So ... Bardic Knowledge could have solved this, but Quinn let me know he's been steamrolled by RL trouble. So he's out for the foreseeable future, sadly. That said, you can't be held accountable for his unexpected disappearance. So, before the weird organic dungeon get's the better of him, and he runs for the hills:

On the topic of flanking - and the topic of very large opponents also:

The elemental is huge. That means it has 15' reach - which further means that moving around inside it's reach is a bad idea. It has only a single attack of opportunity each round, but you don't really want to give it any extra attacks. It hits rather hard.

So to flank, technically you want to do one of two things: Tumble, or take 5' steps. It takes longer - but it's safer. Also, there are the guardian beasts, those are easier to get flanking with than Jack or Jon (specifically, Jack isn't attacking, and thus cannot provide flanking).

But if you want the +2 this round (and you might, because 16 hits, but 14 is a miss), then you need to absorb the AoO.

I assume tumbling wouldn't give Bobin enough movement to flank this round, right? In that case, I'll risk taking the AoO.

If you have tumble, you can reach a flanking position, yes. I checked your sheet, and didn't seem to see it?

I have the skills on Bobin's page sorted by rank, as opposed to alphabet, so that may be why you didn't catch it. He definitely has tumble, an +14 modifier to be precise. The reason I was asking was because in order to tumble, Bobin has to move at half-speed, and I wasn't sure that 10 feet of movement would be enough to get into position to flank. Depending on how you rule it, I will roll tumble just in case.

    Tumble - (1d20+14)[23] (vs. DC of 15, I think)

Edit: Just realized, with a +14 Bobin will automatically succeed the check to avoid AoO while moving at half-speed. Opps .

Ah - I see. So the attack hits, no AoO's, and if I recall correctly, Jon is offline for a few days? I might post in his stead, but not yet =)

The equipment list at the start of this thread is up to date.

Wait, maybe not: Didn't Jack use a potion of Invisibility or Spider Climb at some point in Madripore? Don't have the time to go check back in the thread.

    Also, I'm back.

Jon turns over the potion bottle, and looks at the Best Before date on the bottom. It says 437, Age of Xheliath. Precisely what calender that refers to is unclear.

As long as it hasn't degraded into a potion of Baleful polymorph...

No silver sequins. You know how these things look, right? It covers the first two fingers I think, and protects the inside of the wrist. It's very fine, supple leather.
Oh, right, of course. For some reason I was just thinking of an ordinary glove that happened to be enchanted with archer magic, as opposed to a magic archer-glove.

And I just wanted to clarify: The +1/+1 is always on, correct? It's the d6 that's only usable 2 times per day?

If you hadn't taken the mirror with you, next time you visited Ma Gertrude, you'd have found her crying into her apron, in her rocking chair outside her little cottage. You'd have rushed to her, concern on your faces.

Ma Gertrude, you'd say, are you ok??

    And she'd reply: I ... I'm not.

I'm not Ma Gertrude, I mean. I'm Camilla, you know me - I work at the tavern on wednesdays. I ... I just don't know what happened. She showed me a mirror, and then she cackled. Cackled! And when I looked up, she .. she was me! And now I'm ...

She hides her face in her apron again. Stunned, you do the math: Camilla, the gorgeous young tavern wench - and Ma Gertrude, getting well on in years.

At which point she leaps out of her rocking chair.

Got'cha! She exclaims, and she laughs and laughs, a-hahaha, fooled you, didn't I? You really thought I'd used the mirror.

See, I keep telling you: You should never trust your GM.

I'm solidly agnostic, but if I'm wrong in that regard, this is the sort of thing St. Peter will bring up, saying 'we need to have a chat, Michael.'

Uh ... not that I know of?! I may have forgotten something, but to my mind you're not granted any official title or powers. But who knows, maybe Finnegal could be persuaded to institute the Silverbrook Inquisition! =)

Jon is surprisingly cool about the undead dumbwaiter. But perhaps that's because it's called a coat stand?

I'm pretty sure I heard someone call it a dumbwaiter. Once. Maybe.

Oh. In english that word is a kitchen elevator. Who knew?

It's a coatstand then. Like, a skeletal bit of furniture with animated human arms to take your overclothes for you.
