    Suddenly, an enormous tiger appears, coated in the eerie light of the celestial realms, and it jumps at the golem, all claws and teeth bared! Its attacks manage to rip some amount of sand off the mineral creature's body. The golem stops moving for a second, as if ready to turn on its attacker. But the same voice the companions heard before calls out in its language:

    “Crush her until she is pulp!”

    ... And the golem resumes its merciless embrace of Lehasti, whose struggles to evade its grasp remain futile. Fortunately for her, Sarenrae and the ancient gods of Osirion are with her, and their blessed healing keeps her alive for another moment.

    Inside, Vlarga, ignoring the pain from the acid that burns her fur away, savagely unleashes at Khabekh-Shu, scoring one deep gash on the sorcerer's shoulder. Behind the mask, does she detect a flash of fear in her opponent's eyes? Worse still for him, Turi and his kukris appear on the opposite side, and his slash destroys the remaining illusion! The Forgotten Pharaoh troth and caster decides to retreat, earning a vicious blow to the small of his back from Turi, and flies upwards through the opening. He then casts another spell, causing a rain of light motes to fall over both his attackers, covering them in light but with no harmful effect.

    Arriving on the arch just outside the upper level of the hollowed cliff, Vershab sees him just as he lands next to the opening. He also notes a wounded cultist stumbling as he tries to retreat away from the window, and another one firing his crossbow at the assailants below.

    Outside, the rain of crossbow bolts abates as the cultists seem to be preoccupied with something that's hard to see in the distance - Natala nods in satisfaction.

    The tiger hits three times, doing serious damage since its attacks (bludgeoning) bypass the golem's DR.
    Natala's ally and falchion both strike at the cultists with good success, but neither falls yet.

    Kabekh-Shu flies up, AoOs are triggered:

    C6 is no longer blind. He stands up, sees what's happening to his colleague, and casts a spell too.

    C10 fires his crossbow at Vlarga (1d20+10)[20] damage (1d10+1)[5]; cc(29+) (1d20+10)[24] cd (1d10+1)[11] - miss

    The golem tries to maintain the grapple: (1d20+24)[33] damage (2d6+7)[14] plus constrict (2d6+10)[17] - ouch

    Natala growled as the enemy caster fled, slipping away from her companions. However, she was certain they would give chase soon enough. For right now, she continued to let the spiritual weapon harry the cultist and decided to try some subterfuge. She spoke, loud enough for the golem and Lehasti, "Use your magic to escape, mighty trickster!". Casting a spell form the shadow of the enlarged paladin, an image of Lehasti suddenly slipped away from the one fighting the golem, moving to the outside, with a mocking laugh. The figure beckoned the golem, forcing the creature to move it it wanted to attack.

    Round 7 - The ally is gone. Natala casts minor image and tries to trick the golem with the idea that Lehasti has duplicated herself or moved away and left a decoy. Minor image give a little sound (hence the laughter)

    When a second Lehasti suddenly springs into existence, the golem briefly hesitates, and drops his real prey to lunge after the fake one. Immediately, the voice from above is heard again:

    “Not that one, cretin! The other one! You had her a second ago!”


    The golem then ponderously turns towards the actual servant of the Dawnflower again, ignoring the enormous tiger who continues making sand fly everywhere.

    The ever-loyal Azkin bolsters his mentor, as always. On top of the platform, the cultists are continually harassed by Natala's flying scimitar, but, having cast all the protection spells they could, they resume their crossbow attacks.

    Inside, the arrogant Khabekh-Shu learns, the hard way, that sometimes the advantage of height doesn't suffice. The quick-flying Turi comes to the attack again, dropping the enemy sorcerer to the floor and doubling down with a swift kukri slash. In a mighty jump, the gigantic Vlarga reaches just high enough to land the killing blow! This results in the now familiar explosion as the blinding cartouche of the Forgotten Pharaoh appears on the man's chest and transforms him into pure heat and light, leaving only ashes behind...

