"Lann, come help me hit this guy! These guys have tough skin." Lanns comes to aid Luna in attacking. Luna takes a quick step to flank the first demon with Shauna, and hopes to pulverize it.

"Lann, come aid the others in hitting the remaining demon!" Luna then moons the one remaining enemy for infuriate it further.

Luna taunts the enemies. "Hey UGLIES. Check THIS out! I mean if I were you, I'd be self-destructive too." With that, she raises her metal shield and uses it as a mirror to force the abrikandilus to look at their own reflections. Then, she goes into a defensive stance, ready to draw aggro.

The demon is brought down in a barrage of blows. Shauna and Irabeth both land telling blows, with Radiance biting deep, leaving the wound burning thanks to its cold iron make. Already injured, the raging demon focuses its attention on Luna. Before it can land an attack, however, Hesper catches it unawares, her blade finding home in the creature's innards. It twitches, then collapses to the ground.

The group finds a tiefling freed from captivity, followed by Lann, emerging from the room behind them.

The room itself is trash, with two ruined bodies, ruined shelves, ruined floor... mostly it's just ruined. The only exception is the weapon carried by the demon, which seems no worse for wear. A morning star wrought of dense, black metal.

Shauna relaxes. "Monsters! If another one of them shows up, I will be forced to employ every tool in my arsenal!" She smiles at her comrades. "Does anyone need healing?"

Skerak picks up the morningstar and hefts it for a moment. "This might be useful in close quarters..."

"Thank you so much for rescuing me. I am Rosa, and I am skilled at both some magic and some fighting. Can I come along with you and help?

Rosa waves her long red tail behind her nervously while bearing a toothy grin full of razor-sharp teeth.

[Frosty]

The aasimar smiles back at the paladin. "My shield and I are fine. These pathetic demons did not even scratch my skin!"

Looking to the newcomer, Luna responds, "Hi there. I'm Lunalesca, but you can just call me Luna. These are my friends Shauna, Skerak, and Hesper. We're here to kick demon ass and foilt heir nefarious plans. You in? It's dangerous, so if you want to just get to safety, you'll need to make your way to Defender's Heart. We can't escort you, however, as we must press forward."

She gives a warm smile and puts forward a hand to shake.

"I wish to join you. My parents were both Riftwardens and I want to follow in their footsteps. My great grandfather was a gold dragon, too, and that's got to count for something, right?"

"Who your parents are or were don't matter. It's you who we're saving, and it's you who will help save this city. Come on, help me put the bodies by the shrine. We'll clean and take care of the bodies on our way out, assuming we succeed. We're looking for the wardstone, or what's left of it anyways."

She goes and starts dragging the mutilated bodies to lay them to temporary rest at the shrine. "Let's check out the next room."

Irabeth gives Rosa a toothy smile. "Welcome aboard." she says. "You should talk to this elf called Aravashinal when we get out of here. He's a Riftwarden too. Maybe he knew your parents."

She moves to help Luna with the bodies.

The next room is a hall, with a door forward and to the left.

"Your great-grandfather was a what now?"

Hesper moves to help with the bodies as well, after a minute.

"Riftwardens, you say? Well, we are here to fulfill their role in their stead. Our efforts here will see Kenabres saved!" Shauna declares.

[Zhentarim]

Helping with the bodies, Rosa still manages to ask lots of questions. While huffing and puffing and dragging a particularly heavy body to the shrine, she asked "When we get to the wardstone, what are we going to try to do? Fix it?"

Rosa has a habit of swaying her tail when she thinks, and she is noticeably swaying her tail to and fro, even as she works to move the bodies.

"Also, are you doing some kind of purification ritual here?"

[Frosty]

"Here? I plan to restore this shrine after we save Kenabres. Earlier we cleaned it a bit with water. As for the wardstone, we are likely to destroy it so the enemy can't use it."

The aasimar cleric points to the northern door. "I hear at least two sets of footsteps there. You guys hide again. I can try to pretend to be one of them again."

[Kallimakus]

Luna unlocks the door using the key they found. He sees a trio of cultists, identified as worshipping Deskari, lord of the Locust Host, by the holy symbol they wear and the scythes they carry. This room was once a proper temple, rather than the simple shrine found above. Statues of heroes of the First and Second crusades have been roughly decapitated, their heads smashed into the altar in the far corner. Said altar has been upended, and topped with an abominable handiwork, a flesh sculpture of a locust made from the remains of those that defended Kenabres.

The cultists, one man and two women, gaze at Luna.
"My, my, my... A lost templar in our midst?" one of the cultists says.
"Didn't your lot get the shrine to desecrate? This one is ours."

Realizing that the one of the cultists just tried to insult her, she pretends to not notice by giving off some 'bimbo' vibes. She had considered being more aggressive, but decided that it would make it less likely for the cultists to do what she wanted.

"Oh hi! Yeah we totally got our own shrine to like...des...des...to mess with. But I think we found like, some special clues pointing to a hidden armory. But I like, totally can't figure out those clues, so can you 3 come look with me? It's on the altar in the other room. If you help me figure it out, I'll share the loot with ya! What do you say?"

Luna gives a giggle, hoping that the cultists will think she's too stupid to be lying to them.
