Re: Darths & Droids IV: Not in Numerical Order
More a reference to how much we currently know about upcoming movies thanks to the internet than anything else. And yes, I realize it's possible to avoid it, so I'm just as much at fault.
But on the other hand, I'm old enough that this was the first Star Wars trailer I saw in a theater. Revealing plot details and surprises weren't much of a feature back then.

Re: Darths & Droids IV: Not in Numerical Order
Yes, originally in the Hoth section of Empire, some Wampas tunnel into the Rebel base. They are contained in one section of the base with that poster warning not to open the door. As Mando says, then the payoff was that 3PO tears down the poster during the pursuit later and a snowtrooper gets mauled. Not a great idea, didn't have anything to do with anything and would have disrupted the flow of the 1st act to lead up to a weak payoff. They shot a few scenes but apparently dropped the idea pretty quick, likely because the Wampa suits weren't that convincing.
Some of the footage they shot was on the Star Wars blu-ray extras and I think on Disney+ as well. Youtube has uploaded it also if you're curious.
Edit: Good Grief, after watching that again, it's like Hoth was invaded by a Doctor Who episodeLast edited by Dire_Flumph; 2021-01-20 at 10:28 PM.

Re: Darths & Droids IV: Not in Numerical Order
To Keybounce's commentary, we already knew that her name was "Rey Solo," so the fact that her father is Xasha shouldn't be that much of a surprise.

Re: Darths & Droids IV: Not in Numerical Order
To be fair, she could've been related to the original Han Solo. Dude was a shapeshifter after all.
Spoiler: Episode VII & IXI wonder if we'll see him hit Z before Kylo kills him.
Or maybe when he does that ghost thing in Rise of Skywalker."If it lives it can be killed.
If it is dead it can be eaten."

Re: Darths & Droids IV: Not in Numerical Order
She(/Pete) also used the Uncle Luke when BB-8 is talking about
Potter_1337Starkiller, so we've had decent reasons to believe she's related to Leia at least. And I don't believe that Leia ever met Han Solo.
Spoiler: More SpoilersOr maybe when he's a ghost he'll use his original identity, which probably begins with a Y or Z. Remember, he's stealing identities after stealing the identity of Alberto the serial identity thief.

Re: Darths & Droids IV: Not in Numerical Order
New comic
Okay, that's not quite as bad as getting killed at char gen, but it's close. Still, zero sessions got to be a new record.
Does it count as PvP when no one knew your PC was there?"If it lives it can be killed.
If it is dead it can be eaten."

Re: Darths & Droids IV: Not in Numerical Order
I rarely do a hard disagree with the DM in this comic, but in this case i think it would be fair for Jim to cry foul if his character got killed before he even got to play in a session. Its one thing to die of your own poor decisions or builds, but "he got killed in an airstrike off screen" is totally inappropriate IMO.

I read it as "they played out a solo session 0 and he died before getting to meet the main party".

Re: Darths & Droids IV: Not in Numerical Order
Actually, this is all from the GM's notes of all the stuff they skipped that he mapped out for them to do in Niima. Jim was supposed to take over an NPC they bypassed, so presumably he just let Jim play Han instead.

Re: Darths & Droids IV: Not in Numerical Order
It isn't really. Han played Kyle Katarn, Bria Tharen, and Bail Organa, who all died before appearing in even one strip.
Lovas at least appeared once on panel, very blurred out.Update 2021-01-25 05Z: Oops, I realized #1930 shows Zuvio, not Lovas, then found that Dire_Flumph already pointed that out. Lovas hasn't appeared anywhere on panel before his death either.Last edited by b_jonas; 2021-01-25 at 12:03 AM.

Re: Darths & Droids IV: Not in Numerical Order
You mean this Kyle Katarn, this Bria Tharen, and this Bail Organa?

No, This Bail Organa. He did appear on screen before his death, unlike the other two.

Re: Darths & Droids IV: Not in Numerical Order
I suppose this is my ignorance showing, but isn't Jim's character originally Greedo? Am I forgetting some wholesale identity theft? I skimmed and noticed that Greedo shot Han (first) in 759, then started taking Ford's lines shortly afterwards, but didn't look much farther than that.
Oh, ugh... then there's him being some traitor and somesuch...
Could someone sum up this guy's character arcs?

Re: Darths & Droids IV: Not in Numerical Order
Strip != Sessions.
Kyle, Bria and Bail appeared in off-the-screen actual sessions with the GM and the group. He played them. He just got them killed fast (eventually we see a flashback to that campaign with Rogue One).
This new character didn't get that. He was created and when he was suppoed to show up it was "sorry, you're dead"

Re: Darths & Droids IV: Not in Numerical Order
Ah, Traveler. Never had a character killed at chargen (Paranoia, however...), but that game was good for randos. Usually "how do these go together?" but occasionally with complete OP BS like O'Kelvin.

Re: Darths & Droids IV: Not in Numerical Order
There was a lot more identity theft in his backstory. "It goes all the way back to Alberto!" "Who was a serial identity thief."
"'But there's still such a lot to be done...'
YES. THERE ALWAYS IS."

Re: Darths & Droids IV: Not in Numerical Order
It does make me wonder who pre-Alberto was. A clone of some kind with just a serial number for a name, caught in an endless search for an identity but making the basic mistake of using other people's instead of growing his own?
Well, that's probably what Annie or Ben would come up with.

Re: Darths & Droids IV: Not in Numerical Order
Just realized something:
Spoiler: Spoilers for the entire trilogyDo we know if Kylo Ren is actually Ben Solo in this? Because that would make Rey and him siblings (which would make a nice reveal when he removes his helmet after she's captured). But it would also make that weird romance scene at the end, like super creepy.
But if he's not Ben, then the whole scene on the Bridge of Starkiller Base is gonna be weird. And Han's Force Ghost or whatever appearing later on makes even less sense.
