It's up to you to decide how much Aliani remembers, but I'd like to think given how traumatic meeting him was, that Aliani remembers Devargo is a scary dude at the very least.

Edit: Frankly, it wouldn't surprise me if 4 3rd level guys could take a 7th level Magus and a handful of low-level flunkies, especially if Dalen had his full suite of spells and could glitterdust/charm half or more of them.
As an alternative to running all the way across town on your own, you could always leave and come back in like half an hour.
The Hellknights are unlikely to stick around fruitlessly searching forever, not in such a target rich environment.

I don't know if I need to make a Diplomacy check for not getting my face bashed in; if I do, I'll take 10 if possible (for a 18); if that's not possible under the circumstances I'll take a (1d20+8)[13] instead.

Very high risk; likely not worth it unless we have the perfect opportunity. It's true that a low level Wizard can incapacitate very threatening enemies, but every round until he fails his save against one of my spells is a round that he's very likely to either grievously injure or straight up kill a party member.

Besides, my nascent (hastily underdevloped) plan involves them being alive to chase down Lamm for us, while of course it's pointed out to Devargo that the hellknights are running amok and are going to wreck his face, and to the guard that Devargo is getting too big for his britches and picking on hellknights, etc...

this doesn't work if one of them dies too soon!

Well, it's that or just kill everyone. But I don't really see how that helps. :p

    Riiiight.
Because getting everyone to kill everyone else is so much more likely to end well!
It's certainly a lot more fun than doing it all yourself though.

Dalen will spend the next 15 minutes preparing his unused 1st level slot as a Mount spell with the intent of scribing a scroll tonight to replace the one he expended.

    UPDATES POSTED!

Yes, Dalen can scribe a scroll if you'd like him to spend the hour doing that.
At this point, nobody is going to come kick in his door and try to murder him, for at least . . . two hours at the current rate.

And yes, Miz is now fine, but only thanks to that Nat 20.
She was going to be having nightmarish hallucinations all night, but thanks to that her bad acid trip was just that brief period of time down on the docks.

Further quests for Yargin will wait until morning. We aren't making the journey to Volyshenek tonight anyways, and if we're waiting until morning Dalen will wait for the return of his familiar before departing. He can then question Yargin with respect to any new information Rhetoric can report.

And yes, 8 hours of rest goes without saying.

I was just checking on something a few pages back in the IC thread when I noticed something I had completely forgotten about: Vencarlo handed a coin purse to Dalen with the intention of passing it along to Silas. Given the amount of real time that passed due to the PBP format I had completely forgotten about it, but I somehow expect that Dalen wouldn't forget it in only the course of a few hours.

Not sure if it makes sense to retcon it given how long this error has gone unnoticed, but I want to make clear that Dalen's intent was to return it at the first opportunity.

The craziness happened after our meeting with Zellaria, however, so Dalen should have remembered at that time.

It is safe to just hand-wave and say that Silas has his 750 GP.
By my count, the overall party wealth, once those jewelry items from Lamm's stash are sold/returned/whatever, everyone's wealth-by-level should be at 4,150 GP (3rd level starting wealth of 3,000 GP, plus the 750 GP you each got from various prologue stuff, added by 400 GP split from the items + money pouch Aliani got from Sir Xerxes).

Just a quick question: do you rule that Run action is restricted to ground move speed, or can be used with fly move speeds as well? That directly affects how much time Dalen has before Rhetoric's arrival (since a run action would have him arrive twice as quickly than double move actions).

Right. I'm inclined to say that the Run action can be taken with other movement types other than simply ground walking.
As otherwise, a normal human could use the Run action to outpace most flying creatures, which doesn't make a lot of sense to me.
If this breaks the system in some bizarre corner case, we'll figure it out when it comes up.

I'm not aware of anywhere it breaks. It does add yet another cool things to the list of stuff dragons can do, since their fly move speed is already insanely good, but that doesn't exactly do much for us PC's.

Charisma check, sharisma check. I've got Perform: Oratory just for spots like this.

If you don't want to let me use that, then make it +3 instead of +14. (edit: which would be a mere 17...)

Okay, Dalen has plan to kill the imp!

Ingredients: one greedy opportunistic imp, one diplomacy and bluff check, one nearby hellknight, and a timely application of the glitterdust spell to make an imp's invisibility fail at the worst possible moment

So, is there a hellknight anywhere nearby at this moment in time? Or do I need to come up with a different plan.
