I've checked the naruto wiki on soft body modification technique.

its listed as "hiden" and a ninjutsu, and the only ones who can canonically use it are those who have ties to Orochimaru and/or Konoha, but mostly Orochimaru. like they're all Orochimaru shinobi, but Mitsuki, Kabuto and Misumi are all Konoha shinobi at some point, so its pretty safe to say that soft body technique is a Konoha specific technique. there is no clan to it, but if its hiden that means its not something that shinobi of others would know. sorry but its probably something only Konoha shinobi can teach you Rater.

I obviously didn' do this on purpose, but Senko makes a decent foil for her. Senko hates unnesary killing and other than maybe intellectual theft is very ethical on her research.

At the same time, Jirou and Kikenna are trolling a stuffy old religious type, Senko is fighting a dangerous criminal.

This is really why I can't never fanboy enough Zabuza's arc.

Depending on how this goes, Senko might devote the effort into developing a proper transformation for the sake of enhanced screaming based attacks.

Edit: Apprently, in a filler arc of boruto Hashirama's cells can infect people and either put them into comas and cover them in wood or turn them into berserking monsters with stretchy arms.

Since all of Boruto's filler stuff is being carefully monitored by the author of the Boruto Manga, who is in turn operating with the full blessing of Kishimoto, I am not 100% convinced that I'm right about their being a connection between Wood Release and Jugo's bloodline.

So, Futility-san has clan Fukaimi's hearing without their stretchy earlobes, augmented by the ears of a Komoro, and now he has Paper Release.

He claims that what Senko is trying to do has already been done... Which implies that he has multiple chakras mixed into his own as well.

Honestly, the Clans should probably do an inventory to see if they're missing anyone or if any of their members were attacked and had blood or parts stolen recently.

And Senko's gonna want to handle the autopsy when he finally is killed for good.

I'm just working out the clans of Konoha right now. as well as coming up with more Konoha characters.

while some clans like the Uchiha or the Nara are easier to come up with things to write about, its going to be things like the Sarutobi, Hatake or Shimura clans that are going to be more of a puzzle (Yes, Danzo has a clan he comes from, its mentioned only in three chapters but he does) since we have little information on those.

but that also means I have three blank spaces to fill in, because aside from Sarutobi having hiden fire jutsu, thats basically what they are. which means grounds for all sorts of creativity.

Looking at all the stuff that's been attributed to Hashirama Cells, can I propose that there's a difference between "wood release" lower case and "Hashirama's power."

Becuase otherwise the world is gonna be overrun with God Tree offshoots and I'd be more comfortable if the super dangerous stuff that all the mad scientists want to screw with was a factor of Hashirama being some kind of freak than being an inherent factor of wood release.

You'll note that the only time anyone but Hashirama, Madara, or the Ten-Tails used Wood Release comparable to Hashiramas, it was a Zetsu that was wrapped around and feeding on the chakra of Yamato.

Things like absorbing chakra and suppressing the Tailed Beasts are still on the table, but not quite as much.

...Actually, I don't know if this was your intent but it would make sense to me if Paper Release was an offshoot of Wood Release: I mean, same elements. Ink and Paper can both be plant products(and paper usually is), and it does things beyond it's an element. The Senju all had Yang affinities in addition to their own power, but the right genes passing on a couple centuries ago into a branch family or bastard lineage could result in a "yin" form of wood release.

Senko would probably prefer Hashirama since it wasn't that long ago that he would have died so it'd be a matter of record that his powers were stronger and he had powers they didn't, but she'd be more than willing to settle on the weaker version.

Wood Release: No Rater. think lower than those guys. think using blades of grass as assassination weaponry from below. think producing any poison or medicine you want. think field rations you can grow on the spot. think every stick you ever saw being a potential murder weapon. think using flower pollen as way to attack people from the inside. you see a forest? the Senju see "omnidirectional plantmurder paradise".

Paper Release: yeah, that is kind of the idea, Paper Release is something like that pretty much, but I have technically said that they have an ancestor who was descended from Asura, the first paper release user called Padma Otsusuki/Kannon/Guan-yin and was renowned for being a scholar and medic who promoted education, helped the downtrodden and tried to preserve the chakra side of Ninshuu only for her to be cut down and the secret to be lost, to contrast the more cutthroat modern Ishikawa Clan and to pay homage to the canonical Konan who inspired the clan, but who knows? She might just be a mythical being made up to make their connection to the Sage stronger or she might be based on a real person who was an offshoot of Senju but then her story was changed to be more mythical. thats the problem with history: its not clear how true it is depending on who is telling the story.

He's the interesting thing: Depending on what's going on with Futility-san and how he's been copying bloodlines, Senko might end up with Paper Release if she can get a piece of Futulity-san to study... And she's currently out for blood.

(I don't remember if we talked about this, but as of right now I imagine it would involve turning into paper in a manner that is similar to be distinct and utterly incompatible with the advanced paper release techniques that involve turning into or generating paper from oneself and maybe generating ink that's charged with her bloodline powers)

And Wood Release is on her list of "must-have" powers, preferably from Hashirama(becuase I want to explore the possible relationship and the similarities) but she's not picky...

So if Paper Release is a specialized "yin" version of the normally Yang-Aligned Wood Release, what's a Yin-Yang version do?

(I imagine that, no matter how many bloodline powers Futility-san has, grafting his cells to Senko would only count as one "mod" as far as balancing her chakra would go. I'm also gonna rule that, for the time being, she can only use one Ear power at a time.)
