He was raised by Damiyo Tadano Tanaka, the Damiyo who were usurped from the Damiyo of Fire status because he became crippled.
His father's personal petty venedeta became so much more when Odokuro have gathered the Sound Ninjas, and inspired by him, Tadano has raised Raizu to be a worthy Damiyo- he never slept on a soft matress.
"You have citzens who dont have a matress at all" he was told.
He was fed just as his servants were outside of holidays and special occasions.
He was tutored all day, and he even trained in basic taijutsu.
Raizu is under constant pressure, but he is proud of it. He was raised to believe, being noble it means you get it HARDER then others, and luxuries are just tools to serve the greater good.

Okay, Igor its simple, go with whatever plan you were going to go with, because we don't have any influence over those plans before the exams start, and when we do something you don't expect when they are actually going on, you improvise as best you can without introducing anything new/out of nowhere/nonsensical. don't try to force a specific end you want unless we all agree upon it, just let events play out as they logically should.

like I have something specific I want to do with Kimiko Pre-chunin exams but its more of "finisher attack" kind of thing and something I'm kind of just waiting an opportunity for when futility san and his minions attack. I can plan the moment, but I can't really plan how I'll get to that moment because the pathway to it could be influenced by so many factors outside my control. you can plan destinations, but you can't really plan the journey to them is something I've learned as planning the journey is railroady, but specific destinations happening when the characters just so happen to do a certain set of actions to activate the right conditions of their own choice? thats completely fair, as long as there is meaningful differences between those destinations and the players could in theory with proper investigation or information figure out which conditions to meet or avoid. improvisation comes in when there is a set of conditions you didn't plan for and have to figure out how events play out logically from those unexpected conditions.

A thing that Kimiko isn't taking into account is that while Senko has raw power, she has no formal ninja training and her martial arts style is meant primarily for meditative purposes rather than actual combat.

Senko has to use something roughly equivalent to a stage one curse seal to be the physical equivalent of a genin. I haven't always been good about making that clear in scenes.

It makes sense that Kimiko isn't taking that into account, but still.

@Igor: If you don't respond IC by Friday I'm going to move the scene forward to everyone setting up Camp for the night for a more proper conversation. I'll include a rough recap of what's going on if I need to, should be easy enough to get back into things.

Maeniko is a master thief, not just for the thrill of the challenge or the riches- though admittedly that is a big part of it- but for the vengeance she gets from taking the resources of those that rule the world, figuring if they take from others to get their happiness, why shouldn't she do so in return? She doesn't target the poor but neither does she help them out particularly, but she is open to donation jobs where she at least gets a cut. She sees the authorities as people to outwit and overcome.

Maeniko grew up in the Land of Haze. Her village Kasumigakure being a vassal state of Konohagakure, quickly caved into their demands for an ally to help them in war, sending away much of their shinobi and utilizing much of their industry to help fuel Fire's side of the war. As result, the Land of Haze's economy suffered and food started to become scarce. Maeniko's older brother Mikatsu being one of the shinobi left behind, was one of her heroes, even as a mysterious masked bandit began raiding various supply convoys to Iwa and defeating any ninja that came after them.

But this began to sour relations with the Land of Fire and Konoha. Soon Maeniko herself, after proving that she was a powerful shinobi, was sent out to fight this bandit and when she struck the killing blow-the disguise jutsu dispelled, revealing that it was her own older brother Mikatsu stealing the supplies. He had done so to give such supplies back to the people in defiance of Fire's sapping of their resources. When she went back to the village with this news, Kasumigakure denounced him to keep their friendship with Konohagakure and let the more powerful village keep siphoning men and resources from them. Distraught over causing her brothers death and being cheered for it, she resolved to get her revenge.

So during a battle where Iwa and Kumo were fighting Konoha and their allies, she pretended to follow the mission, until she got her chance to take a Yureigan eye from Iwa and a Tsurogan eye from Kumo, greedily taking them considering them all superpowers that deserve it, while also betraying the Konohagakure forces as her attack exposed an ambush that would let the battle end quickly but instead turned it into a long bloody one while she slipped away.

She became a rogue shinobi and found a medic-nin to implant the eyes into her but the debt was great and eyes now spent chakra just for looking at things. So she began carrying out heists to pay it off, taking the most valuable treasures of the shinobi nations while also learning how to wield her implanted eyes. Over time, she not only got out of debt but became wealthy from her illicit activities. To further fix her new chakra problems from having two implanted dojutsu, she stole one of the Eight Chains of Attachment, the Chain of Greed from another shinobi so that she may use it to drain chakra from others to keep her own replenished.

Now she steals for her own benefit, at first aiming to be rich but now doing it for the challenge and the thrills while seeing it as a form of revenge against those in power.

A contract to summon rogue shinobi that sell themselves out to be summoned to fight for people. They expect payment, often on a per-kill or per-job basis but can be negotiated as long as the pay is good. A high quality contract like this allows one to summon rogue shinobi with the more common kekkei genkai of the elemental nations.

Black Market: Yureigan and Tsurogan Implants: A-rank
Has stolen both a Tsurogan and a Yureigan eye and put them in her eye sockets to use their power. To save on chakra she hired a fuinjutsu expert to modify her Magpie mask that hides her identity so that it also suppress their power while its on using a seal so she can see without constantly expending chakra. Additionally, using these eyes abilities cost her more chakra than it would their natural born users.

Eye of Distortion:

The user sight can now switch to X-ray to see through walls and see peoples skeletal structures.

The user can see into the spiritual plane, able to see chakra, souls, as well the flow of yin energy.

The user can store and take out weapons and objects into a pocket dimension they have, but not people, due to chakra interference.

The user can open two small portals just enough to punch someone through them within a 50 feet distance.

The user makes a part of their body incorporeal to go through something, such as an arm or a leg. Can only do this for one body part at a time.

Places a seal on a tag on someone that makes them perceive as if she still in the same location waiting, often to fool people watching her, the tag slowly draining chakra from its surroundings to power the illusion for hours on end.

Places a genjutsu on someone to make them believe that something was never stolen and is still right there where they left it. Often accompanied with a carved wooden replacement in case they try touching it that the genjutsu fools them into thinking is the real deal.

Stolen Riches:
Maeniko has gotten wealthy from all the things she has stolen and has access to many black market goods not available to most, and can give out better bribes than most ninja. Has real headbands of every village to use for disguises, a mansion, various supplies and ninja tools for any heist she wants to do and other such luxuries.

