Re: 5e Sunless Citadel IC
“I’ve a spell that tells yeh the type o’ magic, but again... it’s probably a bit of a waste o’ Helm’s power, seein’ as we already know the magic exists...” Fargrim rumbles. “Was there any other way t’ go?”

Re: 5e Sunless Citadel IC
"What if hitting it makes the spell turn you into a chicken?" Harbek teases. "I ain't no wizard, I just know that there's more to this lock than just the casing and tumblers. Otherwise I'm sure Master Nail'lo would've gotten it open before."
"There was that other door from where we came in.. Three total, and we've only seen what's behind two of 'em."

Re: 5e Sunless Citadel IC
Galinndan nods, "We'll see what's behind that door yet, but I have to agree with Harbek, we're all rested up, let's make our way to door number three. I can scout ahead just slightly."
Ducking back into the circular room where the dead goblins laid strewn about, Galinndan crouches low near the last door. Stealthily pushing it open, he pokes his head in and looks around from the door.

Re: 5e Sunless Citadel IC
As he gets up, clanging noisily, he calls in a sort-of-whispering manner “Aye, lad. Let’s get on then”. He ducks as quietly as he can around Galinndan, and peers in.

Re: 5e Sunless Citadel IC
The room you look into is a hallway, 20ft wide and 80ft long, with rotting wooden doors on the far end, and one on each side (3 doors in total, left, right, and center.)

Re: 5e Sunless Citadel IC
The clanking of Fargrim's armor causes Galinndan to sigh heavily as he stands up. "You're lucky I find that armor so dashing or I'd have some criticism. I'll check the left, if you or another want to check the right? Stay a bit back though... just in case."
Galinndan returns to his crouched position as he works his way up towards the door on the left. He places each step purposefully close to the wall to avoid traps, keeping an eye out for oddities in the stone.

Re: 5e Sunless Citadel IC
Galinndan does not see evidence of traps, not does he hear anything at the door. However, when he moved up to the door, he also did not set off any traps.

Re: 5e Sunless Citadel IC
Harbek looks around the hallway as Galinndan heads towards the trio of doors. Given the skeletons they had found before, he leans one hand against the cold stone and tries to judge how old the mason-work here must be.

Re: 5e Sunless Citadel IC
Not suspecting any traps, Galinndan pushes the door to the left into the room. Sticking his head in he looks about for any points of interest.

Re: 5e Sunless Citadel IC
In the center of the 20x20 room is a Large sealed iron cask. A spigot is on the side facing the door.

Re: 5e Sunless Citadel IC
Harbek rouses himself from his thoughts, mumbling something about it being too dark before he trudges towards the half-elf. "Find anything?" he asks while peering into the room as well. Upon spying the cask he gives an impressed whistle and comments, "Someone really loved their drink for a cask of that size."

Re: 5e Sunless Citadel IC
Beorn sloshes it again so his companions can hear. With a shrug, he scrounges something to use as a container (a bowl or even a skull), and attempts to draw some of the liquid from the tap.

Re: 5e Sunless Citadel IC
There's an old glass pitcher resting under the cask. If Beorn pours some of the contents into it, cold clear water will pour out, accompanied by the sound of pressure being released, like someone far away screaming.

Re: 5e Sunless Citadel IC
Still watching from the door way as the subtle scream poured out of the tap, "Well that isn't unsettling in the least. A haunted keg, or at least one which produces distance yelps." Not too interested in learning more about the room to the left, Galinndan scoots across the way to the door on the right. He stops to take a look at the door a bit closer, and moves to peer into the room beyond.

Re: 5e Sunless Citadel IC
The room on the right is empty, a 30x30 space with only some ratty old tapestries lining the walls, too rotten for their patterns to be recognizable.

Re: 5e Sunless Citadel IC
Nothing smells off, and when Beorn drinks, he'll find that it is water, lukewarm, but pure.

Beorn shrugs and downs the remaining water. "At least we can refill canteens here in a pinch." He follows the others to continue exploring.

Re: 5e Sunless Citadel IC
Harbek raises an eyebrow in suprise when nothing happens to Beorn, though he's obviously grateful nothing has. He comments, "Aye, though it's suprising enough that the water is still good. Who knows how long it's been sitting in that tank, and with no rust t'boot." He follows the heavily built man back to the hallway, and takes it upon himself to inspect the final door while Galinndan and Fargrim are looking through the other room. If they needed help, surely they'd have made it clear by now. He peeks through the doorway as he cracks it open, holding his lantern just far back enough to hide its light just a little.

Re: 5e Sunless Citadel IC
Crudely executed symbols and glyphs, scribed in bright green dye, decorate the large and irregularly shaped crumbling chamber beyond the door. A large pit in the center shows evidence of a recent fire. A metallic cage in the middle of the southern wall contains a gaping hole and stands empty. A small wooden bench draped with green cloth is next to the cage, and several small objects rest on it. A bedroll lies near the bench, and the sound of whimpering comes from inside it.
There are three doors and an archway visible from your position. Two doors are in the southwest corner, the archway is in the middle of the western wall and leads to a hallway, and the third door is in the northwest corner.Awesome avatar (Kothar, paladin of Tlacua) by Linkele!

Re: 5e Sunless Citadel IC
A brief foray of the tapestry room provides little good, and as Galinndan hears Harbek go forward, he moves to join his companions. The glyphs and symbol quickly draw Galinndan's attention. He ducks into the room to inspect them, but as he does he hears the whimpering and instinctually pulls his daggers out and crouches down.

Re: 5e Sunless Citadel IC
"Bedroll. Clean water. Others have been here. Still here." He crosses to the sound of the whimpering and attempts to draw back the edge of the bedroll with the haft of his axe to uncover its source.
