"Silence!" another of the soldiers roars. "We are doing the right thing."

None of them shows any doubt or hesitation despite the threat.
"You'll see once the deed is done!" the man with the sword says. Their victim creams in terror as the weapon is raised to strike

Hesper immediately shoots the man with the sword.

Shauna charges the man, but he remains steadfast in his commitment. "This is the only way" he says, before Skerak's stone blast crushes him. The sword drops from nerveless fingers.
"They must be in league with the fiends!" one of the warriors shouts. They draw swords, one of them holding their victim down. One attacks Shauna, the other leaves her threatened area to charge against Skerak.

The warrior holding down the woman, their victim, struggles against Luna's spell. "Our cause... Is righteous..."
Shauna gives the warrior charging Skerak a parting gift, a sash along his thigh. Though he struck Skerak, his leg gives and he collapses. Two warriors remain, able to ward off the heroes' attacks with desperation. Diamond fires his pistol, but misses. He reloads his weapon.

The woman, sensing her opportunity, renews her struggle, as the other warrior attacks Shauna.

The battle continues, with Shauna and Diamond finding their attacks parried or dodged by the desperate foe. The one pinning down the victim is killed by Skerak's rock blast. Luna chants her spell, and the enemy tosses aside the weapon rather than sear his fist. Furious, he draws a dagger and attacks Shauna again.
"Fools! You doom us all!" he cries, desperate. Hesper moves to flank the enemy, trying to take advantage of his distraction, drawing her blade in the process, her blow landing moments before that of the enemy, not hurting him, but fouling his attack.

Seeing the woman's attacker struck down, Luna runs over to her, chest bouncing, quickly firing off a burst of healing. "Don't worry, you're safe now. Look at what those lunatics did to you..." Then, noticing how torn up the young woman's clothes are, she decides to offer her own. She strips out of her, completely immodest, brief outfit, and offers it to the woman. "Here, it's not much, but wear mine for now. Well get back to Defender's Heart with you."

The now-nude woman seems more concerned about the woman's modesty than her own (which is to say, cares at all).

While playfully teasing Luna, Diamond took out a regular cartridge to load in his pistol. He also studied a new target, hopefully one less than 30 feet away so his bullet could ignore the protection any armor gave the target.

The girl, teary-faced, nods and puts the clothes she is given over the tatters of her own. Honestly, it's not such an improvement, but it clearly earns her gratitude.

Seeing all enemies down, Luna breathes a sigh of relief as well. "Hi, I'm Luna, one of the working girls from the Dancing Dryad, a few streets down from Defender's Heart. We're investigating some cultist safehouses on behalf of the surviving crusaders. Can you walk? We're on our way back to Defender's Heart to report in, so we'll keep you safe on the way there."

She gently grabs the woman and helps her up. If she needs help walking, the woman can have an arm around Luna's shoulder. "Were they really going to sacrifice you to...empower themselves to fight demons or something? What gave them THAT stupid idea?"

Looking back at Shauna, she smiles. "And hey, while it is painfully *accurate*...I still have feelings you know? I mean, I'm pretty sure I've had less than 1000 men total..." She winks to make it clear she's joking, regarding her feelings towards how Shauna said that Luna is completely immune to being sacrificed for virgin blood rituals, on account of likely having had hundreds of men.

The paladin sheathes her weapon as the crusader falls. "My name is Shauna Lightsworn, miss. And I'm pleased to see you still live. Stand up. We will take you somewhere safe. The demons are still patrolling this area, and they have the superior numbers for now."

She looks at Luna crossly. "I'm pleased to see you still have some feelings left. It's more than the men who pay for you will be able to say, anyway."

"I think I can…" the young woman says. "Thank you so much… All of you…"

"If there is... If there's a safe place... my parents need to know too. They're old and frail and can't fend for themselves. Could you…?" she leaves the question hanging, clearly hating that she needs to ask for even more.

The nude cleric looks to her allies. "Well, we can't just leave her parents hanging. I say we go help them now, and bring them all back to Defender's Heart."

Looking back at the woman, she asks, "What's your name, miss? And what were you doing out and about in these dangerous times anyways?"

"Enough people have died today," Shauna agrees. "We will happily help your parents to safety."