Eight Chains of Attachment: The Chain of Greed
Maeniko owns one of the Eight Chains of Attachment, artifact fighting chains of legend with powers of chakra forged by one called the Demon Smith. The Chain of Greed when it lassos or wraps around a foe allows one to drain chakra to replenish their own supply or to delve into their mind for information to steal information from them. By putting in chakra into it, it can extend beyond its usual length for attacks or sprout multiple chain tendrils to grab at more than one thing.

Black Market: Elemental Tags: A-rank
through the black market has various elemental tags to throw that explode with spherical blasts of their elements, such as Wind, Lightning, Water, Fire and Earth.

Black Market: Chakra Pills, B-rank
These circular pellets normally only available in hidden villages, replenish someone's chakra reserves when eaten. Maeniko can have three of these prepared, to help when she fights her mask off without being able to drain anyone using the Chain of Greed.

Matsuto is highly interested in the mind and body works, seeing them as an interconnected machine that influences how each other work. She wishes to understand the human mind fully for humans to finally make sense to her. However betrayals in her past have made her highly distrustful of others and she'd rather mindwash people into obeying her than trust anyone to not stab her in the back again. This allows her to feel she is control and protected from the world around her, but is eroding away at her ability to accept no for answer as her mindwashed flunkies do everything she says without question.

Matsuto didn't start out as someone who could rewrite someone's mind into an assassin. She started as a child, who was simply interested in how brains work, yet didn't understand how people thought or was very socially adept. However throughout her life she has known betrayal. Matsuto in the academy delved into the principles of genjutsu and medical jutsu to tackle the problem of how people think from both ends. She uniquely became both a genjutsu specialist and a medic nin during the war and studied how people behaved but it didn't have all the answers. But thats where betrayal started: a fellow student pretended to be her friend then stole her work on a project to get a better grade. This damaged her trust in the people around her.

As a Genin during the Third Shinobi War, her team was sent to a minor nation to help the forces and citizens there. She healed anyone who asked for it but one of her patients when healed said that they had important information to show her about enemy forces leading her there...only to yell out “I've brought a Konoha imperial! Kill her!” she quickly ran from the ambush, her trust damaged again.

As a Chuunin a rash commander sent her team on a scouting mission only for it to turn out to be a distraction for the enemy forces, so that the main force can come from behind and kill the enemy. The commander didn't expect them to live through it, and was surprised when she was still alive. He took full credit for the battle's success, leaving out his lie and Matsuto experienced betrayal again.

As Jounin, her superiors in Konohagakure took interest in her studies and put her on a project and given unlimited funding. She was allowed to study, dissect and test out genjutsu however she wanted on people to figure out how people thought, what makes them tick as long as she produced a genjutsu that could permanently rewrite someone's mind. Such a weapon could be used to change the course of wars, nations- perhaps, even all of human history. Surely such a thing if used properly could win the Third Shinobi War. She however didn't care- she just wanted to see how the human mind ticked, how much it could be controlled and such. But then when her research was complete, her most trusted lab assistants, one whom she loved but couldn't work up the courage to ask out suddenly attacked her with a couple of shinobi backup and while she beat them, the assistant revealed that her superiors didn't trust her with the mindwashing jutsu that she created, saying that she might use it to control the leaders of her village.

Angry that her superiors didn't trust her and made her most trusted assistant betray her considering this the last straw, she left the village to become a rogue shinobi. She continued her experiments on human minds to try and understand its mysteries with every shinobi sent to stop her being captured and brainwashed by her into a willing servant, not taking any chances, she uses them as bodyguards to protect her. But over time she felt...lonely despite the loyal minions around her. So she developed a more subtle mindwashing jutsu, making it more subtle so that she can kidnap those she took fancy to and simply make them love her without completely destroying their mind and ability to make decisions on their own.

She tested it out a random village girl she fancied and when the mindwashing was done, the girl sat up, looked at her.....and thanked Matsuto for giving her this feeling of love. The girl was completely aware of what happened but didn't care that she did. Testing it out, she found that any clearly self-harmful commands or requests were rejected but the girl forgave her for them anyways and offered suggestions of how to do something better, but from genjutsu testing showed she was willing to sacrifice her life if she thought Matsuto was in true danger. Another unexpected side effect was the girl telling her to eat healthier and trying to get her to care for herself, which Matsuto accepted. The girl would insist on romantic outings that she wanted to spend with her and get a bit angry if she ignored her desires. She was creeped out because she recognized the underlying artifice of it all...but it still felt good to be cared for. Was this what it felt to be loved?

She decided she liked this feeling, even if made things a bit more complicated. So Matsuto captured the next Jounin sent after her and mindwashed her the same way and others after that, figuring she could build a little harem of people that she can rely on for companionship and a group of flunkies to be her servants, knowing that they won't betray her like last time. All the while she works towards full understanding of the human mind. Perhaps if she breaks enough, she can, by process of elimination figure out how to manipulate the mind without breaking it, and thus achieve true interaction with other humans. The scientific method at work!

While some nations seek to capture her to get her jutsu, just as many ironically stop people from trying to do so, as they don't want her jutsu being used on a wider scale, as well as to try and keep people from brainwashed by her to make her forces grow.

Neurosurgeon of Forbidden Knowledge:
Matsuto is a neurosurgical genius, and through her forbidden dark experiments on the human mind with both medical and genjutsu knows more about the brain works than anyone.

Chakra Scalpel: A-rank
Matsuto is highly skilled in using a chakra scalpel to slice at tendons to impede someone's movements, or just actually slice people open.

Yin Healing Wound Destruction: A-rank
Matsuto predicts and prepares to heal someplace before the foe even strikes, effectively minimizing the damage dealt. It can't help with fatal blows however.

Genjutsu: Was Never There: A-rank
Matsuto uses a genjutsu to fool people where they are, evading their attack. Can be used up to 5 times.

Earth Release: Stone Bindings, B-rank
Attempts to grab and bind the victim to the ground on their back using thick stone bindings from the earth to make them vulnerable to either being killed or mindwashed.

Genjutsu Expert: A-rank
Is skilled in using general short term genjutsu to fool with peoples senses and manipulate them to her will, with a wide variety of techniques.

Sleeper Assassin Implant Genjutsu: A-Rank
A genjutsu that turns someone else into a secret assassin in their subconscious, granting them experience, Taijutsu ability and a killing intent they did not before possess, and are programmed to seek out specific target and kill them as a disposable assassin. Takes time to pull off, its something that one has to be held down and takes at least a few minutes to a few hours depending, given its complexity. It takes less time to deprogram someone of this genjutsu, but even cured the victim is forever changed by the experience.

Loyal Lover Rewrite Jutsu: A-Rank
A genjutsu she created to turn someone who her loyal happy lover permanently, not only casting a genjutsu on them but subtly altering the wrinkles in their brain itself using medical jutsu to fit the genjutsu's alterations. Takes hours to a day to complete through concentration and the victim must be bound and helpless. The effects are permanent, and while a victim can in time be saved, it requires long periods of therapy and deprogramming to return to a normal mindset with no instant way to snap them out of it.

