Re: OOTS #1123 - The Discussion Thread
Woah, not looking good! Espeically that important heal getting disrupted. I have no idea how they are supposed to get out of this. Then again I don't know much about D&D rules. Do they have a chance to shake it off each round?

Re: OOTS #1123 - The Discussion Thread
When I saw the title I laughed a little as I just had read a menage à 3 strip.. ^^'
Anyways.. great comic giant! Things truly are getting dire. I don't know how the order is gonna make it, but I hope everyone survives this one. O_OPanis et circenses

Re: OOTS #1123 - The Discussion Thread
Interesting with Belkar. Once again, though, my mind boggles at how Rich is going to get them out of this.

Love Belkar's motivation. And Roy taking Haley out of the fight for a few rounds without hurting her.

Re: OOTS #1123 - The Discussion Thread
Hm, I wonder if Belkar breaking the domination will be the key here. The vampire knows of the conversation durkon and V had. As far as he knows, Belkar despises V and would never protect them. And he might have only heard the other vampire gloating about how Belkar barely needed a push to attack Minrah.

Re: OOTS #1123 - The Discussion Thread
Why has Durkula/Greg/The-Corpse-formerly-known-as-Durkon turned his back?
Is he leaving Ponchella/Ponchola/Ponchula behind?
I hate that guy!

Re: OOTS #1123 - The Discussion Thread
Hi all!
I couldn't resist writing something since it'll be first page! Also, I'm delighted that Hilgya, even in her swirly status, casts 'Flame Strike' (I guess), while protecting the eyes of her child... I think that Roy could use that fact to turn the tables!

Re: OOTS #1123 - The Discussion Thread
Hmm, that looks pretty tough. They at least managed to take out most of the vampires first (including a couple of the clerics), so if Roy can sort out the sudden turnaround of most of the party here due to domination gaze, they might be able to still do well against Durkula. I'm still surprised he was able to dominate so many people so quickly though. I guess Roy is the only one with a good will save or any luck.

Re: OOTS #1123 - The Discussion Thread
Well, so much for V casting Magic Circle vs Evil.
Roy needs to shame Hilgya for taking orders from Undead, that might give her another save, and with her estimated will save, that ought to give her a chance to start going wild with the wand, or maybe even Magic Circle vs Law? If so, lets hope Durkula and his crew do not have more Dispel Magic available.

Re: OOTS #1123 - The Discussion Thread
Roy's sword protects him mostly I think.
Haley may have slippery mind and could get a second check.
But yeah, best bet is that they break free when they are ordered to do something against their nature.
Also, with dispel, it's luck of the roll which spell goes down. Plus we don't know if they did area effect or targeted dispels. Big difference.Last edited by tufttugger; 2018-06-04 at 02:26 PM.

Re: OOTS #1123 - The Discussion Thread
This reminds me why I hate fighting vampires ... from 1st ed to 5th, DMs always use the charm gaze attack. Sigh.

Re: OOTS #1123 - The Discussion Thread
Probably more a "general" question than specifically about this strip, but do we know what Greg's belt does (I assume its glow is indicative of "magic" ... it's been going on for a while (at least), so it's not some recent spell-casting, I don't think).

Re: OOTS #1123 - The Discussion Thread
Well, this answers if Haley could or could not sneak attack V or Roy in her first attack against them. She could.
Now we also know Hylgia had another (not empowered this time) Flame Strike prepared. Let's keep counting spells.
One less Spawn.
And what the Greg's Boss is Elan doing?Last edited by D.One; 2018-06-04 at 02:40 PM.
Each one of us, alone, is but a drop in the sea
Our powers pale compared with the great heroes
Our battles don’t hit theheadlines or shake the earth
But they are few, can’t be everywhere, and we, many
So, when the world or universe needs saving, they come
But when people needs saving, we are the ones to appear
We're underdogs, but we rise up to the challenge to be heroes.

Have we ever seen Vaarsuvius at 0 hp before??