    Lehasti and Azkin gasp in shared relief at the paladin's momentary reprieve from the sand golem's otherwise implacable assault as it momentarily loses focus. As it shifts in response to the barked order from above, She glares in fury, and with a roar she sweeps her supernaturally enlarged heavy flail at its center of mass, desperately hoping to disperse enough of the sand to render the creature inert. At her heel, the unseen Azkin rests a palm against his mistress's titanic flank, crying out, "Strike hard, and true, for the glory of the Everlight!!"

    Natala smiled for a moment as the golem was distracted by her trick, but when she heard the voice from somewhere above, she realized the golem's controller was not the same wizard Turi chased after. Frowning, she glanced back at the fight before her, wondering if she could help anymore. Unfortunately, a bolt interrupted her thoughts, embedding in her arm as she flinched back and narrowly avoided two more bolts. Knowing she had to get out of their line of fire, she heard Vershab's assertion of his summoned creature so she elected to move away, letting the spectral falchion continue to attack.

    Moving further into the chamberNatala glanced up seeking a target for her bow.

    Round 8 - Natala will drop the image since the golem seems to no longer be tricked. 30' to AT14 (move), attack vs C10 w/her short bow if she can see him w/point blank attack (standard). Attack 1 - (1d20+12)[24], Damage - (1d6+4)[10].

    If she cannot see him, she'll cast levitate on herself and join the others in the room above.

    Paladin and tiger gang up on the monstrous golem and pound the sand relentlessly, until it finally disperses and falls in a huge pile, surrounded by a cloud of dust. Reassured by this, and not willing to remain a target for bolts, Natala retreats inside. She gets a better look at the immobile creature in the room to the back. With the body of a lion, the wings of a falcon, and the head and torso of a beautiful human woman, she clearly is some sort of sphinx. But it is unclear if she's alive, or in some sort of suspended animation. A sheen of amber light covers her entire body.

    Meanwhile, Vlarga begins her climb between the two pillars, towards the crossbowman firing his weapon at someone on the higher level (Turi, blindly stumbling between the columns in an attempt to get cover). Natala rightly punishes him with a shot of her own, causing the man to retaliate with a spell - a arrow made of yellowish liquid. Outside, the Desert Walker's divine weapon continues to srike, triggering the immolation of yet another cultist. Bereft of directions, the spectral falchion reappears hovering next to her.

    Vershab conjures up another creature, or is that a miniature tornado? It seems to be under his control, as it flies up at an impressive speed to go harass the remaining cultists on the ledge. They continue firing at their only visible human target - Lehasti.

    Turi's sight returns, and he finds himself alone facing two enemies. One, having recovered from his own blindness, walks towards him before casting magic similar to his colleague's.

    But it is out, in the open, that the main shock comes. Without any warning, a rain of arrows strikes Lehasti from above! In front of Vershab's horrified eyes, the aggressor comes in plain view. It is the huge serpentine creature, with the armored upper body of a masked female, that he had seen in his scrying effort a few hours ago... and she emerges from invisibility, on the arch just a few paces away from him...

Azkin - hide, my magic is about to wear out!" directs Vershab as his summoned allies continue their assaults, the air elemental by buffeting the remaining cultists and the tiger by climbing up to try and intervene between the Mask-bearer and the Lamia Matriarch. "I saw this new enemy in my divinations - she is a lamia matriarch and her attacks will weaken your minds! I will try to hinder her until we can all converge on her together!" he explains as he steps behind a corner and becomes visible, necromantic magic sweeping from him as he attempts to blind the new enemy!

    The celestial tiger will attempt to leap up and climb the cliff wall to attack the new enemy "J" from the nearest possible point. With speed of 40 I am hoping to work from the tiger having 10-ft to run and get moving...

    Jump (Acrobatics): (1d20+10)[29] - can we divide this by 4 to get the height, in feet, from which the tiger starts climbing?
    Climb (Acrobatics): (1d20+10)[12] - If this roll is high enough I'd like to consider "accelerated climbing" for a -5 penalty to go at half-speed instead of quarter-speed.