Loyalty-Ensuring Mindbreaker Jutsu: A-rank
A forbidden jutsu invented by Matsuto Tsukichi, it allows her to use genjutsu to thoroughly brainwash someone bound and helpless over hours to a day until the victim is broken and completely loyal like a soldier to her, becoming completely willing and happy to carry out any and all orders to please their new master, having become their new reason for existence. The effects are permanent, and while a victim can in time be saved, it requires long periods of therapy and deprogramming to return to a normal mindset with no instant way to snap them out of it.

Summon Brainwashed Chunin: B-rank
Summons a bunch of generic brainwashed chuunin who serve as her loyal soldiers and vassals, following every order they are given to the letter and willing to die for her. They have B-ranks in most of their stats except Genjutsu Defense, which is instead D-rank due to their broken minds.

Brainwashed Jonin Lovers: A-rank
Matsuto has brainwashed women she has taken particular favor for into being her lovers. While they obey her, the nature of their brainwashing is more love than loyalty, and thus are capable of doing things for their “love” for her on their own initiative that Matsuto herself did not order. This makes them more useful in some ways but potentially detrimental in others. Their Genjutsu Defense however is B-rank due to their decision-making being more intact.

Miyashin is an incredibly determined and utilitarian individual. He believes in working towards the greater good of the entire planet and the moon and views any individual lives lost compared to all life being lost to the Otsusuki as acceptable. He is calm and rational, and while he feels some guilt over the deaths he causes he feels his humanity is less important than the world, seeing it as another sacrifice.

Miyashin grew up in the Nishina Branch Clan of the Moon Otsutsuki, also known as the Neutralists, that dedicated themselves to guarding and keep Kaguya contained at all costs. His mother, a medic nin once euthanized a patient so she can save others, telling him that while she didn't like it, that man was beyond saving and she needed to do the greatest good for the greatest number. He understood the lesson, and rose far in this duty and became one of their greatest seal masters. But while he believed in his vigil, he was also curious. He wanted to learn more, as the more they can learn about Kaguya, the more prepared they could be if she ever returned. Thus one day he went forth on an expedition to investigate certain ruins that Kaguya left behind.

On that expedition he found that a masked figure was investigating the ruins as well. He thought he could keep hidden but the stranger captured him and somehow figured out his origins. He had given away the secret of the Moon Clan's existence to the world below, but the masked figure was willing to keep the secret in return for Miyashin helping them out and letting them be able to learn what is in the ruins. Miyashin acceded to this. In the ruins they found an old journal written by Kaguya herself explaining her motivations as she decided to conquer the world and try to absorb all chakra. In this journal she explains the immortality of the Otsutsuki clan through the Kama, their strength and parasitic nature, how she ambushed Isshiki and how she would need all the power she could to defeat the others, that humanity was doomed to die in the battle that would ensue anyway- at least with the Infinite Tsukuyomi she could ensure their end was a peaceful happy one and that she would be able to go forth and save whatever other species the Otsutsuki were siphoning chakra from when she took enough power for herself, then when she attained true godhood she could resurrect all of humanity.

This changed everything, the masked figure and Miyashin conversed with each other and eventually came to the decision that if Kaguya was right about how powerful they were, there was no being on this planet that could defeat them- and that they would figure out a way to do so to defend the world. Miyashin didn't know who this masked figure was or what their goal is, but any human with ties to Earth would be better than letting the Otsutsuki win. So they agreed: the figure would attempt to find what remains of Isshiki if anything while Miyashin would attempt to find a way to control Kaguya, so that they could use what Otsutsuki were already on Earth as weapons to defend against the Otsutsuki to come.

Miyashin therefore took an interest in Kama. A small computer that a Celestial could implant on someone to resurrect themselves mentioned in the journal. There was no reason why Kaguya wouldn't have one. So in secret he went to the seal containing Kaguya in the moon and used a forbidden jutsu to communicate with Kaguya Otsutsuki herself. He manipulated and deceived her, telling her that he was loyal to Kaguya and her magnificence and saw the beauty of her plan and that he was a willing servant to her desires. It worked and she told him the secrets of the Kama in exchange for his service. Thus he developed a way for Kaguya to place Kama on people without leaving her seal, and thanks to her information he also developed a seal to contain and limit its effects in theory. If this seal worked he could control Kaguya or the vessel of Kaguya so that she would go out of control, or at least slow down the extraction process so that he could develop a better one. But that was only his plan for a black Kama, he didn't want mess with the process too much because if someone became a failed vessel and thus got a white kama, that would be even better: because no matter how difficult a human would be to control it would still in theory be a human attached to planet Earth and their life on it and thus be more inclined to defend Earth no matter how much an Otsutsuki they became.

He now works to find a suitable vessel for Kaguya Otsutsuki that he can control, or better a failed vessel for her that he can more safely teach to be a tool for Earth and Moon's defense. He knows that what he does is a betrayal of his clan's duty but he has accepted it as he has a higher mission now. He grows more desperate with each dead body however from trying to find even a single success on either front and now tries to gain information on why they weren't compatible so as to try and minimize the risks with each attempt and hopefully perhaps even figure how to manipulate the odds so that a White Kama is intentionally produced.

But Kaguya may be more wily than she seems...

the problem of course is never whether to move or not-igor has told us before that he is okay with that-but how long should we wait before making that call.

I'm going to drop a worldbuilding writeup thats been a long time coming and I really like for how detailed I've made it:

Spoiler: On The Kiri Rebels

Show

Known as the Kiri Rebels, the Anti-Yagurist Faction or the Kirigakure Resistance the Kiri Rebels despite its name is an eclectic force of many people opposing Yagura and his regime for one reason or another, including many minor villages he has conquered, mercenaries and others. However at its core and its origin is the remnants of Kirigakure's noble clans using kekkei genkai displaced from their manors and positions of power, now forced to fight an asymmetric guerrilla war against his greater resources and manpower and are technically a counter-revolutionary faction. Their goal is a restoration of the old Kirigakure power structure of Daimyo and Mizukage with the noble clans once again at the top- on paper at least. Though whether that is what will happen is not certain.

