If you go a couple strips further on, when Durkon is giving his speech, you'll see Grampa is sound asleep sitting on the bench.

I just noticed that when Prime Minister Jirix talked to Gobbotopia, he mentioned elven wizards, plural, during the Darth V escapade. Does Team Evil believe there was a second elf that helped teleport V and O-Chul out? Or is that just propaganda for the nation to avoid admitting it was a single wizard?

It occurred to me that the "True Neutral is towards Chaotic" bit in the Thor Ride isn't actually a result of spacing stuff out but a sidejab at TN players acting more like they are CN than anything else.

It's the map of the outer planes. "Let's not get too carried away" is presumably TN, but its off towards CN.

I understand what you are talking about, and even relate to the feeling - I myself have seen many of this "Neutral" "I do whatever I want" characters.

I don't really see such jab in the scene, though.

OTOH, I've just noticed that the plane whose phrase is "Nothing Matters" is black, and the "Black Album" is the Album from Metallica in which "Nothing Else Matters" is featured.

It's a jab at how people use alignment when playing D&D. For the most part, people playing CN are just jackasses, which means most of the CN behavior gets shoved into TN.

I don't think the 'map' is about that, because Rich isn't that enamored of the system.

IIRC, the "Black Album" was actually called Smell the Glove, did not have "Nothing Else Matters" on it, and spurred a philosophical discussion on how much more black the album could be, culminating in at least one proclamation of none. None more black.

Pretty sure Smell The Glove was a mock album of the fake band Spinal Tap.

Metallica's Black album does have the song Nothing Else Matters.

Sounded great, especially when playing a sort of fusion with influences from Mozart and Bach, sort of a Mach piece.

With all that's been said, I did a little research and discovered something I didn't know. The real name for Metallica's "Black Album" is... Metallica.

It's indeed an undiscovered detail I had never noticed...

Or Rich wanted the trio to be in the center of the panel and had to adjust the central plane (TN) to be somewhere else...

And alignment is so screwed up, if one does not know a thing about it. I heard a player say something like this once: "Yeah, go ahead, kill this defenseless prisoner we just interrogated. I don't care if he lives or dies, I'm true neutral..."

I mean I guess its more likely that it was nothing, but it's more funny if there's a little jab.
Of course, its all personal tastes at that point...not actually meaning much. I'm probably looking at things too closely anyways.

Lord Tyrinar the Bloody was perceptive enough to realize some of the things wrong with "his" kingdom, but not clever enough to realize that keeping his mouth shut(at least, for the time being) would be smarter - which is probably why his rule - 11 months - was shorter than average - "every few years", according to the previous strip.

That got me thinking how Tyrinar got involved into overthrowing the previous government. He doesn't seem like the revolutionary kind of person, at least, not the revolutionary "kill the former ruler" kind.
