Skerak, Rosa, Hesper and Luna make their way out of the gas cloud. Shauna strikes at the fiend, inflicting some hurt to it. Those outside can only see silhouettes shrouded in the miasma. From outside, many footsteps can be heard, which to Skerak include one set that seems like claws or hooves on the stone floor rather than boots or the shuffling feet of the dretches.

Shauna narrowly evades a deadly blow, though the attack still leaves her weak. She remains strong against the cloud of noxious gas and attacks the dretch again.

Luna cant do anything to the little monster as long as it's still in the cloud, and Lann is still trying to stop coughing, so Luna jst gives another minor blessing to Shauna. But, she DID hear something. "Hey, I think I hear sounds coming from the room where we left the alchemist. Can someone check on that?"

Luna casts Guidance on Shauna for +1.

The demon withstands Shauna's attack, but is cut down by Irabeth. The stinking cloud starts to disperse. The dretch looms in the dispersing smoke, no longer obscured. As the situation is revealed, the tiefling bomber is no longer lying on the ground unconscious. From where you are looking, you don't have a good view on the room he was in. It's possible he's hiding. But the steps definitely were entering the main room. In the fading mist, you can see a conspicuous outline where gas is absent.

With the mist dissipating, Luna is finally able to step in and thwack the last remaining demon in the room (using her cold iron light mace)! She flanks the dretch with Shauna. Lann also recovers from heaving, and takes a shot.

The invisible foe is but a vague outline in the dispersing mist, avoiding Shauna's and Skerak's attacks. Hesper and her mongrel ally also fail to hurt the man, though one arrow does plink off the invisible figure. Irabeth moves to block the door with Shauna, using her Paladin ability to try and hone in on the alchemist's location. Luna readies herself to cast Guidance on the next one to attack the tiefling, while Rosa readies an action to shoot him with magic missiles.

The mists disperse fully, and the outline is no more. A vial shatters on the stone floor, dropped from invisible hands. Healing energies dance about empty air.
"Your misplaced mercy will be your downfall" the invisible alchemist says.

"Lann, close the other door. We're making sure he stays in here with US." Luna will go close one door to the room, and have Lann close another. If there is a third door in the current room where the enemy was last seen, Luna will ask one of the other mongrel people to close that door as well. Closed doors are the bane of invisible people. "Post a guard at each door, and then we'll sweep the room."

Initially, Rosa can't see the enemy, her spell readied and waiting. With Lann and Luna closing the doors, and the rest of the group guarding them, there are a few tense heartbeats before there is a slight hiss, and the alchemist casts a bomb at the door guarded by Irabeth and Shauna. He flickers into view, and Rosa lets her spell rip, missiles knocking the tiefling alchemist down for a second count.

"Hey Shauna, Rosa, help me with this will ya? Let's right this altar and clean the blood off of it. Hesper and Lann please keep an eye out for any danger."

After righting and cleaning the altar, Luna has a hunch. "Hey Shauna, can you kneel before this altar, in front of the glow section, and recite the phrase we saw earlier? I think it was...'Let us inherit thine arms, Iomedae' but do it in Celestial."

[Kish]

"Huh." After wiping off her rapier, Hesper nods at Luna's request and watches for yet more enemies.

Shauna blinks. "What, you think that there will be some other magic weapon here? Well, I'm certainly not opposed to speaking with the general."

She kneels before the altar and closes her eyes, speaking with conviction. "(Celestial) Let us inherit thine arms, Iomedae."

[Kallimakus]

"I'm still brimming with energy" Irabeth says. "Well, about enough for one burst. Plus, we got the supplies on our way here. There were more healing potions there." She examines the body of the alchemist, relieving him of a thin, oblong case.

The mongrelmen stand watch as the effigy is dismantled, the bloodstains washed away, a process that eats minute after minute. It's days old, and stubbornly clings to the stone.

The wall, meanwhile, parts, a section swinging away and revealing a pristine chamber. Lit with a magical heatless flame, the small chamber is free of dust. A holy symbol of lomedae hangs unmolested on the wall above a weapon rack filled with swords, crossbows, and spears. Three wooden dummies wear pristine suits of armor. A shelf holds several leather quivers, each stamped with a golden sun. Two silver shields hang from pegs on the wall.

Rosa isn't very interested in the loot but she wants to help however she can.

Shauna hesitates as she looks upon the armory. "This...is this a gift from the General?" She looks down at the sword in her hand. "I've already taken so much...but at the same time...Kenabres needs me."

She looks back at Skerak for a moment, before she takes a breath and steps forward. "Irabeth, sir, I'll be claiming this."

She moves a bit away for privacy's sake, and removes her breastplate to replace it with the special breastplate. She also picks up the special steel shield and hangs it tightly on one wrist.

[Frosty]

Luna smiles at the bounty they find. "I'm glad this secret armory was un-despoiled. I guess the stupid minions of evil couldn't find this treasure trove."

As Luna helps carry the items, she looks at how haggard people are looking. "The alchemist was tougher than he looked. I'm almost dry on healing myself. With all the stuff we found, we should just take the opportunity to haul it all back to Defender's Heart. Then, we can identify what we found, and plan out another assault tomorrow. Any objections?"

Shauna shakes her head. "A bed and a breather sounds good right now..."

[Frosty]

"Hah! There are still some soldiers we couldn't get to...motivating...last night. But I understand if your fortitude is not as steely compared to one such as myself." the cleric retorts, winking.

Rosa smiles a toothy grin and decided to get close to Luna, asking "Where do you come from?"

[Frosty]

"Well, I've lived in this city for a few months now, although I was originally a slave in Cheliax. What about you?" responds Luna.