Kenzou Hoshigaki the leader of the Rebels and wielder of the Samehada is the rebellion's sole light of hope. With such a blade he is able to match a Jinchuuriki's power in combat, and his own skills are equal of a kage. But he knows that without a way to seal the Three-Tail Beast and the Six-Tailed Slug's Jinchuuriki being missing, taking back Kirigakure would leave the old restored government weak and vulnerable to being conquered by other nations just waiting to swoop in like vultures to take advantage of the situation to alter the balance of power in the shinobi nations. He constantly sends messages negotiating with the Ishikawa Clan, now of sound Village to return with their promised genius fuinjutsu specialist capable of sealing away the Three Tailed Beast, pushing them to bring them as fast as possible to end Yagura's tyranny once and for all and make a new jinchuuriki to protect Kirigakure from its enemies.

However the Kiri Rebels are not heroes. While Yagura's regime is oppressive, the hands of those resisting him are not clean. Many of the old nobility of Kiri fought one another for power and control before Yagura united them against him, many old traditions are bloody and inhumane to most people today, and the rebels have had to steal and plunder supplies from anyone they can take from to survive, being essentially pirates and bandits for a greater cause. Their tactics may bankrupt the very nation they want to save, and Yagura uses the Kiri Rebels as a terrifying scapegoat for all the problems the Land of Water faces to distract people from his own oppression.

One can only hope that from these troubled waters, true heroes can arise. All that Kiri Rebels know is that war is hell, no matter how good their cause.

Spoiler: Dying Traditions:

Soldiers destroy old shrines, Yagura's shinobi kill those who remember the days before him, and old texts of the days before his revolution are either burned or revised to make the older regime look bad as possible. Noble Clans abandon old homes and rituals that they have no time for and fail to observe more and more celebrations they once followed to the letter. The idea of genin killing one another to prove they can be weapons has been thrown out entirely as they need all the hands they can get just to survive and they might as well earn their killer instinct with the enemies blood. Samurai no longer test their blades sharpness on commoners. The more the war goes on, the more it seems the old traditions of Kirigakure are dying- if they aren't already dead.

The clan leaders still speak of reclaiming Kirigakure's old glory and reinstating their old way of doing things, but increasingly it looks more and more like lip service to keep morale up and paint a picture of a romanticized time now gone than speaking from actual history. Indeed, the clan leaders are not stupid- they make decisions out of pragmatism first, their old traditions being an ideal they wish to see someday, not a reality they can reinforce while fighting the weaker side of a war. They try to find opportunities to teach the younger ninja the value of what they're fighting for, a taste of what Kirigakure once was, but find these opportunities growing rarer and rarer as Yagura's grip tightens and his forces hunt them down.

Some clan leaders hold out hope that when they retake Kirigakure from Yagura that they will be able to keep the lands that he conquered so as to bolster their strength against their other enemies. But Kenzou to secure the cooperation of the remnants of many minor villages now apart of the rebels, has already promised to pull out Water forces from them or help liberate these nations from any remaining warlords when Yagura is dead. Kenzou instead hopes to make sure that the restored regime can work out continuing alliances between them so that they can work together to fight off Konoha or Kumo trying to make a move on them.

But not all dying traditions are from Kirigakure. Many minor island nations now only preserve their old ways in books they keep secret, or if they're passed on orally struggle to each their apprentices their ways when displaced from the homes they are meant to be practiced in. Yagura's war machine destroys anything in its path good and bad, relentlessly pushing forward a path of fascism and conquest. From the ocean-navigating traditions without maps or tools of the Land of Spice, to the culture of Land of Jungles or the elephant-summoning of the Land of Tusks, to the Land of Coasts belief in Kamigami No Tasogare where at the end of the kalpa they will go to their gods to fight the final battle of the age against oni, all are in danger of being wiped out by relentless conquest.

Spoiler: Clanless Rebels:

Not all of Kirigakure who rebel against Yagura are noble clans with bloodlines. There are clanless without a bloodline who fight for the resistance as well, either because they disagree with Yagura's methods, or because they believe that hard work to prove they can be just as good as kekkei genkai users is pointless without such users around to compare to, or because they are from a nation without many kekkei genkai and thus oppose him simply because he conquered them. Many of such members are recruited from people who were wronged by Yagura's regime or seeking revenge for a family member that was killed by Yagura's forces, often from civilian backgrounds and seeking out the rebellion to learn ninjutsu, bringing in people who'd never normally have the opportunity to become a ninja.

Of course, due to them being clanless they are the perfect people to be spies and double agents- for both sides. This engenders mistrust among the rebellion and thus the clanless cells are separated from the kekkei genkai cells to protect the true targets of Yagura's regime from being spied upon by any agents pretending to change sides most of the time. Clanless cells are considered more expendable and replaceable by the leaders of the rebellion, as they can find new clanless people and train them up in ninjutsu, but they can't replace or train kekkei genkai. The older leaders of these cells see the old habits of the Bloody Mist repeat with these tactics of treating the lower classes as grunts and try to work to correct these habits and suggest alternate courses of action to keep their comrades alive. More and more the rebels make mixed cells from the remnants of ones destroyed just to keep them operational and accept the risk of losing kekkei genkai shinobi.

On the other side of things, some of the dedicated and brave members of the rebellion are those clanless who willingly play the role of double agent or spy within Yagura's regime to inform the resistance, sabotage Yagura's efforts or work to get close enough to the higher ups to engineer their downfall. They know that any slip up could result in Yagura's Anbu taking them to secret rooms, interrogating and torturing them until they confess, or the shinobi around them attacking them out of suspicion. Furthermore they must keep to their convictions while being surrounded by an ideology that champions the clanless over those with kekkei genkai and thus are safe if the rebellion dies. Weak willed ones might go native or be tempted to abandon the resistance out of fear and thus such jobs are entrusted to only the most determined and loyal of individuals in the resistance.

Spoiler: Children of Guerrillas:

The newer generation of the Kiri Rebellion are child soldiers, being taught since birth to fight and hate Yagura. The people teaching them have little if any time to be parents in the middle of being soldiers and captains with death always around the corner. Their training is sped up and harsh, skipping over more basic techniques intended to easier to go straight to ones that can actually keep them alive. The trainees are kept in secret bases and isolated training areas that are kept top secret to most members of the resistance- since birth. Any woman of the rebellion discovered to be pregnant are required to be escorted to these secret areas to keep their child safe so that they may be raised to be a weapon to fight Yagura.

These mothers if they are clanless, they only stay long enough to give birth to their child, name them then leave with a genjutsu placed upon themselves to make them forget the location if they are captured. The resistance has specialists to teach them the jutsu they need much more efficiently than anyone else, and the mother has a job to continue fighting Yagura's regime. If the child is lucky, they will one day meet their mother again. If the child however has a kekkei genkai, the mother is required to stay to teach them its use unless they themselves do not have it, until they have mastered it enough. If they don't, the father or a clan member who can use it instead are taken to train them. How long this training in a kekkei genkais use can vary but the rebellion emphasizes speed, efficiency and producing a soldier that can work for their purposes over any personal needs the child might have and frowns upon their parents dragging the training time out to spend more time with their child. If the rebellion finds a child with a unique bloodline with no parent to teach them they are thrown into the clanless training areas to be taught universal skills that will help regardless of what they have and hope that they figure out their bloodline themselves.

