# Thread: The Lotus Blossoms! [OOC]

1. ## Re: The Lotus Blossoms! [OOC]

I'll tap Defining Faith and 4m on the Integrity Excellency here. Wind's guilt over Kidale works in Wic's favor, though, so that works out to Resolve... 8. Now let me check the result...

8. ## Re: The Lotus Blossoms! [OOC]

Let's see... Declaring Hanada's defenses against Wic's persuasion: Base Resolve 5 - 1 (supporting Minor Intimacy) + 3 (opposing Major Intimacy) + 3 (Excellency) = Resolve 10.

9. ## Re: The Lotus Blossoms! [OOC]

Whoops, forgot the roll opposing Slang's roll:

Senses + Excellency (5m) + All-Encompassing Earth Sense (3m, doubles 9s):
(13d10)[10][4][6][3][2][10][6][10][8][3][7][1][6](76)

10. ## Re: The Lotus Blossoms! [OOC]

Remah is going to pop Foul Stench of Lies Discernment (3m, 1wp) and Indisputable Physical Analysis Technique (the Investigation Excellency, spending 2m) on Wic's implication that he's Sidereal.
Spoiler: Roll
(16d10)[3][1][7][5][3][7][6][9][8][10][2][3][3][3][3][7](80)+1 success
Reroll 6s until 6s cease to appear: (6d10)[9][10][4][5][7][3](38)

Defensively, he's spending 4m to boost Resolve against Wic's persuasion, and his deep mistrust of non-Immaculates causes his Resolve to balance out at +1 from Intimacies despite Wic leveraging his drive to pursue the Anathema.

11. ## Re: The Lotus Blossoms! [OOC]

Remah will use Inviolate Dragon Spirit (1m, 1wp) so that he can invoke the same Intimacy that boosted his Resolve in the Decision Point as his justification to spend WP against Wic's Persuasion. That does mean that he's already burned 3 WP before even touching Wic's Majestic Radiant Presence, though, so Wic's not doing so badly here.

12. ## Re: The Lotus Blossoms! [OOC]

Remah is dropping another 4m on the Integrity Excellency to boost Resolve. He's actively trying to not get too drawn in by 'Forivas' until his suspicions are cleared up.

13. ## Re: The Lotus Blossoms! [OOC]

It'd be metagaming of the highest order for Remah to not use Foul Stench of Lies Discernment (3m) on Wic's description of the fight, even though I know it's truthful OOC, so here goes. Fortunately, since he's caught 'Forivas' in one misleading statement, he doesn't have to spend any more WP on it this scene.

(16d10)[2][5][5][3][9][8][8][7][6][2][7][9][1][2][5][8](87)

I'm going to let Wic's persuasion go through without active opposition this time. We'll just see how that roll turns out. Well, and also, I have an idea, but you'll see that shortly.

15. ## Re: The Lotus Blossoms! [OOC]

Forgot Kelam gets a reroll per 10 on JB: (1d10)[1](1)

I'll edit the Initiative count into this post.

Initiative:
13: Tuoni (Stealth result: 3 [stunt upgraded to 2-point])
12: Kelam (Stealth result: 2)
10: Leaf (Stealth result: 3), Camellia (Stealth result: 7)
9: Briar (Stealth result: 7), Laughing Brook (Awareness result: 4)
8: Slang (Stealthed vs. every enemy at lower Initiative), Vaktri (Stealth result: 8), The Mourning Blade, Wood Immaculate (Awareness result: 8)
7: Earth Immaculate (Awareness result: 5), Air Immac. 2 (Awareness result: 4), Brides (Botched awareness)
6: Wic (Stealth result: 4), Monk Battle Group (Awareness result: 0)
5: Bride Commander (Awareness result: 3)
4: Air Immac. 1 (Awareness result: 2)

EDIT: Results now adjusted to reflect the enemy's fatigue penalties. Laughing Brook, the Wood Immaculate, and the Earth Immaculate have used Charms to avoid or ignore their fatigue penalties.

16. ## Re: The Lotus Blossoms! [OOC]

A couple housekeeping bits before I proceed...

The brides may have begun routing after Tuoni's first attack, if this roll generates no successes: (6d10)[1][2][7][3][5][8](26)

Also, I forgot to reflexively activate Kelam's Single Point Shining into the Void Form when she beat all enemies' Initiative rolls (incidentally, if anybody checks the phrasing and notices that the wording on its reflexive activation clause is different from other "winning Initiative" Charms, Vance has confirmed that as a mistake on his part), but I'd like to do that retroactively. The Mourning Blade's separate Initiative: (9d10)[10][3][4][9][9][3][7][3][2](50)+3

17. ## Re: The Lotus Blossoms! [OOC]

Okay, I'm going to roll one more pair of rolls before describing all this:

Kelam is making a withering attack with Rising Wail Stroke (Evocation) and Liquid Steel Flow (paying the 1 wp to extend the latter's duration). 7m, 2wp total expenditure.
Attack: (14d10)[5][7][8][8][8][1][7][9][3][5][4][9][9][1](84)
Damage (base 19, minimum 5 dice, double 7s): (26d10)[5][4][6][10][10][6][3][3][2][4][5][6][3][7][3][10][2][7][6][9][5][3][10][2][2][2](135)

18. ## Re: The Lotus Blossoms! [OOC]

Okay, Air Immaculate 1 will ignore the surprise attack penalty to his Evasion with Air Dragon's Sight (though he still counts as surprised for the purposes of Leap From Cloaking Shadows' dice-doubling) and will boost his Evasion by two with the Dodge Excellency. Total expenditure, 5m, 1i.

Now to check results...

19. ## Re: The Lotus Blossoms! [OOC]

Ascension has reminded me that Leaf has two more dice to add to the damage roll. Here goes:

(2d10)[9][3](12)

20. ## Re: The Lotus Blossoms! [OOC]

Laughing Brook is going all-in on boosting Parry against Camellia. 6m for +3, largely offset by Surprise's -2. If the attack still hits, I'll be using another Charm on the Control roll.

21. ## Re: The Lotus Blossoms! [OOC]

Initiative (Prior to Briar and Laughing Brook's actions):
9: Briar, Laughing Brook
8: Slang, Vaktri , The Mourning Blade, Wood Immaculate
7: Earth Immaculate , Air Immac. 2
6: Wic, Monk Battle Group
5: Bride Commander, Camellia [already acted]

22. ## Re: The Lotus Blossoms! [OOC]

Initiative after Laughing Brook and Briar's actions:

7: Earth Immaculate , Air Immac. 2
6: Wic, Monk Battle Group
5: Bride Commander

23. ## Re: The Lotus Blossoms! [OOC]

Brook is adding +2 to Parry for 4m, and may use Blade-Deflecting Palm if the Vaktri's attack hits by a slim margin.

24. ## Re: The Lotus Blossoms! [OOC]

(11d10)[2][9][10][2][8][8][7][7][6][1][9](69) here is the roll I missed.

25. ## Re: The Lotus Blossoms! [OOC]

The Wood Immaculate is using Wood Dragon Vitality (5m) to boost her Soak.

26. ## Re: The Lotus Blossoms! [OOC]

6: Wic, Monk Battle Group, The Mourning Blade [delaying] <- up now!
5: Bride Commander

27. ## Re: The Lotus Blossoms! [OOC]

30. ## Re: The Lotus Blossoms! [OOC]

Limitless Limit!