    The goal is to get the tiger in melee range to harass her - I don't expect it to get to attack this round.

    If she incurs an AoO, the tiger will Smite Evil with a Claw attack: (1d20+10)[22] to hit, (1d20+10)[16] (20/x2), (1d8+12)[20] damage (includes smite bonus), (1d8+12)[14] critical strike damage, plus Grab (1d20+15)[30] to grapple.

    Natala glanced over as the blade appeared next to her, then smiled at the clear message - another cultist had fallen. Without a second thought, she mentally sent the blade flying upwards to engage with the cultist that had shot here with a sizzling arrow of caustic liquid. She followed the blade's attack with another shot from her bow, trying to end the man before he could do more harm. Once her attacks were made, she stepped back to hopefully limit any counter strikes.

    Vershab's summoned tiger makes a powerful jump to the wall, but fails to find purchase on the cliff's hard surface, and falls on the rocky ground below. Vershab takes a step back, and begins casting in an attempt to disable this new, monstrous opponent. Unfortunately, the serpent-bodied woman appears to be highly resistant to magic! As she sees the young arcanist emerge from invisibility right in front of her, the lamia matriarch erupts in fury:

    "So here is the impudent thief we were all looking for! Not only your friends had the audacity of stealing the Sky Pharaoh's blessed relic, but you DARE to wear it! Have you any idea what it truly is? The ka of the Most Blessed Ruler in Osirion's history! It's a piece of the god you desecrate with the contact of your putrid FACE!

    But the punishment, long overdue, is forthcoming! I, Jamirah, hereby claim the honor to be the Forgotten Pharaoh's vengeance personified!"


    For a frightful moment, Vershab wonders what onslaught he's going to face, but instead, Jamirah casts another spell, and vanishes from sight.

    Meanwhile, on the lower level, Natala resumes her killing routine, this time at the cultist who welcomed her with acid - a perfectly placed arrow is followed by a solid slash from her divine flying weapon. Focused on her direct enemy, in the corner of her eye she sees Lehasti's wide frame stagger inside, covered in blood, multiple arrows protruding from her pierced armor...

    Up above, Turi finds himself in a precarious position, two cultists converging on him. His relief is palpable when the monstrously enlarged Vlarga lifts her massive body up to the upper floor in a huge effort! The two cultists look at each other - they have witnessed how big a threat the enormous gnoll can be, but their masks hide any expression of fear. Invoking Hakotep's holy name, they instantly prove their fanatical credentials to him by throwing themselves at Vlarga, one on each side, falchions high in symmetrical sweeps... But the bloodrager's preternatural reflexes kick in. Her own falchion beheads the approaching cultist before it has a chance to strike. She leaps aside to escape the effects of the resulting incineration, while the second cultist's attack goes wide.

    Natala blinked in reaction to the flash of light as Vlarga slew one of the cultists on her climb up. However, one of the cultists remained engaged with the gnoll, so Natala continued to attack him. She saw Lehasti stagger back, but knowing Azkin was likely still nearby and the knight could heal herself gave confidence in the oracle to focus on removing threats from the field of battle.

    Round 10 - Natala will 5' step to AT15 (free), then attack C10 w/point blank and precise shot (full action), while spiritual weapon continues its assault, this time w/multiple attacks (free).

    I don't have a mechanical or rules-based ability to incite rage or recklessness in the enemy, but I'm hoping that Vershab's words will do just that with our remaining enemy/enemies. He's deliberately playing off what he knows of both the Sky Pharaoh and Lamia Matriarchs, trying to insult this new enemy and mock her, her faith, and her entire species. If a skill check is required all the social skills are the same value at +0 - (1d20)[3]. If Vershab can earn at least a circumstantial bonus from wearing the Mask of the Sky Pharaoh and his successful knowledge check earlier it would be amazing!