This inequality of training needs can produce clanless rebels who are jealous of those who have had actual mothers be there to teach and care for them, and thus the areas for clanless and kekkei genkai youths are kept separate- no need to let Yagura's ideology take root in the youth by showing them what they can't have.

When their training is over, they are sent into a war without hesitation for a cause they barely understand, against an enemy they've never seen, to fight for a Kirigakure that no longer exists. The war and the rebellions methods is all they've been taught and all they know. To them, hating Yagura and his followers is natural as breathing, being taught that they are pure evil without really knowing why. They consider killing the enemy a normal fact of life, non-notable or even celebrated as one less Yagurist to deal with. They get sent to reinforce and work with a cells and fight alongside genin comrades from various nations and backgrounds. Most of these children are born out of wedlock, as marriage is considered a luxury and furthermore many children would be considered bastards from the intermixing of clan and clanless in mixed cells, or foreign from being born from two parents of two different nations if anyone cared. To these genin, this intermixing is normal and accepted fact of their existence. They become close comrades and brothers in arms from fighting alongside each other, and as teenagers have impulsive love affairs that in turn produce more children to repeat the cycle over again, not knowing when their next battle will be their last.

The idea of any of their comrades being enemies or different from them is foreign this new generation and indeed due to the way they're raised they have little idea of the nations they are supposedly from, some having never seen the lands and homes they are supposedly fighting for. Most of them care more about the friends they know and fight with than any national identity their leaders talk about. Those that do recognize or care about such cultural and national identity know they must sweep such concerns to the side against the foe they are fighting but wish to preserve and recover a lineage and heritage they know little about. Complicating the matter is that many of them are born of two nations or different backgrounds and thus if they know their history, finding themselves having to reconcile being the child of two nations that normally hate each other, or two clans that normally don't mix, or from being born from a clan and clanless union, things like that, knowing if the circumstances were different they would've never been born. They find like-minded people in similar situations and bond over it, lamenting that if they succeed in defeating Yagura their friendship may be ended as they are split up to go to different villages...if they succeed at all.

If anything the situation of this next generation proves that one way or another that Kirigakure and the minor nations surrounding it will never be the same ever again. One day they might grow up and have to inherit either the cause or the village itself and their values and perspective are very different from those that came before. Indeed, many of them would see little value in reinstating any tradition that culls their own numbers or dividing themselves along national or class identity lines they consider arbitrary or nonsensical.

Spoiler: Rebelling For Profit:

Some of the rebellion fight for less selfless reasons. The Rebellion hires any rogue shinobi mercenaries they can, seeing them as an opportunity to expend someone that are not their own troops. To these mercenaries the Kiri Civil War is just another war of many and no more important than any other, seeing only opportunity to ply their trade. In particular the Kiri Rebels try to seek out rogue shinobi mercenaries with kekkei genkai not only to make sure they are guaranteed to not turn to Yagura's side, but also to use as genetic donors to contribute more permanent members to the cause in the form of their children. Some mercenaries only take the latter option and the Kiri rebel's money seeing it as a way to make money off pleasure they normally pay someone else to get, not caring for the children they sire.

Mercenaries who fight for the rebels however find themselves in a negotiating tug of war with its leaders, who insist on paying them after the job is done while the mercenaries want payment up front. The inherent risk of fighting in such a war makes the Kiri Rebel leadership want to save money by throwing the mercenaries into dangerous situations so that they don't have to pay them because they'd be dead and their purpose served, while the mercenaries want it up front so they aren't being screwed, but some mercenaries are scummy enough to just take the money and run instead of risking their lives. The result is that they default to paying only 30-40% up front while keeping the other 60-70% of the pay for when they finish the job. Particularly trustworthy and reliable mercenaries may bargain up to being paid half up front.

Mercenaries considered particularly untrustworthy are clanless ones, as often their only loyalty is money and Yagura could outbid them or hire them to trick the rebellion. Thus when they do need to hire them they do with very little trust or information about what they're really doing being given to them. The job is disguised and dressed up to seem unrelated to the rebellion at all, the mercenaries employer presenting themselves as not a ninja making it seem they have other reasons to want them to do this or that. While carrying risks about the mercenary being tricked or manipulated, they consider this more ideal than potentially letting them know the location of a rebel member if Yagura outbids them anyway.

Other people they have business dealings with are companies. Some companies fearing their shipments being stolen, do business with the Resistance to at least make a profit off giving them the weapons and supplies they need. Other companies double deal with both Yagura and the Kiri Rebels, profiting off both sides of the conflict. Some companies believing that Yagura to be an illegitimate ruler simply deals with the Kiri Rebels considering them the real Kirigakure after killed the daimyo. As long as they have the money, business can be done.

Spoiler: Who Funds the Resistance?:

A good question. There are a lot of people in the shinobi nations with good reasons to oppose Yagura indirectly or continue the Kiri Civil War. There could be any number of people making sure money is funneled to them. However the Kiri Rebel leadership keeps where the money is coming from top secret. If anyone found out, it could be a scandal in another nation at best and cause them to pull the funding for what many civilians would consider terrorists, and at worst make them a target of Yagura's wrath and cause for an expansion of this into the Fourth Shinobi War. Here are a few possibilities of who sponsors the Resistance:

Konoha and/or Kumo:
Both of these villages have reason to keep Kirigakure weakened and Yagura fighting his own civil war rather than turning his gaze outwards to them.

The Coliseum:
Ironically the Coliseum where many kekkei genkai rogue shinobi slaves fight for rich peoples amusement may be funding the Kiri Rebels fight for freedom, as the wealthy there fear that if Yagura finds them he will butcher them all along with the slaves they order to fight.

Land of Hot Water:
While not particularly militarily powerful, Hot Water is very wealthy and doesn't want Yagura coming to conquer them as a buffer nation between them and Konoha, which may be reason enough to fund the Resistance.

Civil Rights Charity Groups:
There might be ordinary citizens who simply consider what Yagura is doing to be genocide and funds the Resistance to oppose him while trying to convince the Kiri Rebels to change their ways for the better.

Ninshuuists:
While not liking war in general, Ninshuuists may fund the Kiri Rebels out of similar beliefs against genocide as well as considering his cause to be nothing but vengeance and hatred which Ninshuuism preaches against.

