Looks like there is some supply limitation (of unknown size). And getting games for free does not let you play the meta-games that Steam tries to use to get people addicted to their story.

I think he means that it's permanently free, not a special time-limited offer. In which case, that's fine too, though we don't want to be swamped with every permanently free game, just the ones people think are worthwhile.

This doesn't include "free-to-play" titles. For those, please limit it to when a paid offering is available for free.

You can subscribe to their newsletter and you get notified every time there's a giveaway going on.

The service is mostly unobtrusive. But I would have missed most of the giveaways if I was not subscribed.
