Reinholdt smiles just a little bit. "Thanks Professor." That's apparently a thing now. "Anyways, it's one thing to talk about. Execution's probably going to be bumpy, but it's good to have a direction to work towards."

Rein puts away the displays. "Speaking of which, unless there's anything else, I'm going to go get started on that."

Well, is there anything I can do to help?

I don’t want you to have to do everything yourself, don’t wanna be someone who sits around and lets everyone else do all the work.

Reinholdt shrugs. "Sure. Lots of things. Go recruiting the intellectual types. Offer Felandria classes. Buy upgrades to the labs and library we have here to make them more enticing for those who'll use them. Go on adventures to collect rare books if you can't find them at the market. Spread the word about what we do now. Pretty much anything and everything you can think of." So much to do, so little time.

"As the leader, you don't need to ask to help. Just take initiative and guide people towards the goals you have for HALO. More people are likely to follow you that way."

    HALO Open House

It’s time to open the doors and show the place off, make the effort to recruit like minded individuals to join HALO.

Felandria is around to answer questions, hopefully everyone else will show up soon.

There is a fresh arrival. Maria Kayin is a stocky human in her thirties, currently wandering around with a book in hand. You'd think it'd be a pamphlet of some sort, but it's nothing of the sort. It appears to be a treatise on the effects of flora availability on subterranean cultures. I'm sure it must be fascinating. Based on how she continues to peer through her glasses at it with her head down, not in the least watching where she's going, I guess she must find it absolutely enthralling.

But she was grown up now so instead... she's going attempt very gently and carefully carry Rein into the cab. Well, this time it was going to work right?

((We can probably jump to Inside now.))
No cat can sleep through being picked up for any reason, regardless of the amount of alcohol involved! Rein briefly goes 'wuh?' before realizing that he's awake cause the cab is here. Right. Cab. Who's this? Oh yeah. Reporter lady. "HALO please..." Rein mutters to the cab driver before falling right back asleep.

Which makes him more or less rested? when they arrive and Faith inevitably wakes him up again. Well rested enough to try and pay the fare before clumsily leaping from her lap onto the ground outside. Results vary. "Rightss. Shuttles are this way. Ever been here before?" Reinholdt asks, moving towards the lake.

    HALO it is!

    And so here they were.
    HALO.
A organization Faith had believed had choose to leave the spotlight forever only to return with Felandria as its new leader. The question was what in what direction she'd take the organization with VIGIL clearly trying to claim the position as the defenders of the nexus while HALO still defended places elsewhere, or so she had heard.

But while she had never actually been here she had seen pictures of the shuttle bays though, yet it appeared they had been updated since those had been taken. The place looked pretty nice... well, time to wake up the cat and escort him Inside. "Can't say I have." She replies while following. "Pretty nice establishment you have here, the actual base have be something special for sure."

Rein climbs into the shuttle, waits for Faith and starts it up. "Yeah, it's pretty decent," Reinholdt says as they submerge into the water. "Better than cold castles and desolate graveyard citadels." Rein stares out the window for most of the trip, looking for fishies, or the past, or ghost fishies. Never can tell with a cat.

Regardless, they arrive quickly and Rein steps out. "Lemmee show you around. A lot of people highlight our pool and hot tub and other recreational facilities. But I think the best parts of HALO are in its labs and libraries, since the Vulpans put such emphasis on intel. Like, um, this way. We got a nurse on staff in the medical lab. You should get looked at while you're here. You've been fuzzy and wobbly all night." Rein starts staggering towards the infirmary.

I assume starting it up is only a matter of pressing a button, with instructions of which button to push, or Faith might not be sure how to start up the vehicle.

"Certainly is. GloG's campsite is pretty nice too. Couldn't stand living in a floating base like in VIGIL however." Faith replies as the shuttle starts going. Now she really wished she wasn't in this costume. She should have tried changing in the cab or something, coming into a place like this looking like some LARP'er, or worse, one of those adventurers. She certainly had nothing to do with either group.

Rein was usually quiet though, hopefully the alcohol wasn't getting him depressed, from what she had head he had plenty to be depressed about.