The Yakuza:
Some Kiri Rogue Shinobi, scattered across the nations may have taken over some yakuza outfits and now fund the Rebels to support their fellow Kiri-Nin while living in relative comfort.

Eccentric Billionaires:
Who knows why these guys do anything? Though at the same time they might be funding them because of Yagura's anti-rich sentiments.

Land of Jewels Bank:
The Kiri Rebels are still technically considered the legitimate Kirigakure government and thus can take out loans of the banks in the Land of Jewels under its authority to pay for the war effort. The debt from doing so may become a problem however.

Spoiler: Ronin of the Resistance:

Ronin who are not mercenaries and dedicate themselves to the Kiri Rebels, find themselves of lower value much like clanless shinobi. Unlike them, their talents lie the most in direct fighting and thus their cells are sent on the most direct and violent of missions: to raise armies and cause chaos in direct assaults. They are mainly used to rally together and train ashigaru equivalent soldiers. Any ashigaru who survive long enough, who are favored by the Ronin are trained to become ronin for the resistance themselves.

Their attacks come out of nowhere with huge mobs, they break prisoners out of jail and arm them, with stirring passionate speeches they unite and direct their untrained troops to fight and die for a bid at freedom from Yagura's rule. In many ways these Ronin are considered the clearest face of the Kiri Rebels and the most noble of their cause. While shinobi skulk in the shadows they fight tyranny head on with bravery and die with no regrets saving others. While shinobi scheme and strategize, they inspire and lead from the front to provide hope to the people they fight for.

Some of them of course feel doubt about arming citizens to become militia and convincing them to drop everything to fight and die, wishing they could protect them all themselves. Some are ronin from other nations seeing this as a form of redemption for what made them ronin in the first place. Some ronin who were around in Old Kirigakure see Yagura as an usurper who killed their rightful Daimyo and still hold their loyalty to them, wishing to kill him in retribution.

Children of such ronin are not given special treatment; they are sent to be trained to be shinobi like all other clanless children. This is because shinobi are considered more valuable than ronin in terms of what they can do for similar amounts of training time. Some ronin curse the fact that their children will not know them, while other see it as giving them a better education than they can provide. They continue fighting on for their children, valiantly regardless. If they ever meet each other it'll probably in a clanless cell base where the interaction can be varied. Some might wish to learn some kenjutsu to round out their fighting style, some might find themselves disagreeing with their parents tactics, others just reaffirm their shared commitment to the rebellion.

Of particular note are the Ronin who lived through Yagura's initial takeover. These ronin remember the samurai who turned against their comrades in arms to attain higher positions under him than they would in Old Kirigakure, and their hearts burn with a fiery vengeance to kill them specifically, for such samurai betrayed their daimyo by doing so, dishonoring themselves as traitorous dogs to their rightful lord. These ronin call such samurai the true ronin and insist they are the loyal samurai of the late Daimyo of Water simply seeking to carry out the rightful punishment for turning against one's daimyo.

Spoiler: The Science of Rebellion:

The Resistance is not a organization stuck in the past despite its cause. Yagura is pouring research into technologies to replace kekkei genkai, so they work to research science and technologies to keep up with their own methods. They work on ways to clone the growth of people with bloodlines, and design children to accelerate their ability to learn and develop chakra. They work on drugs to enhance their ninjutsu, or better ways to heal without needing a medic nin. Their spies work to steal plans of Yagurist technologies so they can use them as well or at least figure out countermeasures. They work to figure out how to optimize their bloodlines to their utmost, and various other projects- anything to fight back against Yagura.

However research in such a state is not ideal. The labs are in danger of getting raided, their research stolen or destroyed. They must be hidden and relocated as a result, and volunteers are in short supply as most rebels are busy serving in other ways with little time to be guinea pigs for creepy science experiments. Thus such roles often fall upon captured bandits who aren't apart of the resistance, criminals of the worst deeds that no one can tolerate, captured Yagurist loyalists who have given up all the information that they are willing, injured rebels who can't serve in any other capacity and thus volunteer for it, people of that nature. Funding for their experiments is also a concern as the Resistance can't always pay for the tools they need and must find other ways to make money on the side, such as mercenary work. Some rebel researchers just outright steal the money from whoever they feel is deserving.

Such research puts results before ethics. The Yagurists will do nothing less, so they have to respond in kind. Experiments to give people multiple bloodlines, ways to make new super-shinobi with enhanced abilities, weapons to take out a lot of the enemy at once and other things of the nature abound. Some develop higher grade explosives, or methods of communicating across vast differences without Yagura noticing. Another bio-engineering project is trying to create shinobi capable of surviving and regenerating from various attacks as well as super strength, to create juggernauts who with some taijutsu training could be demons on the battlefield capable of going through more of the enemy and soaking up more damage to distract from other members of the rebels efforts.

One of the top researchers is Suzume Yuki, whose main goal is learn all jutsu and thus unlock the full power of bloodlines. She contributes to the Resistance by running projects on cloning people with kekkei genkai to boost their numbers, figuring out a method to grant people kekkei genkai, and altering people with genetics and bio-engineering in general. The concept of giving people kekkei genkai worry the older generation of shinobi of what will happen when power is shared when people start getting “false bloodlines”, while the younger generation of rebels see it as just another weapon against the enemy, anything to make them more unpredictable and to spit in Yagura's face right? However others in the rebellion are nervous about Suzume for other reasons, seeing her extract jutsu from the frozen corpses of Yagurists to add to her repertoire and fearing that she may hunger for more exotic bodies to get jutsu from in the resistance itself.

Other scientists, giving up on the Ishikawas ever fulfilling their promise, work on trying to reinvent the tailed beast seal so that they don't need them to win against Yagura. Their efforts haven't been successful so far. The amount of energy needing to contained is massive and needs careful work to all be captured and not leak out. It doesn't help that they have no specimens to truly test their attempts out on, only paper, theorizing and arguing. There have been a couple instances where such scientists make something they think will work and particular cell or other, wanting to end the war quickly acted on their own to attempt an assassination on Yagura and capture of the tailed beast but these attempts ended in failure and disaster. Kenzou will not approve of any attempt to move on Yagura's life until they sure the capturing will work. To that end, some cells of the Kiri Rebels now plan heists to steal tailed beast sealing knowledge from one of the other great shinobi villages to make sure they can move on Yagura- and to say that the thought of taking the knowledge from the Ishikawas themselves never crossed their mind? Would be lie. Another possible idea they might have is to deceive other villages to think that the Yagurists stole their tailed beast seals to provoke some other nation to war to open up a new front in the war.

