Design and Development: Elves
I haven't seen a post on this yet, so I thought I'd make one. What do you all think of the latest Design and Development article over at Wizards'? Sounds like they're trying to cut down on subraces, making wood elves the standard issue elves and shafting high elves altogeather. Which I don't like, personally, although the description they give those wood elves is decent. If high elves are gone though, it sounds like elven wizards won't be as common as before, which subtracts from the mysterious-magical feel they have always had.
Also, whats this with talking about eladrins as their 'cousins'? I thought eladrins were outsiders?
Edit: Oh, and here's a link

Re: Design and Development: Elves
There's already a thread on this, but it's dropped to page 4, so you're fine.
Anyways, on topic, I for one welcome our new modified elven overlords. I never really like the old high elven fluff. 'We're super-civilized, and immortal and junk, but we're still more in tune with nature than you'll ever be. Nyah.' I think that the new fluff is closer to the elves' faerie roots.