As they arrive and get out of the shuttle she lets out a low whistle. "Nice place, and yeah, I think the Nexus Insider wrote about twenty articles involving that damn hot tub. Always without a single quote from an actual HALO member." She chuckles and shakes her head. "How did you survive all those stupid rumors? I certainly would like to know more about your labs than your pools. My neighbor has one, they aren't that uncommon. Don't think I need to get myself looked at though, I feel fine."

It's actually a lever! Buttons are fun, but levers have more gravitas.

Rein takes a moment pondering Faith's question as they walked. "Well, frankly, we didn't, if I'm being honest. Words are extremely powerful as I'm sure you're well aware. They've always been my first go to. If you take stock of who is actually here now you'll find that most, if not all, active members are ones who weren't around for those rumors and were generally unaffected by them and their unfortunate consequences. The emotional scars were quite crippling. Or so I've been told."

"That's in the past though. Resurrection and rebirth is another theme I'm quite fond of. We have new staff and are more interested in going forward. There's still a lot of good we can accomplish. At least, in my opinion anyways." The cat's opinion could be called a fluff piece.

The Infirmary at last! Rein pushes open the door and calls out. "Hello?"

Oh wait, is she part of everyone else?
Honeysuckle would have figured that Fel and Rein, you know, the leaders, would have covered this.
But here she is, for some reason, at the open house, stepping out of the way of this distracted visitor.

"You looking for something? Library, probably? Is what I'd guess. If I had a guess."

Honeysuckle is a fox-girl, with fuzzy black ears and two semi-floofy tails. She has on some odd steampunk goggles with visible gears and pinions; they completely block out any ability to see.

The Infirmary at last! Rein pushes open the door and calls out. "Hello?"
    Infirmary

"Oh! Hello!" Comes a voice from the back! She, for the voice is definitely feminine, sounds excited, though likely clumsy, judging by the crashing of trays and small metal things that scatter onto the floor as she trips somewhere off in the infirmary.

"Ow." A pause for a moment, before another "Ow!" With more clattering, as she knocks something over in the process of standing up fully.

After she does though, she comes careening around the corner and into view!
    She's very pink.
    And very, very floofy.
Aside from one of her many tails that is much more of a dusty grey. Apparently she was using it to brush up the dust.
"Hello! May I help you at all?" She's dressed in a . . . traditional? Generic? Stereotypical? nurse outfit, and her tails quiver slightly in excitement.

"Mhmm, I'm sure I could even help with that. Could probably make an article about the resurrected HALO and your humanitarian efforts- er, all the good things you do, I mean." 'Humanitarian' was not really a work that worked that well in Inside, and in New Inside it could even mean to exclusively only help humans. "I honesty feel bad that an organization such as yours was brought low by some greedy sensationalists. That fact is a blemish of the reputation of my profession."

She then falls silent as Rein is looking around, quietly wondering if she was going to see some familiar faces in this new HALO.

Her yellow orbs widens as she hears trays crashing about and she turns around and moves in the direction of the sound as the racket suggested this woman needed help. The nurse appearance makes her stop dead in her track though. That was a lot of floof.
Straightening up after her initial shock, Faith offers her gloved hand to the nurse for a handshake. "Faith Sunsworn, investigative reporter for the Nexus Insider." She introduces herself. "Nice to meet you, ma'm. I'm coming with Rein here from Magtok's spooktober party, and we're still in our costumes as you can see." The journalist turns to Rein. "And you wanted a check-up, yeah?"

Faith's appearance and costume is described here.

Honeysuckle is not part of everyone else. That refers to visitors. She is welcome to volunteer though.

"Huh?" The woman looks up when she realizes someone is there. There's a moment of examination as Honeysuckle's appearance is taken into consideration. She has not seen very many fox girls, despite hearing of their prevalence in the Nexus. May need to visit Foxside at some point. "Ah, uh, yes. I have probable intentions of gaining membership, but a preview of the library within would not go remiss."

Maria attempts to smile, but it comes across as awkward and forced. She must not smile very often.

    [Infirmary]

Well Rein certainly won't turn down any help Faith can offer. In the meantime, however, he winces empathetically on behalf of the klutzy nurse. The amount of crashing metal things just sounds painful to the small blue cat.

