Re: Razorback's Strange Aeons - In Search of Sanity
Spoiler: Ebert
Nothing pinged on Detect Magic.
You recognize none of the people. The man to the north/right looks to be Ustalavian(sp?). The middle man is unrecognizable. The man to the south/left might be Ustalavian but his condition is emacitated and his skin has a jaundiced cast to it, though much worse than any he had heard or seen before, making it difficult to tell where he is from.
Spoiler: Hazel
Well she isn't 100% sure how sturdy the pipes are in the walls as they seem a bit... crumbly where they meet, the pipes and chains look well-maintained and rust free, more than enough to hold all of them fast. Hazel also realizes they all wear the same white outfit that your group were wearing when you came to downstairs.
At Hazels entrance, the two moving prisoners heads turn to watch, the northern one slowly while the southern prisoners head whips around quickly. The northern prisoner mumbles on, head going slack, while the southern one hungrily eyes the pair of you.

"Argade". the one to the left says again as is he retreats a bit, back nearly against the wall as the chains go slack. The prisoner to the right watches the group with unblinking eyes, occasionally looking down and mumbling something to himself before lifting his head back up.

The prisoner to the right, while looking at the group, seems almost oblivious to you once you stop moving. While his mouth seems to be trying to say different things but makes no sound, he only verblizes 3 things no matter what his lips do - “praise,” “words fail,” and “Zandalus sees!”.

Repulsed as she is by the captives' behavior, Elia can't help but be a little irritated too, and has half-a mind to drag these men downstairs to that witch of a doctor and shout, "This! This is what an actual crazy person looks like!"
Instead, she tries to keep her voice steady and nonthreatening — she thought she remembered doctors doing it that way, though she couldn't quite remember their names at the moment. "Who's Zandalus?" she asks. "Who's Argade?""My advice to you, my violent friend, is to seek out gold and sit on it."

Elia nods sadly. These creatures were horrible, but they were no threat right now, nor were they doppelgangers, apparently. Perhaps they could be helped once the hospital was returned to whatever passed for normal around here. She follows Ebert farther to the north.

Re: Razorback's Strange Aeons - In Search of Sanity
As the group head of the room, the sounds are muffled by the walls and distance, but you can still here the one prisoner yell out "ARGADE! ARGADE!".
Most of this area has collapsed into a heap of dense gray rubble. The occasional clattering pebble makes it sound as though the mound is not entirely settled, and more rubble could collapse at any moment. Zapka takes the lead and the half-orc, not to be outdone, is only a few steps behind. Each member maneuvers slowly through the debris, dead evident under the rubble and dismembered limbs can be seen, making it evident that there was a lot of traffic here when this part of the building collapsed. Elia coughs a bit as the air is thick with dust still.
Vadok, as he nears the doors, stops he turns and says "There is some noise I hear." as he points with his greatsword at the same moment Lizbeth turns toward the debris and says "I think someone is alive under the rubble." Everyone else stops, with some listening for sounds at the door or turning to look back where Lizbeth points, seeing if they can spot a survivor.
Spoiler
Sorry for the tiny image. Managing the layers ok-ish now have to try and figure out how to be consistent with the size.

Re: Razorback's Strange Aeons - In Search of Sanity
Ebert summons his eldritch power and sends its energy out. He focuses for a few moments but it doesn't provide any information back to him, but he does notice that some of the of the middling sized rubble towards the corner is moving as if someone is trapped underneath.
As Zapka moves forward, Vadok steps forward and calls out "Step out from your hiding hole or, by Gorum's bile, I'll quarter you and feed you to the ghoul down the hall!" with his sword out. A half a moment later, before the half-orc can scowl to finish off the effect, the wall itself collapses outward onto Vadok. The rest of the group is far enough away to avoid the damage but also notice that a trio of undead are standing there, obviously the culprits in the falling wall, rushing out once it is clear.

The image of the three chained patients clung to her mind even as they pressed on, distracting Elia enough that she didn’t see the wall topple — though the noise broke her reverie. Elia’s mouth has hung open in shock for much of this morning, but it’s a thin, hard line now. These were no tragic figures, or were-they-or-weren’t-they face-changing killers, but a clear threat. And though fear gnawed at her gut as she watched the crumpled Vadok, at least doubt had vanished, for now. She grips a small, ceramic bottle and hurls it at the middle creature.

Re: Razorback's Strange Aeons - In Search of Sanity
Hazel, seeing the creatures, yells out to her companions a warning as she moves in. The rough and uneven terrain from the collapsed wall causes her to misstep as she lunges and her rapier goes wide.
The ghoul she faces seems to be having the same issues as it flails as it steps on a loose stone, it's two claws and bite missing wildly.
The paralyzed Vadok is not so fortunate. Its first claw finds purchase and drops the warrior, though its other claw and bite both misses. It's hard to tell if the half-orc still lives.
The pair seem to have been human, with clothing like the other workers they had seen, but their faces are distorted beyond recognition, undeath warping them into a mockery of the living.

Re: Razorback's Strange Aeons - In Search of Sanity
Elia's flask flies true as it strikes the foul creature, its contents tearing apart the creature as it seems to melt before your eyes.
As the creature howls with all its fury, Hazel steps forward and runs it through its head, blade jutting out the far side. It struggles for a moment as its energy dwindles and it sags. With a tug, the dashing woman manages to draw the blade free of the skull, though its ichor and gore still cover its edge.
Seeing the creature fall, Lizbeth runs up and checks on Vadok but, from her slumped head, it's obvious he's gone. "He... they killed him. I was going to use what little magic I have left but it wouldn't have done any good." she says tearfully.
