The purpose of this thread is to make custom cards for Magic, the Gathering. If you haven't heard of that, it probably won't appeal to you!

Each week, the current judge will post a challenge. You then need to make your very own magic card to fit that challenge. At the end of the week, the judge will select a winner, who becomes the judge for the next week.

Entries can be made at any time before the judging is posted.

In the event that a judge does not immediately post results on judging day, please allow them a 3-day grace period to post their results. If there are still no results 4 days after the judging day, anyone can announce a winner other than themselves.

Each entry must have at least a text representation of their card, in the following format:

Mana/tap symbols:
W - White mana
U - Blue mana
B - Black mana
R - Red mana
G - Green mana
C - Colourless mana (the new ◊ symbol)
1, 2, 3, etc. - Amounts of generic mana
T - The tap symbol
Q - The untap symbol
(W/R) or {W/R} - Hybrid mana
(W/P) or {W/P} - Phyrexian mana

Rarity symbols:
C - Common
U - Uncommon
R - Rare
M or MR - Mythic Rare
Un - Unglued

For example:

Saint Ayilen, the Lunarblade 2WW
Legendary Creature - Human Knight M
Lifelink
When Saint Ayilen, the Lunarblade dies, put a legendary 4/4 white Spirit Knight creature token with flying and first strike named Saint Ayilen, the Lunarblade onto the battlefield.

You may also post an image representation of your card if you wish, but make sure you also post the text version, in case of issues with hosting or image clarity.

When Soul of the Seasons enters the battlefield and at the beginning of your upkeep, it gets a Season counter. If it has four or more Season counters on it, instead remove all but one of them.

Soul of the Seasons has the ability corresponding to the number of Season counters on it: -

1 (Spring) - Whenever a creature you control attacks, create a 1/1 green Saproling creature token.

2 (Summer) - Creatures you control get +2/+2 and have trample.

3 (Autumn) - Whenever a creature you control dies, draw a card.

4 (Winter) - GG: Return target creature card from your graveyard to your hand.

This is indeed correct - it's the untap symbol as found on cards such as Gilder Bairn.

It functions like the tap symbol in reverse (effectively "untap this tapped permanent", and can't be used by a creature with summoning sickness).

The most fun entry. I love the cyclical buff idea. But could you get all that text on a card? (Also not sure if counter mechanic quite works as intended). Also not sure if it would ever survive to see the next spring, but hey.

A very unspringlike spring. Seems odd that other infected lands actually have better properties than the original. Maybe word it as "gain the abilities of Polluted Spring and lose all other abilities"? That's still a very strong, and unusual card I think.

It's certainly thematic too. 7 Life gain minimum, 2 new lands and a 4/4 from 1 card seems a very generous deal (Bulwark Giant is a good comparison) though I guess it's at rare. Hope you played Ageless Entity the previous turn.

Ostensibly useless, which I find strangely appealing. I think it's to repeat trigger 'enters the battlefield' effects and so get card advantage. Or do you have other plans? No idea if it's the right cost. I guess there are cards out there which mean the once per turn limit is a must... I couldn't find them, but would love to know.

I was hoping someone would make a goblin trampoline! I'm smiling as I type. The 2 cycle effect is seasonal as well but like brown sauce on cornflakes, for me the two parts didn't feel like they belonged together. +1 for flavour text.

Yeah, this didn't work at cost 3. I guess you mean creature not creator? If so, I think it's a perfectly cromulent addition to an artefact heavy deck with the potential to get a 3/3 in play early. Good one.

The Enchantments certainly relate to spring, but I couldn't see how they all synergise with each other. (C.f. say, Phyrexian scripture or Rite of Belzenlok). II and III do go together to be fair.

If I've read this right, it gives 1 extra land draw per turn if you still have non basic land in hand and basic in library. It seems a little limited, and slow acting, for the cost, but maybe it's not.

Kudos for not going for a green card. Allows you to pay for your 4/3 flyer in easy instalments, or threaten to. Simple and I'd imagine fairly effective.

I like the pun. The card is an interesting idea. It's vulnerable to the spirit getting killed of course, unless you can remove it from danger in time... having annoyed your opponent with it first. If nothing else there's a few cards that life loss and gain could pump. It's growing on me.

Thanks for also providing the context. So... the other players have got 3 turns to remove a 6/6 Black creature with trample before it comes to fruition. And that's assuming you don't have accelerated token removal or rearrangement. Cheap at the price I suspect, and one way or the other could easily decide a game on its own.
