Angis maneuvers around to land a strong strike on the fighter. Quinn on the other hand finds his attack deflected. Dorit lets out a powerful strike on both of her nearby enemies, causing the first one to recoil a little in surprise.

The injured fighter turns back to Dorit and strikes at her in retaliation, dealing 11 damage with his greatsword.

Aric tries to land a blow, but finds himself coming up short as his foe deflects the blade expertly.

The man hiding in the back finally comes into view of the party, moving to be behind his comrades. While he's remained on the back, he seems dressed in some kind of spectral armor that can be identified as an Astral Suit. He performs a spell quickly, causing Dorit to start to lose her vision, but she quickly shakes it off with no ill effects.

While Angis has no luck, Quinn barely manages to get a blow in on his foe, and then Dorit turns around and strikes both warriors with a single swing. The more injured one (E3) looks like he's barely standing at this point, but he still manages to land a hit as she moves past him, dealing 9 damage with his greatsword.

E3 tries to retreat so he can bandage up his wounds, but while he manages to safely disengage from Aric and Quinn, Angis has an opportunity to strike at him, and crits for 22 damage. This strike is both precise and deadly, as the man slumps against the wall, dead.

Aric now does something that surprises everyone. Now, everyone understands the tactical advantage of flanking. But Aric opens up with an attack sequence on E2 that is not too different in some respects with his flank partner Angis. But Angis is an advertised killer - a ninja and a weapons-focused ranger. Until now, Aric has shown pluck like a nobleman in standing toe-to-toe with these other worthies, but something about this attack sequence makes some a bit more curious.

The caster tries to retreat, but finds it hard to get out of reach of Dorit safely, and so attempts to cast a spell on her to weaken her, quickly blurting out a command at her. Angis launches over the body, past Aric, and closes on the caster. to perform a draw cut on his left under arm - cutting up to cut the tendons to the arm and catching the brachial artery from below, dealing 12 damage.

Quinn moves to acrobatically go around the caster on the outside and to end up behind him. He then attacks him with a studied strike, dealing 11 damage and dropping the caster.

Combat is over, what do you do?

Dorit comes out of her rage, fatigued, but performs a coup de grace on the caster before Quinn can moralize.

Which he doesn't seem prepared to do. The middle-aged man stares at the masked man who is standing where Angis was seconds before. "You! Red Raven! Aric? You mean it was you all this time? I hunted you through the streets of Absalom to answer for your crimes, and it was my old friend Aric the whole time!? No wonder he - you - seemed a step ahead."

Angis ignores the drama, always glad to have a competent swordsman on hand to help out. He loots the warrior.

Red Raven turns to Quinn. "I won't speak to your friendship with Aric. I am my own man, and I bring justice to those who have been denied it!"

Lyrie is fascinated, and walks up (carefully, in case this comes to blows). "You are the Red Raven? Mad props, man. I have some ex-associates who have fallen to your talons." She then loots the caster.

"You murder, and hide behind an aegis of 'but I only killed bad men' ... with no sense of whether or not your victims were definitely gui--"

"They were always guilty," Red Raven says with finality.

"I am honorbound to this mission," says Quinn, "but when this is done, we're done. Do not rest assured, when our professional partnership in protecting the people of the demesne has ended, I shall see you behind bars to swing for what you have perpetrated in the past. You don't get to hide a country or two away. Or what, justice doesn't find you, either?"

Angis, having looted the warrior looks at the quarrelers. "You done?"

Red Raven picks up his cold iron short sword, and sees his expended arrows are destroyed. Doesn't matter, simple arrows are for lesser men. Lesser men ... like Aric.

The party loots the bodies, collecting what can be carried easily, and then drags the bodies to a safe place. This takes about five minutes, give or take, and then the party takes the moment to regain their bearings. South of them is a Kitchen they previously investigated, and then more stuff further down the hallway that they have yet to look into. Their other option is to head back to the west (based on map) where they came from and go down the other direction of the T-Junction. This is the direction that the attack appears to have come from. What do the PC's decide on.

As far as loot goes, two potions of Cure Light Wounds, three more of those salves, two fighters had greatswords, one had a longsword and shield, all three had full plate armor. The caster had a scroll of Shield, and an Ioun Torch, that was for some reason stored in his pocket.

Quinn will take the salves. Red Raven will take the potions. Angis will take the ioun torch and activate it. Lyrie will take the scroll of shield.

The PCs will go in the direction the attack seemed to have come from.

The party returns the way they came, following the path that the enemy appears to have come from, and shortly afterwards reaches the junction where they fought their first fight. A bit of investigation upon reaching the junction shows that they had come from the path the party hasn't yet searched. Do you continue down this path?

About seventy feet down the hallway from the intersection the party finds a door on their left side. A quick investigation says that it is not trapped, but there is a fair amount of noise within the room. It does not sound like talking, and is more akin to combat with weapons. What do you do?

Does Quinn detect evil, or is the door to thick to even try?

Door is too thick to try. The doors and walls are all made from metal, and the metal is too thick to pierce it with that divination.