Spoiler: Kiri Rebels, The Yagurist Perspective:

Of course from the viewpoint of the ninja living under Yagura, the Kiri Rebels look like terrorists trying to reinstate tyranny. To the various shinobi that Yagura's ideology indoctrinates, they teach that the Kiri Rebels are remnants of insane decadent nobles who slaughtered the lower classes for their own arbitrary pleasures and seek only to destroy their revolution for sake of their own power and greed. Demonizing them into beings that are corrupted by their bloodlines into considering themselves superior, who are destroying the revolutions way of life out of mere spite and revenge because they cannot exist in a better world. It teaches that they deserve only death, along with all those who follow them. They refer to the Kiri Rebels as “The Old Regime”, and they are used as scapegoats for peoples problems and a justification for Yagura's continuing militarism, oppressiveness and expansionism in propaganda.

The Yagurists in general find themselves stymied by the rebels constant efforts to fight. Their expansionist agenda has been slowed down because of them and they find they can't stretch themselves too thin without first dealing with their internal problems at home. Back when it was only the Kiri remnants the fighting was easier but now that their numbers have been bolstered by the remnants of various other minor villages, the Old Regime is now taking up their time, delaying their plans for continued expansion and messing with their supply chains that is so vital to them without the economic bridges that Old Kirigakure had.

While new shinobi are taught that clanless shinobi are brainwashed into being pawns for the The Old Regime, such genin still find themselves surprised when they fight clanless on the rebels side who proclaim to do so of their own free will. To such young idealists of Yagura's revolution they sometimes try to redeem such clanless, and free them from what they consider the tyranny of the Old Regime, trying to convince them that true freedom is living free from the clans of kekkei genkai users. They inevitably fail and find themselves hardening their hearts into hatred for anyone who isn't loyal to Yagura and Kirigakure.

The civilians living under Yagura don't really know or care much about either side- they are just afraid. One group of shinobi is as bad as the next. Old civilians who have seen the injustices of both regimes know that things haven't gotten better, only different. Some younger civilians are either seduced by propaganda posters into becoming ashigaru to spread “Yagura's enlightenment” to the world, become curious about other viewpoints and wind up looking at illegal kiri rebel manifestos and either getting arrested or falling in with the Resistance entirely. But most simply live in fear and endure, hoping that these dark times will pass or that something will come along to deal all this for them without much of an idea of what to do about it themselves, seeing themselves as weak and unable to defeat shinobi.

Of course, the higher ups of the Yagurists know of the Ishikawas and the importance of the tailed beast seal. They don't know where the Ishikawas have gone, but the fact that the Rebels haven't made a truly aggressive push to try and kill Yagura and seal the Three-Tails with all their might in twelve years tells them that the Old Regime doesn't have the capability to do so. It gives them confidence to win but as time goes by Yagura and the higher ups begin to invest more in hunter nin to search for the Ishikawas and the Six-Tailed slug Jinchuuriki. If they can get the tailed beast sealing knowledge back to them and deny it to the Old Regime, they can ensure a successor to Yagura so that his ideas can live on and decisively wipe them out, while the search for the six tails is simply a matter of finding them before the rebels do- if the Six tails joins the Rebels side, it would be enough power to overthrow Yagura and ensure a rebel victory while providing a jinchuuriki to replace them while the three tails is unavailable. While the Yagurists having the six tails could at least deny the rebels their victory and possibly even manipulate the jinchuuriki to wipe out the Old Regime for them.
They of course are also entertaining plans to just steal sealing knowledge from other great shinobi nations and deceive them into thinking the rebels did it-its not as if they hold any love for other villages anyways they're all kekkei genkai lovers to them, worthy only of death.

Most worrying however is that the Old Regime's efforts to fight back are targeting them economically, consistently taking out their supply lines, taking shipments of whatever goods they can, making it as expensive to pursue them as possible, targeting resource rich places like mines to cut the Yagurists off from needed ore, stealing or destroying crops and food, and so on. If this continues on, the Land of Water may go bankrupt from the constant fighting as well as experience other resource shortages, making them unable to fight against other nations and continue their conquest so that they may spread the Yagurist ideology to all the world. The Yagurists wish to see this protracted conflict come to a swift end so that they may get back on their proper course. They search for important rebel bases so that they may destroy the Old Regime and allow the Land of Water to economically recover for a few years before they begin their next conquest.

Spoiler: Third Parties: Vultures Lying in Wait

Of course the Rebels and the Yagurists are not the only factions in this conflict- just the most important ones. It is a sure bet that Konoha and Kumo have spies observing the course of the war, and will try to report back to their respective villages to let them know when its time to swoop in and take what they can from the wreckage. However they are also trying to find each other: if they cut off the others eyes in the war before the other does them, their village can move first and claim a number of islands in their name. Thus these spies play at their own little shadow war amid the conflict, trying to find and kill each other amid the chaos, while staying out sight of the rebels or the Yagurists- either one would more than happy to take them both out so that whatever Kirigakure wins can recover properly.

Another minor faction are Coliseum slavers searching for lost kekkei genkai-born on the sea. They play on the fears of these often children of being killed by Yagura or being drafted into a war against him by lying to them that they are a way out to a better life, only make them slaves and be sent off to fight in the Coliseum for others amusement. If Yagurists find them both the slaver and the enslaved are killed- foolish is the slaver to think such a dangerous pet will not turn on them and thus must die for endangering others by prolonging the pets life with meaningless suffering. The Rebels if they find them will kill the slaver and free the kekkei genkai-born and offer them a place in the Resistance as a soldier or as a non-combat role often a genetic donor or scientists assistant, while still forcing them into the war; they are the one of the few in this conflict who will treat such kekkei genkai users with any form of respect. Some charity groups if they find such kekkei genkai users try to get them out of the Land of Water for real, while others regard Yagura's killing of them as an internal matter that would bias them.

Of course, normal pirates prowl the seas, bandits freshly deserted from Yagura's army and foreign rogue shinobi not affiliated with anyone all try to take advantage of the war for their own purposes, taking what they want or throwing themselves into battle, thirsty for a good fight. These vagabonds are killed on sight by the Yagurists, seeing them as just more rebels against the cause. The Resistance itself is willing to spare them if they cooperate and focus their efforts more on the targets they desire than civilians or hire the rogue shinobi if they can, but will get rid of these vagabonds if they prove more trouble than they're worth.