"As far as parties go it was soooo basic and dull!" Reinholdt complains unnecessarily to the nurse as if she could somehow fix this. "But there were some interesting people there at least, and the booze was absolutely above standard. So it was worth it!" Rein's alcohol laden breath at least stays close to the floor away from anyone's nose.

"So I was showing Faith around because..." Wait how did this end up happening? Well whatever. "I wanted the check-up? I thought you were getting the check-up? I don't need a check-up." Rein says with a voice that very much implies he hasn't had a check-up in years and is not up to date on his shots at all. Help nurse! He's at extreme risk for rabies.

You know, at 50%, HALO has one of the highest proportions of fox girls in the Nexus.

    "This way. To the library."
Honeysuckle is unable / not attentive enough to recognize the fakeness of the smile. She may not have noticed the smile at all.

She will escort Maria to the library. I expect it doesn't even have a librarian in it at the moment. You have to look through the catalog yourself.

"Used to have a lot more books. Seems like. Also the tree of knowledge?"
She's basing this on the empty shelves and tree planters.

"You want to join?" she asks, expecting that Maria will elaborate.

An hour or so before anyone else arrived at HALO

". . . wait I was supposed to do something." She mumbled to herself, pacing. "What was the thing?
    . . .
    OH YEAH!"
And then on the fluffiest of slippery socks, she sprinted off!
And slipped a few times, being cushioned from a hard landing only by virtue of just how floofy her tails are, and quick reactions to get them between her and the floor.
She makes it to the library fairly quickly, all things considered, and slapped a hand down on one of the empty shelves.
As she slapped one of the bookshelves, there was a blindingly bright, pink flash of light in the room, and every single book that had been missing reappears, at the exact same moment that her watch started beeping!
"There we go. Just in time." She mumbled, hitting a button on her watch, and silencing its alarm. "One second at a time." She nodded once, before pacing off quietly back into the darkness of the halls, back to the infirmary.

    Modern time again!

"Oh! Well, hello! I'm The Nurse!" The Nurse says with a happy smile, excited to be already making new friends! "And your costumes are lovely~!"

"Oooh. A checkup! Yes! We can definitely do that!
With . . . the checks. And the ups! Yes! Please, step this way!"
The Nurse says, taking a step back, her tails -- and my, there are a lot of them -- gently swaying behind her.

"Oh, I don't need check-ups. I go to a special doctor for that." Faith assures Rein. "But hey, she's offering a free one and it couldn't hurt to get one, right?" She continues as she follows along, expecting Reinholdt to do the same. I mean, look at him. He if anyone could use a medical experts attention.

"And thank you miss- er, ma'm." Faith stumbles on her words for a moment, feeling distracted by the sheer amount of tails in front of her. "Actually put in a lot of effort into this one. Not sure if anyone recognizes the character though, but perhaps that's for the best." She makes small talk while they walk, feeling out of place in this medical lab. She was sometimes considered a health hazard at hospitals by the staff, but she had got certificates that proved that she wasn't more of a health risk than any other person. Provided she kept the gloves on of course.

Even better. Maria can just study the foxgirls here. Though it never hurts to cross reference.

She reads pretty much the entire way to the library only looking up and around when they get there. "Still of a greater numerical quantity than my personal library." Maria fondly remembers the days when she had an entire wagon of books. Until lava happened. At GLoG no less. Sigh.

Satisfied enough with what she sees... Though she does briefly wonder about a long strand of pink fur caught between two books, Maria turns to Honeysuckle. "That would be an accurate statement. Are there prerequisite forms in need of completion?"

    [The Infirmary]

"It could hurt," Reinholdt claims. Though he doesn't know how. He's too used to Tobias' type of exams where he's pretty sure the fox hurt him intentionally to keep him in the office longer. Despite Rein's grumbles, he'll follow Nurse. Primarily because the tails are enticing. He just wants to grab them in his paws and bite the tips. As such, his following is very much a cat follow- move several steps quickly, then stop, repeat as necessary.

