Er...this is a PG-13 comic. I'd suggest that if this weren't, Celia might not be wearing so much. Or maybe our big bad fighter is just shy ;-)

As others have mentioned, the changing gender of the Oracle is what's most strange about this comic. Heck, in Origins, Roy even made an allusion to sweet-talking (at the least, if not more, *wink*wink*) the oracle herself!

So, ret-conning going to be happening, or is this comic going to be fixed? Personally, I'd rather have this comic fixed, as a "past romantic" between Roy and the Oracle, then her finding out about Celia, etc, could be a GREAT dimension to the comic.

And I hate ret-conning with a vengeance. In ALL circumstances. >:( (for the record, Han shot first)

Did somebody call for a really hairy plumber? Bow-chicka-bow-wow!

I came here to lay some pipe! Bow-chicka-bow-wow!

So I hear you got sisters... Bow-chicka.. Who are twins! Bow-wow!

Hey, are you a model or famous actress? Bow-chicka-bow-wow!

So, Celia is an elemental, right? That is her creature type, or whatever? Where in the monster manual does it list her, anyway?

**Snicker** I guess this means that she's Roy's type...

**Snicker** I wonder if Roy used a pretty light for foreplay... (Ooh, shiny...)

**Snicker** What kind of protection spell indeed! I think it would be a protection scroll...

i thought it was decent. of course, part of the problem for me is that giant set the bar pretty high right out of the gate.

i didn't notice the bump in the curtains or bedhead until afterwards, though.

i really hope this haley thing is resolved soon. i don't think the cryptograms are particularly entertaining so i find their continued use mildly annoying.

Yay, V's revenge continues! Hopefully much slapstick will ensue. Personally I'm looking forward to off-camera explosions, Belkar running around with a blindfold on to prevent reading anything, and hopefully a sneak attack of crushing despair.

I like that Haley wasn't seen much in this one, just enough to establish that she is there and not happy. Otherwise I think she would have been kind of distracting. Either every all the characters notice her and that interrupts the rest of the plot, or no one notices her and the reader is stuck wondering why no one is asking Haley what is wrong. It's just kind of convenient to have her out of the frame.

I like Roy's plan, but sometimes getting exposition to sound interesting is tough. It feels artificial here, and it kind of always does when someone has to explain everything.

On a more interesting note, am I the only one with this [spoiler-rific] theory about this Sunken Valley of the Oracle? Spoiler hidden [ That the "Sunken Valley" is actually the evil-gasm inducing valley of a thousand orcs? Who are now all gathered together waiting to invade?]

Just me and my crazy theories, huh?

Well, let's get this out of the way: Woohoo Roy!

That said, I'm anticipating that Belkar will endure many more booms, and that makes me smile.

I notice we barely see Haley in this strip. I'm dying for that to get resolved -- what was she about to tell Elan? Why does she think she's not good enough for him? Gah.

i really hope this haley thing is resolved soon. i don't think the cryptograms are particularly entertaining so i find their continued use mildly annoying.
I'm not responding specifically to this particular poster, but to everyone who has complained about the cryptograms in the main comic thread in the past 3 weeks.

People, as of now, Haley has spoken exactly three encrypted words in the past MONTH, and those three were so obvious I didn't need to go to the What Haley Said thread to figure out what they were. The last strip with lots of encrypted speech was 309, posted April 24th. A MONTH.

Can we please give the "I don't like cryptograms" posts a rest for a while? Like, oh, I dunno, until she actually says something encrypted in a strip??!

    Thank you.

P.S. As sure as I post this, she'll give a ten-panel encrypted monologue next strip and the Strip 319 thread will be nothing BUT "I don't like cryptograms" posts, but at least I tried. :'(

hm, i feel like something's missing. something should've happened between elan&haley by now.

    also: worst. punchline. evar.
well... maybe not exactly that bad, but it makes me go all "oh, come on." then again i'm this quirky person, annoyed by the typical way roy&celia "hit it off" (exactly that phrase), so that's not much of a surprise.
the elan&haley situation on the other hand makes me feel warm and fuzzy... and that's because of the fact that it's in all senses cuter, and the way i see it, more real. it just has me itching to see this whole gridlock resolved. that's what i'm waiting to see happen more than anything else.