On the other hand there are charity groups, doctors that bravely venture into the war to heal whoever they can though often they have no medic nin knowledge and must heal them normally. Other provide refugee camps and supplies to civilians whose lives were destroyed in one way or another by the Kiri Civil War. These groups maintain a strict neutrality and impartiality, but shinobi are not known for honoring the sanctity of these things-if they find a wounded soldier of the other side being treated by them, its likely they will sneak into the middle of the night to kill them while everyone's asleep or wait until they treated and walk outside the camp to ambush them if they're feeling “letter of the rules” today. A rare few merciless evil shinobi consider such chakraless civilians to be beneath them and will simply kill anyone in their way because they are powerful enough to do so-whose going to stop them? Thus these humanitarian camps if they harbor such soldiers keep their very existence secret- doctor/patient confidentiality after all. Furthermore they make sure to keep patients from different sides in separate tents so that they don't try to kill each other, and will arrange the times they allow the soldiers to go be separate so they don't see the other even if it means “extending” their resting time a little. Bandits, pirates and the like simply don't care what these groups cause is and will strong arm them into taking their supplies or attack them regardless. Soldiers treated by such camps and grateful for their help will often protect them or speak out against violating them as they probably wouldn't be alive without their treatment on both sides of the war.

If there are unaffiliated Medical-nin in the war, they keep themselves secret. Any shinobi could be a potential spy for a foreign power, and Medic-nin are no less dangerous than any other ninja besides. Traveling rogue medic nin just wanting to heal people is a known cover for assassins playing on peoples sense of kindness and compassion. This makes both sides wary of them and likely to attack them. Medic nin with kekkei genkai while rare are in particular danger as the Yagurists care not how they use their talents, only that they die for being a threat to equality.

Spoiler: Hypothetical: The Konoha/Kumo Invasion

Of course in the event that either of these villages launch an invasion on Water in its weakened state, one fact holds true: the Land of Water has unmatched naval prowess. Its navy is the largest in the shinobi nations and the most-well trained and prepared by necessity. Konoha and Kumo while powerful are largely land-based powers. While they have navies of their own, they're not the bulk of their force as the first priority of these powers are having armies to defend against each other.

So while the invasion forces may have a core of true navy ships commanded by competent sailors used to this combat, a lot of them will probably be re-purposed merchant ships and barges purchased from those willing to part with them over the years, commanded and crewed by new recruits and carrying ashigaru, samurai and shinobi with little experience in fighting on the water and little knowledge of the lands they would be coming to conquer. To the Kiri Rebels this is basically fighting the Yagurists but with worse training and equipment, and the same tactics that work against them will probably against these forces to. The problem is that guerrilla tactics and asymmetrical warfare will drag out the conflict- that it what they were designed to do after all, and after the fatigue of fighting the Yagurists for years, they may not be able to withstand another conflict like that for long.

Meaning the real hope in such a scenario is if either the Yagurists or the Kiri Rebels can swiftly assassinate these navies high commands. Kill all the experienced veteran leaders in one fell swoop and the rest will fall into disarray. Of course Konoha and Kumo know of this weakness and plan to put their some of their best Jounin on those ships to protect their admirals, making such a plan dangerous regardless.

If that fails, well they can try again for a limited time but if they have no other choice, Kirigakure- either one- will have to unleash the Three Tailed beast upon these fleets ensure their swift victory. Yagura is certainly willing to do so if it comes to that, and the Kiri Rebels are certainly willing to manipulate him into doing so if he is still around. The Kiri Rebels will probably even seize upon the opportunity to catch Yagura off guard and take the tailed beast, ideally when the fleet is destroyed. The problem is whether Konoha or Kumo anticipate Kiri unleashing the Tailed Beast upon them, if they do then they could capture the Three Tails themselves, and take away one of the few trump cards they have. The Kiri Rebels may however see this as opportunity to hijack Konoha or Kumo's sealing attempt for themselves and if successful outplay both Yagura and their foreign enemies. The Yagurists on the other hand would probably plan a mission of a strike force to stop the foreigner's sealing and the Kiri rebels attempts to take it as Yagura attacks, planning on taking care of it before unleashing the Three Tails.

Of course this is all assuming one fleet Kiri's facing. If both are involved, the worst case scenario is that one is either behind the other or stays out of one attempt to swoop in to pick up the pieces. The best case scenario is that they arrive around the same time and encounter each other and thus begin fighting against each other, thus giving Kirigakure an opportunity to exploit to ensure both of their defeats. Would the Yagurists and Rebels ever team up for such a threat? Hahaha, no. It would be nice if the power of teamwork taught them to put aside their differences and make peace, but Yagura is a tyrant bent on genocide and the Kiri Rebels are the remnants of old nobility apart of a bloody system that once killed people for being weak, thats never happening. War never changes, and war is hell.

Igor. you did nothing wrong. you have real life concerns. those take precedent no matter what anyone's opinions on the game is. I did not intend to make you feel bad at all. anything aimed at your characters is not a reflection of you. separate fantasy from reality.

I'm just trying to keep this game afloat and active to a certain degree, because if I don't, this forum will eat it and there will be no game to come back to. the idea was that you'd come back sooner or later and Odayama and Usagi could be put back on the team if you were gone too long for us to wait for you.

you being doubtful about what to do instead actually doing things is not what I want. what I want, is for things to happen. because no posts means the game doesn't continue. whether or not your doing any of this right is a luxury we can't afford when we need to focus on making anything happen at all. boredom from nothing happening is infinitely worse than things happening. your roleplaying is fine, do not confuse IC criticism for what I personally care about. these characters not avatars of me, they do not speak my opinion. just because a character criticizes another character doesn't mean something is wrong with anyone's roleplaying, I'm just portraying the world as if its a living world and thus the characters treating events as if they are real, because its real to them, and thus criticize them because he is a person with an opinion.

like, if your character was a kumogakure ninja and mine was a konoha ninja and you killed that ninjas girlfriend mine would react with anger and seek revenge, because that is logically what would happen. same thing. though in this case it was honestly just a plan to make sure me and Rater can keep things active without waiting for you all the time until you could post. this is actually the better case scenario because it proves it was never needed. we can just continue roleplaying without taking Usagi and Odayama off. no need to change anything.

He was raised by Damiyo Tadano Tanaka, the Damiyo who were usurped from the Damiyo of Fire status because he became crippled.
His father's personal petty venedeta became so much more when Odokuro have gathered the Sound Ninjas, and inspired by him, Tadano has raised Raizu to be a worthy Damiyo- he never slept on a soft matress.
"You have citzens who dont have a matress at all" he was told.
He was fed just as his servants were outside of holidays and special occasions.
He was tutored all day, and he even trained in basic taijutsu.
Raizu is under constant pressure, but he is proud of it. He was raised to believe, being noble it means you get it HARDER then others, and luxuries are just tools to serve the greater good.

BTW, part of Raizu's concept is actually inspired by the royal family Romanov- their princes as children were raised on hard matresses, and had to call servants by honorifics, and also served public duties, even if somewhat ceremonial- so princesses visited injured soldiers and so on.