"Oh yeah. Who are you supposed to be anyways? I just presumed you were some generic rocker music girl." Reinholdt didn't know Faith was supposed to be someone specific!

"You have one? Your own library?" Honeysuckle asks, ears flicking up.
The girl clearly does love books. Can't drag her eyes away from whatever that one is.
"Yeah it's not bad. Plenty of- The ones you listen to- you know?"

At the other question she manages to laugh.
"Forms? Nah. Not like an office. Just talk to Fel or that cat."

She continues as she follows along, expecting Reinholdt to do the same.

"Yus! Free! Because HALO healthcare is aamaaaazing."

"Gosh, give me some credit!" The Nurse pouts slightly, one foot hitting the ground slightly harder than it otherwise might have. "I'm quite good at not hurting people when I give them check ups!

Now please sit on that bed."
She says, waving a hand at a cot, as she pulls a notepad out of . . . somewhere.

Faith looks for somewhere to take a seat, and if there is isn't any free chairs in sight she is content with just leaning against the wall.
"Sylvanas Windrunner, she's from this computer game series and pretty much the only female undead character I know that isn't a vampire or made to be completely hideous. Normally, she uses a bow but I was afraid people would assume I was an one of those fantasy adventurers or something if I carried around that so I replaced it all with rocker gear." Faith explains as she glances at her phone briefly. "Figured it would at least be original, and I refused to dress up as one of those undead stereotypes. I mean, haven't we had enough zombie-movies already? Geez."

"Well a personal library has a minimum book count of one so technically yes, but it isn't worth being impressed over. I should be well into triple digits by this juncture in time however." A good number of which were probably just 'forgotten' to be returned to whomever he borrowed them from. Maria's too broke to get much the normal way.

"Fel or Feline. Understood." Shouldn't be too hard to handle. "Do you have any particular genre preferences when it comes to literature? I can't guarantee I have any, but I could always contribute some of the tomes I have completed cross-checking to the library here to make more volumes available."

    [Infirmary]

"Yes, yes, of course, sorry." Reinholdt doesn't sound sorry at all! He's just grumbling. He does, however, hop up onto the table as requested.

"I can't say. I haven't seen any zombie movies. But any and all cautionary tales we can get about the undead, the better. If anything, there isn't enough zombie movies!" Not that Rein would ever watch any. He shudders at the thought.

"You a big fan of the undead? I've known one or two people like that." Neither of which he has any real positive things to say about. Faith has an uphill battle in that regards.

    "I. Um. Actually."
    Honeysuckle's tails droop a bit.
"I can't read. Keep meaning to. Never find the time."
She manages to look a little sheepish.

"I bet here we need more nonfiction. You can bring some of that?"

    Grace is also here!
Not much more to say, really.
She just got here, and is poking about in a lab, trying to find the place Rein said she could go to and the lab that would be set up for her.

Faith's mouth remains half-open as she blinks at the words that just came out of Rein's mouth. He wasn't that mean a drunk, which had to mean-
Saints above, this was awkward. He thought it all was part of her costume.

She'd love to nerd out with the nurse, but she was working and Faith better address the elephant that had suddenly entered the room as quickly as possible before Rein made it even larger.

"I'm no fan of them, no. A lot undead are mindless or plain monsters. But I'm not though and I'm clinically identified as a type of undead, hence why I go to a special clinic." Faith paused a moment. How far would she need to go here? Considering she was in a hospital she might as well do the whole routine. "And no, I'm not infectious, I have no ravenous urges or need for revenge beyond the grave. Any of my doctors can certify that." At this point, she was more talking to the nurse than Rein. It was tedious, but she knew hospitals had their rules and with her condition she had to obey them.

    [Surface Pods]

Comfy modes of transportation in a magically aquatic manner awaits Sophie up on the surface. They are pretty self operated. However, in front of them, Rein has added a buzzer along with a brief explanation that pressing it will alert them to the visitor's arrival and ensure someone is waiting to greet them at the Entrance!

It's an overly fancy doorbell that you ring before walking in anyways.