    Still breathing roughly from the ferocious assault, Lehasti peers through the doorway for any sign of hostiles. Seeing none, the tension releases for a heartbeat as the enlarged paladin takes stock.

    Azkin blinks into visibility at her flank, and the paladin favors him with a weary smile. "I promised you adventure, did I not?" she quips at the serious-faced young man, before turning her face and thoughts skyward. She spends a moment murmuring prayerfully, and her skin begins to take on a dull texture beneath the sheen of blood, sweat, dust and sand, after which she calls out, "A hand up, if someone would be so kind?" while stalking gingerly toward the hole in the chamber's ceiling...

    "Wretched desecrator! Your insults add NOTHING to the spiritual harm you have already done. But I shouldn't expect you to understand this, should I? You do well to go in hiding, it will buy you a few moments. I will deal with your allies first, so I can enjoy ENDING you at a better LEISURE!"

    The lamia's furious response echoes through the hollowed-out upper chamber, and Vlarga and Turi can hear the ominous sound of a large body slithering over the stony floor, closing on them. Both boy and gnoll brace for the unavoidable attack, but instead it is the sound of spellcasting they hear, right above their head... Vlarga looks up, to find the snake-woman, her long tail coiled around the column, longspear in hand as her eyes go heavy with a sudden feeling of exhaustion! Right in front Turi's eyes, his big ally falls to the floor and immediately begins to snore loudly... As she does so, her body reverts to her still impressive, but more normal size.

    "Turi - help is coming. Wake Vlarga," directs Vershab as he takes a deep breath and deliberately walks off the floor and into open air, hoping he can land (mostly) safely on Lehasti. As he moves, the invisible arcanist readies a wand and invokes its power, causing Lehasti to suddenly be both massively large and somehow lighter than air.

    "Now, get up there and attack that reptilian mutant!" groans Vershab in pain from the ground floor.

    Meanwhile outside Vershab's summoned elemental continues to attack the cultists and his celestial tiger scrambles towards the open hole in the ceiling as it tries to reach the party's enemy...

    The celestial tiger (-9 HPs) moves to the opening to the second floor and will try to get up to where the lamia can be attacked, leaping and climbing up as best it can.

    Jump (Acrobatics): (1d20+10)[13] - can we divide this by 4 to get the height, in feet, from which the tiger starts climbing?
    Climb (Acrobatics): (1d20+10)[26] - If this roll is high enough I'd like to consider "accelerated climbing" for a -5 penalty to go at half-speed instead of quarter-speed.

    The Medium Air Elemental will continue to slam cultists until they either die or it returns to its home plane: (1d20+9)[24] to hit, (1d20+9)[12] (20/x2), (1d6+3)[6] damage, (1d6+3)[7] critical strike damage.

    Vershab moves to deliberately fall adjacent to Lehasti. First 10-ft = nonlethal from it being deliberate, Acrobatics (1d20+1)[15] vs DC 15 for the next 10-ft (pass), and landing next to Lehasti: (1d6)[2] (negated), (1d6)[6] (non-lethal), (1d6)[4] (lethal) damage. Vershab falls prone. The non-lethal damage is reduced by Vershab's DR 5/- vs non-lethal damage.

    While moving he withdraws his wand of Fly (he has a +1 BAB, so this is legal as part of the move action). Vershab activates the wand as a standard action and touches Lehasti, making her fly.

    Hearing the commotion above, Natala glanced at Lehasit and prepared to aid the warrior in reaching the next level. However, something thudded nearby and she heard Vershab call out for Lehasti to head up. Trusting the man had done something to enable the paladin to reach the second level, Natala turned to her own needs. As the glowing blade returned to hover near her side, she let Lehasti move first, then stepped forward and held out a hand towards Azkin. "Come quickly if you wish to join your Lady."

    Round 11 - Natala will 5' step to AS14 (free), cast levitate (standard) and wait for Azkin to come over and head up 20' (move). Spiritual weapon will return to her.
