The Rag End Orphans all hail from Our Lady Susan's School for Wayward Children, a dumping ground for the unwanted that manages to provide a minimum service to the children under their care. Not cruel so much as uncaring and underfunded. The dorms are cramped but dry and every child gets a bed to sleep in and a meal in the morning. Other than the morning meal and prayer, the children are mostly left to fend for and entertain themselves. The School is situated in the middle of Rag End, an area within the Dames which is a district within the city Wor' Ag'l. You all 'attend' the school and have become friends in your time stuck together there.

Rag End, Beatrix Bluff and South Sno' Ot are three of the nicer areas in the Dames. People are poor but still have respect for each other. Past the trickle, a gutter in the ground that cuts the Dames in half, is the Warrens, Treacle Mine and Clutch. The Warrens is a slum town, rumoured to be ruled by a ratman. Often those serving indentured servitude end up here. Treacle Mine is taken up mostly by a prison run by a Dwarf conglomerate the Wardens. The only buildings not part of the prison itself are there to service the Wardens needs. The Clutch is the worst by far. A tiny area on the map, it has been magically altered to hold everyone that is in it, no matter the amount. It is a never ending maze of alleys and dead ends. The people within are lawless and ruthless. If you are of no use to them, then you are just making the clutch harder to traverse by being there. A glut of refugees greatly expanded the Clutch a decade ago. The number of citizens there has been culled since but the Clutch never shrinks, it only grows. People only enter the Clutch willingly if they do not want to be found and few are ever seen again.

Beyond the Dames is the Merchant District, the Proper and the Docks. Further Beyond that is where the Lords and Ladies live, in North Sno' Ot and Castle Wor' Ag'l. Outside the city is farm land and then the wilds.

The Matron: An older woman who looks after the ill and injured at Our Lady Susan's School for Wayward Children. The children only go to her for a serious injury, small cuts and scrapes are scolded away, but broken bones are taken care of with both tenderness and haste. The rest of the staff change every month or two, going to different callings. The Matron is the only constant in the school.

Lady Susan: Has never been seen at the orphanage, or in the Dames at all. Most likely she lives in North Sno' Ot, but none of the staff that come through have ever met her. The Matron refuses to be bothered by such questions from the children.

The Rag Enders: A gang of older children, they have ongoing turf wars with the Beatles and the Snoots, the two neighbouring gangs in the Dames. It is encouraged as long as it doesn't interfere with the Dukes business.

"The Duke of Dames" Errol Warrington: Only ever referred to as the Duke by the people of the Dames. He runs things down here and the Guard are payed enough to not stop him. He doesn't allow people to cross him twice.

Captain Christopher: Captian of the Guard: Dames Division. His station is located in South Sno' Ot, at the crossing from the Dames into the Merchants district. He makes sure the rabble stays on the correct side. The Duke and the Captain have come to a mutual understanding.

Also 11. Totally not a subconscious choice referencing another young girl with great power that they were born with.

11 as well, seemed like a nice middle ground in the presented age range.

it took me waay to long to realize that was a reference to stranger things... might have caught it sooner if i actually watch the show... also there's probably a joke here about Jessiebelle and Nisha getting annoyed about people referring to them as twins for no other reason than there both tieflings... idk random thought.

Anywho, i tried holding off posting for a while to maybe let bc56 post something.

Also, maybe because fighting rats is such an iconic way to start an adventure, but i'm feeling like voting for The drains path.

You likely have some suspicions that A) you never see the two of them in the same place and B) When anyone does call her Jessibelle her usual response is "Who?"