    [Lab]

Grace should be able to find her lab easily! A small plaque on the front door of her particular lab has her name on it in the shiniest letters Rein could find that didn't require electricity. Within is a clean and fully stocked chem lab! Well sorta fully stocked. The cat had as much brought in as he could of what he thought she'd need. Beakers, PPE, Pipets, etc. But only in so far as he knows science uses. No real specialty equipment. Anything she needs could certainly be arranged for, but he didn't really know what else to grab. Should he have grabbed a sonogram machine or a centrifuge? Maybe. Still, it has proper workbenches at least, with appropriate exhaust hoods where needed.

    [The Infirmary]

"Pfft. Rabies. They don't even have mundane illnesses in this world." There's an almost 100% chance he has something now that he said he doesn't. Reinholdt really should know better. The most mundane illness of all in the Nexus is dramatic irony. For example, a proper examination will reveal Rein has been suffering from Anemia.

His reflexes are still quite good though. Too good perhaps. He nearly baps the Nurse for that knee thing. Fortunately he pulls back at the last second.

He does blink in surprise, looking at Faith. "Y-You're undead?" Rein doesn't sound afraid or mad or anything. Just surprised. You can tell by the way his mouth hangs open saying Ahhhh. Faith really makes the Nurse's job easier like that. However, there's a distinct chance the cat has gone blind since the Nurse can't get his eyes to follow her finger.

    [Open House]

Maria looks flabbergasted and horrified, the way you might if your best friend suddenly kicked your puppy in front of ongoing traffic. It actually takes a moment for her to compose herself again.

"A-ah. Y-yes non-fiction only. Would you- would you like to learn?" She offers.

    "Are you quite alright?"
Even once recomposed, Maria's voice is a bit choppy. It's not that shocking, is it?
    Honeysuckle frowns a bit.

"Well, like I said, it'd be good to know." But Honeysuckle's been able to get people to read things for her, and how often is there an important thing that's only written down? It's not a huge priority.

The Nurse blinks a few times, almost as if she's surprised that Faith feels the need to defend herself. "Oh! Well. We could probably get what you need, if you would like a checkup too! We have plenty of resources, and it wouldn't be too much of a problem at all!"

The Nurse nods a few times, making some notes on a notepad.
Then with a happy little 'yay' she pokes at his tongue with a wooden Popsicle stick.
"Hmmmm. I think you need an ICYA." She says in her very professional tone, nodding a few times.
"Even if your eyes are quite lovely."

    Lab

"All right, all right, good, good," Grace murmurs, wandering around the lab. She was happy they didn't try to predict what sort of ingredients she would want/need, but was quite glad they had the hardware.
Well thought on their part, she figured with some nods.

Faith looks between the surprised nurse and the gaping Rein. Just great.
Usually, there was never an issue with her condition, but her teacher in public relations had been very insistent on always go for a better safe than sorry approach when it came to these things so that's what she was sticking with.

"Technically, a living corpse." As opposed to a incorporeal spirit, not that sounded much better. "But, yeah." She smiles at the two as to avoid making the situation more awkward than it already was. "But that can't be a problem. There must have been undead working here, considering that miss nurse could treat me too I mean."

"Ah-er-n-no, it's not I suppose." Honeysuckle may get the impression Maria is less observant than she is. That's what happens when you only read and never apply!

"There is a marked deficiency of braille literature. There needs to be a translator willing to apply the effort to transform one language to another. Perhaps I shall endeavor to make that my first project." It wouldn't be bad to have a source of income again while being helpful and getting to read. He'll need to learn the language first. "I shall pitch the idea to whichever personage I end up finding for membership."

    [The Infirmary]

"Ahl dun.." Rein gives up and waits until the nurse removes the popsicle stick, running his tongue along his teeth a few times to get the weird taste of wood out once she does. "Right, I was saying I don't believe we've had any undead members as far as I recall. We just have a highly trained Nurse that pays attention to how the Nexus works in general and is prepared for the more common 'edge' cases, as they were. If we were being honest, just walking down the street, one in twenty people you meet is probably a vampire." Reinholdt trails off for a moment. There was one vampire in particular. That one who stopped his robbery, one of the few who ever foiled him. She was...

Blinking, Rein shakes his head and looks to the Nurse. "Icy? What's that?"
