Hello!

This feels kinda awkward? I dunno why. Anyway, I'm not exactly a veteran D&D player (I only ever had 3 characters: an elf mage, an elf fighter and a tiefling warlock, all of them being pretty basic) so I hope I can learn a few things here!

I'm DMing my first session around february 2023 so I need all the help I can help as a baby DM, because I have all those grandiose ideas but not really the skills to put them into play effectively so that my players will all have a good time.
That's pretty much it I guess, have a nice day!

P.S: February's campaign could be epic but I really need to learn how to pace the story until then, if anyone have any tips I'll gladly take it

Probably because this particular thread sees little interaction between posters. It's like a bunch of people screaming into an empty room. But don't you worry about that.

If you're looking for generic DMing advice, you might want to post in Roleplaying Games instead; if you're after specific stuff, I'd recommend the 5e sub-forum ((lesser) tiefling warlocks are more than doable in 3.5, but based on your calling it something very basic, I'm led to presume you're a 5e person).

Actually I play a mix of AD&D 2, 3.5 and fifth edition (it's kinda messy but we just take the rules that are the most fun to play out of the three, regardless of whether it makes sense or not, D&D is a game where you can have Bobby the human fight alongside the most charismatic bard elf, things don't always need to make sense). I meant basic as in "nothing too extravagant", at least mechanically speaking. My tiefling is extra in a whole other way (him, to the party's sorcerer: You're a sorcerer. The day you lose your draconic bloodline or whatever, you lose your powers. I'm a warlock. The day I lose my pretty boy face and my cute little ass, I lose mine. TO EACH THEIR OWN!!) haha

Hi everyone!

I'm a long time OotS fan (since around the start of book 5!), it was my introduction to roleplaying games and it's since become my favourite hobby. Thought I'd finally sign up and join the forum. :)

I mainly play Pathfinder 2e with my regular group, making it all the way to level 20 in a campaign that began in early 2020, we had one in person session before lockdown drove us online for quite a while! We've since started a new long term campaign where I'm playing perhaps my favourite character so far, a rowdy magus street kid who brings her fists to a spell fight. >:D
I also like exploring indie RPGS and the OSR scene. I've had a blast running CY_BORG and want to try out Mothership soon!

It's been a while since I caught up on OotS so I guess I'll be reading it from the beginning again now...
