got spooked at Rocket chasing after it, hitting his head, she might not ever know. But she did see that Honey Breeze was distressed, only now noticing the acidic tang in her emotions. Against her better judgment, as the sensation of fear was repellent to her empathy-sense, she trotted up to the distressed pony and laid down next to her. Everything's okay. She said, smiling. Rocket had a bump, but he's going to be alright. He's over there, see?

(For such a awesome post, I'll let it slide but I suggest you make a list of 4-5 crystal she always has on her. Honey will give you something as thank in the end of the mission to help with medical care on the ship. You'll be able to charge your crystal from it. So its one power she will have constantly)

You manage to heal Rocket wound on his head and the little bit of water in his throat roll out of his mouth. Seems like he barely swallowed any water, thanks to your quick intervention. His breathing become more deep and regular. He look like he is simply sleeping now. You realize you healed his physical wounds but that only time will make him recover from his unconsciosness state.

Honey shake, rise her head, look toward the sea while whispering: " He... he is alive?! " She look shaken, finally seem to see Rocket despise her murky glasses and run toward him and hugs him: " You big dummy brother! Don't go head first in a monster mouth! You'll give me a heart atta... Oh... He... he is unconscious. "

She seem... shaken and lost. She seem to look at the sea with wary eyes... She try to pull Rocket further on the beach. You all realize she might still be in shock.

A relaxed sigh escaped Mossy once Roxan finished her work.

"Good job Roxan," she murmured. It occurred to her that Rocket was breathing fine after having been face down in the water. But then Honey Breeze's visible distress took her attention.

"Take deep, powerful breaths. Rocket is safe now, and we are here to deal with any monster that threatens you or your brother."

[Emperor Ing]

Nessy came up to Honey to give her a comforting hug. Don't worry, all will be well. She said, trying to smell the emotions of both her, and Rocket.

Roxan breathed with a relief. 'I need you pooonies, really refill my crystals.'
she looked at the sea.
"Well, shall we go fishing?" she has asked her friends sheepishly

Nessy's eyes shot wide open as she realized something was wrong, but it would be difficult to communicate just what it was. Regardless, it caused her to release Honey. She retched, looking quite ill, while also darting her eyes about, seemingly at random.

"Nessy!" Mossy exclaimed. "What's wrong? What do you need?"

[Emperor Ing]

I-I... Nessy tried to talk, occasionally leaning forward, standing uneasily. I-i'm fine. I think. Ugh... She said, slowly walking away from the beach, or more specifically, from Honey. When she was confident they were out of earshot, Nessy began to look a little frantic. Don't say anything, but something is not right with Honey. She gave off a very strong emotion i've never felt before, and it made me sick. But I could only smell it when I got close...

Roxan has tilted her head, narrowing her eyes.
Just for a moment.
"What... kind of feeling?" She has asked slowly.
Yes. Ponies and diamond dogs's emotions had smells. But she never seen anydog get sick from it!

Mossy frowned. She didn't like the implication that something was not right in Rocket's family, but she also wasn't entirely surprised when such a great deal of wealth and power was on the line.

"Well, I will keep an eye on her," she whispered, thinking now of anything suspicious. "And did anypony actually see the monster that attacked Rocket? And is it odd that the creature knew to attack when there was smoke to obscure it?"

Roxan tapped her chin. 'Well, it could be lurking... but why would a sea monster target a specific pooony? Unless this family has some secrets we don't know about..'

[Emperor Ing]

The water is clear, but nopony saw any sea monster...? Evanescent pointed out. Yes, something is really, really, really wrong. Let's keep an eye on Honey, and not let Rocket out of our sight. Something's really wrong, here. Ugh... Nessy retched, like she was gonna throw up, but fortunately nothing happened. If-if nothing else, I know that Rocket's dad is who he says he is.

Roxan was far from being a geniouse. But she worked her brain hard to get this position.
It was harder and harder to ignore the suspicions which rose up again and again.
"How do you know?" She has asked quitly.

[Emperor Ing]

I...had suspicions about him earlier. So I snuck out to find him, get a better scent of his emotions, and...they're real. For the sake of his privacy, I won't say any more. Evanescent answered Roxan.

Also, I could sense Rocket's emotions. Your crystal...did something to him. Not only made him feel at ease, but it created something of a....barrier. Around them.

"I guess, you simply has sharper nose then I do..." Roxan said slowly, not fully convinced. Her heart pushing away the conclusions her brain gotten to.

She took a bit more commanding tone. "You two keep Honey and Rocket with you. As far as I know, both might be the targets." She looked at Mossy, hoping to somehow, let her understand, that she can't leave Evanescent alone with Rocket, without saying a word.
But if probably just looked like she is being hostile to both.
"I am going for a swim." She declared, and turned to the sea.

Mossy frowned at Roxan's pronouncement, unsure why the Diamond Dog had taken such a commanding tone. Still, it was good advice.

"We won't let Honey out of our sight. Maybe take her with us to interrogate the film crew about what they saw. Perhaps something was caught on the cameras?" She glanced over to where Rocket was laying and Honey stood, just to be sure they were both still there, then turned to Nessy.

"Are you implying that Honey's emotions are... not genuine? Faked somehow? What would that even mean?"

[Emmerlaus]

Honey seem genuinelty confused about you guys isolating herself from her and Rocket.... It seem that whatever weird state she is start to fade. She looks around: " Shouldn't we find the others? " Its the same for Nessy, her anxiety is starting to go away.

As she say so, you can see them slowly, wary coming back to you guys. One of them is running though from a monkey who seem guinely pissed at him but give up once he seem himself outnumbered and goes back to the forest. In general, the crew seem very wary and annoyed.

In the same time, you guys receive a telepathic message: " Clever Plan to the Whinylight crew. Just as a headsup, we had a intrusion attempt via magic. Somepony try to teleport inside the ship but it's attempt got countered by the ship protection measure. Can somepony warn Rocket about this? The message somehow can't seem to be able to relay to him. Probably a bug. "

You know that telepatic message only goes one way. You can't answer her back.

As for Roxan, the water is refreshing with a nice salt sensation when it get in your mouth. The water monster doest seem to react to her presence at all.

Mossy winced at the telepathic message. It was another lead to follow and another layer to this growing mess. Well, she had to start the plow at one end of the field.

"Everypony, I believe the immediate danger has passed." Mossy announced, addressing Honey and the film crew in general. "My crew and I are more than experienced with monster hunting, should any be lurking around. Let's just stay together and be wary of the water. We probably also should put this filming project on hold until we can be sure of everypony's safety. Did anypony see anything of the incident?"

Oooh, that's not good. Evanescent muttered as she received the telepathic message. Something was definitely up, but for the time being there was little they could do about it.

Now just a quick question, who saw the sea monster?

Roxan doesn't give up a hunt that quickly. She swim to the surface to regain her breath, and looking in her arsenal for a crystal with a spectacular and loud, yet harmless spell.
Something like thunder will do.
But does shs still got it?
