R3T16: Zoo moves slightly to be adjacent to Hanley and Jean. With no enemies are apparent, he shakes Jean and barks in his face to rouse him.

Jean, you awake to find Zoo barking in your face and your scimitar lying on the ground beside you.

R3T9: With a surprising bust of speed, O1 disappears from behind the pillar ... behind Björn, and into the midst of Haru and Akbar. Akbar easily shrugs off the sleepy effect of the mist, but Haru - despite not needing sleep for biological reasons - drops without any resistance, his nunchaku falling out of his hand. O1 then punches Akbar in the chest for 6. Akbar is definitely feeling the pain of his continuing wounds now.

R3T2: Jean, Haru just dropped by you. The sound of combat is to the southwest. Your scimitar is out of your hand beside you. You are prone. What do you do?

Snatching up his scimitar, his brief bout of sleep not having calmed his grief and rage, Jean fights through the bleary haze of emotions to sharpen his mind and lay a working down over his body.

R4T23: Gaye moves quickly around the pillar towards the strike that she heard. Seeing the oneirogen, she stabs her in the hand for 10.

R4T21: Akbar now fixes his terribel glare on O1, hitting her in the stomach for 11 with his walking stick.

R4T20: Björn, you hear fighting to the south, but Haru is lying at your feet to the south as well. What do you do?

Björn will step over the sleeping figure and move south towards the sound of combat.

R4T20: Björn steps over the sleeping figure and move south towards the sound of combat, but finds he has to shift west when rubble and enemy block his progress, but he can't step on Haru, either. O1 punches Björn on his armor pretty ineffectually. Björn, for his part, makes a sloppy attack, and yet it is still enough to slash her along the hip for 7, but not enough to push her.

R4T16: Zoo barks as he heads toward the sounds of battle. With any luck he'll be able to get a nip in before it's over. Sure enough, he sees the oneirogen and is about to leap up to bite the shoulder, and bites her for 7.

His guard up, glancing back and forth and trying to see through the mist, Jean steps over to the slumped form of Haru and flips him over with his foot. He shakes him, roughly, not taking his eyes away from the surrounding mist.

R5T23: Gaye nips the oneirgen in the belly for 8 with her rapier, but drops it nonetheless. Mists stop pouring out of its mouth.

Björn will look around as the mists clear, and ask, "Does anyone have a spare sword I can borrow? I broke mine..."

The Zoo-dog gently grabs his nearest allies with his arms as he gives happy barks in an effort to gather the team.

Haru will no doubt stand up and grab his nunchaku. Jean and Akbar are getting puppy-hugs. Gaye wakes up Lord Hanley, who grabs his dagger and stands.

The party, sensing that the mist is clearing, allows it a minute to clear. That is when the party notices that to the south, one of the first Apostles in Orpiment to go down in the other room (courtesy of a color spray) is standing to the south of the party. He isn't facing the party. He does have his crowbar in hand, but his arms are calmly at his sides. He seems to be studying the pictures on the wall to the south. It is not known how long he has been there, possibly even during your battle with the oneirogens.

What do you do (no initiative, though I am tracking the clock for durations)?

Zoo is astonished that this man hasn't been brought out of his art application by all of the doggy growls and borks. He motions to the others, pointing at the man and then miming a blow to the head.

Moving as quietly as he can, sword still in hand, Jean will approach the apostle from behind and try to get a look at the paintings that have captivated him.

Jean, you see the many, many charcoal drawings attached to the wall fluttering as if by an unseen wind.

Zoo is astonished that this man hasn't been brought out of his art application by all of the doggy growls and borks. He motions to the others, pointing at the man and then miming a blow to the head.

Lord Hanley puts his dagger in a hidden arm-sheath and slowly, quietly saunters over next to the man as casually as if a fellow art lover in a museum. As quietly as he did that, it just barely catches the attention of the apostle. The apostle looks down at the little man beside him, nods to him, and then looks back at the pictures.

Lord Hanley carefully steps back to the others and whispers (but still in earshot of Jean, who is behind the apostle), "The drawings appear to have some type of enchantment. I could feel the fluttering nature of them almost lull my own mind into a trance. And that is what that guy is ... fascinated."

"Well then." Jean whispers back. Still mourning the loss of Javert, he's disinclined towards mercy. He lines up his sword with the fascinated apostle's neck, and with a single chop brings it down.

Surprise ...

S17: Either he was faking brilliantly, or the apostle sensed danger before Jean could consummate it despite the strange, fluttering images, but the apostle spins around a lot faster than the armored half-drow and brings the crowbar up between Jean's legs for 11.

S11-5.1: Lord Hanley spins around carefully to flank with Jean, pulling out his dagger. He hesitates until Jean's focus is not surprised by the man anymore and then stabs him in the back for 18.

S5: Jean's blow finally lands but on the upper arm instead, grazing for 7.

R1T19: Gaye steps around til give others more of a chance to press the apostle, critting him in the left shoulder for 12.

R1T17: The apostle steps back, badly wounded, and swings at Jean, his crowbar skipping off Jean's armor.

R1T16: Haru, the totem of war is still active. What do you do?

Haru will take a moment to assess and then move in on the enemy, hoping to strike it down with a single quick attack with his magic imbued Nunchaku.

R1T16: Haru will take a moment to assess and then move in on the enemy, hoping to strike it down with a single quick attack with his magic imbued unchaku. He tries too quickly, spins too fast around and releases his nunchaku. The spinning weapon, still imbued with frost energy, flies 20' NE to hit the pillar right by Akbar's head, and the nunchaku shatter (and likewise splinter some of the stone of the pillar as well.

Seeing the attempted coup turn south, Zoo runs over to the apostle and tries to put him down quickly.

Björn will begin to look around for a replacement for his broken sword.

Björn fruitlessly begins searching this room for a sword, but after a minute he realizes .... the oneirogens fought with their fists. The Apostles in Orpiment fought with crowbars and other weapons of opportunities (which Björn doesn't know how to wield effectively) and saps. And the Bag Lady? Also fists.

No, nothing so noble and high-minded as a sword was in the hands of those you fought.

Rest of party, that will take Björn one minute for a fast look and to realize his dilemma. What do the rest of you do?

Zoo resumes his normal form and helps Björn search the bodies. When it's discovered that no blade is forthcoming, he says "If it helps, I have this kitchen knife you can use. But, uh, please be careful with it. There's not much in the way of cutlery here from what I've seen."

Groaning at the pain of what force had made it through his spell, Jean looks to the others. "Some healing magics... would be appreciated." he manages to rasp, before turning to the problem at hand. "I, too, have a dagger but nothing better. Perhaps we may find you a sword in the next room? This place, it must have had guards, yes? We have yet to see a guardhouse."

"I'm not so sure Jean. I believe this is supposed to be a place of healing and swords seem like the opposite of healing to me."

Lord Hanley looks confused at Jean, nodding with Zoo. "I think the old lady and these 'apostles' were the guards, with these oneirogens doubling not only as lovely makers of ambiance, but a sort of guard set as well. There might be more guards once we head down that western hallway, but I think this was what was to be expected."

"I was speaking of the initial guards of this asylum-place, before whatever happened here happened." Jean said. "But perhaps Zoo is right. The question is academic anyway - Bjorn, you will have to make do for now. One of Winter's guards may have one, but I do not wish to wait and give the Apostles time to adjust."
