Yes, many years of rebuilding their home remained. It was still a step closer to their dreams.

Jack Hammer took the lead, following the signal he picked up. Everyone followed. Some checked their own pipbucks to find the radio signal. When the group reached the small lake in the valley, they found a rust-covered device laying on the sand. Jack looked at the machine and checked it over.

"This is a really old radio. It seems like it was fixed recently."

Spike Armor frowned. "Fixed? By whom? There shouldn't be anyone else out here but us."

Everyone's pipbucks flashed a warning at the same time. Several red dots on the auto-map appeared nearby from the direction of the sickly trees and these dots were moving toward the group.

"Spread out!" Proserity command.
"We shouldn't make it easy for the enemy!"
She booped the doctor's muzzle, with almost comicly seriouse expriession for a boop. "Prepare to defend yourselves!"

She herself walking back slowly, her horn glow gathering magic.

"What enemy..?" Acacia asked.

Her answer crested over the far side of the valley. A group of ponies came galloping, clubs and guns waved in the air.

The team didn't delay. They listened to Prosperity and scattered. Shots fired from the attackers as they yelled and roared. Bullets hit the ground and kicked up dirt.

Doc and Bunsen ran back towards the Stable. Acacia was hit and the two stallions grabbed her. Jack hammer ran towards some trees, limping badly. The rest scattered in random directions.

Red Shield and Spike Armor pulled out their guns and fired back at the enemy.

"We'll buy everyone time!" Spike shouted.

Prosperity heard bullets wizz around her. The enemy were ponies, but they were skinny and looked sickly. Like they never took a bath in months.

Musical Prosperity were washed away at the face of the danger. Responsible Prosperity were on 100% right now.
Her mane flattened out, as she tried to force out the compassion she felt toward those mistable corrupted ponies. She felt a tiny irrational bit of guilt, for being healthy and even "thick" as he has misheard few teen ponies define her, compared to those raiders.
"They are sick and hungry, try to keep them live!" she commanded, can't grasp, that it was battle of survival, rather then stopping a riot.
Her horn glowed, her voice became loud, as once the Moon Goddess enjoyed to be.
"My Little Poor Ponies! Halt! We Are Here To Help!" using a spell to make sure she was heard.

Prosperity's words reach ears and cause the attackers on her to stop shooting. It also causes several ponies on her side to stop running; Spike, Red, and Acacia hold their ground.

Four of the dirty, scary-looking ponies that were chasing approach Prosperity with mad grins on their faces. The still have their weapons pointed at her, but they're not attacking anymore. One of them speaks up. "Well, aren't you a bossy one? Heh heh, but you know, we are pretty hungry. How much do you think you'd be worth on the slave market?"


The rest of Prosperity's team, Doc, Bunsen, and Jack, were still galloping and they were going back towards the stable, being chased by the other four attackers. They were probably too far to hear Prosperity's command.

Prosperity couldn't help but to feel pity.
They seemed like broken ponies. Something in this made stomach to tie itself, their sight made her sick.
Her worth in market? What THAT supposed to mean?
But she kept her assertive expriession.
Just like children. Showing weakness, even if this out of pity, might be a grave mistake.
And here, maybe Prosperity did a mistake in her judgement

She didn't trusted her charisma with such broken ponies, so she used magic.
"We will gladly share our food.' she said, while her horn glowed and she pointed at their leader.
"As long as you friends, instead of foes.'

The presumed earth pony leader shook his head, as if some outside thought bothered him. He glanced at his gang, then back to Prosperity. He was probably the most fed of the group. Tall and on the thin side, but not overly so that you could see ribs. He stepped closer, where now Prospi could see sand in his dull, rust-colored coat. The stallion let out a belly-laugh.

"Haha! I like this mare!" he declared out loud. His companions chuckled, but leered at the stable dwellers with creepy grins.

The stallion leader wrapped a foreleg around Prosperity as if they were friends. "You know what? I'm gonna take you up on that offer. Name's Max Karnage. This is my crew, the Styx Gang. We're gonna take you home and you can share your bounty with us. Heh heh, maybe tell us where you all came from. You're all dressed funny." Strangely, it seems like the spell didn't work.

The other stable dwellers remained silent, looking to Prosperity on what to say or do next? Should they go along with them? Flee?

Prosperity had to give them chance. Even if his touch and smell, made her cringe- but she kept it in.
Friendship.. it was magic. Wasn't it? Maybe this is how they will heal the land.
"I am Prosperity, an agriculture cultivator-" he rhorn glowed a bit, and roots from the ground moved to her command.
"And leader of this unit. We are here, to make a settelment and heal Equestira.' she has explained
"And we shall go with you. We are all ponies here.'

"Excellent! I'm glad you are a reasonable pony." Max motions to the three ponies in his gang here and they take the weapons from Spike and Red.

Spike is not happy about it. "How do we know you won't shoot us later?" One of the raiders hits Spike in the head with the back end of his gun. Spike falls to the floor with a groan. The raider picks him back up.

"There. Didn't shoot you," he says in a mean voice.

Max shrugs. "Now now, let's not rough them up. They are our guests." He laughs and escorts Prosperity's group up the far side of the valley. As they walk, the raiders take everyone's stuff. Tey do have one problem. They don't know how to remove the pipbucks.

"What is this thing?" one raider asks, pushing at the buttons of Spike's pipbuck. Spike pulls his leg away.

Prosperity has trained it in secret.
She seen her mother do this quite a lot as punishment.
The dark power of snarks.

She forced herself to smile, it was strange mixture of her both personas's darker "Rough? Eh?'-"[/COLOR] she pointed at her horn.
"you better remember you manners else I'll rough your flank harder then I roughed your mamma. Though she loved it. Who knows?' she shrugged.
"You might like it too.'

The raider stumbles back from Prosperity's threat. "Hey, I uh... um..." He rubs his head, feeling a headache suddenly appear.

Spike notices the trade of snarky words. The unicorn leans closer to Prosperity to whisper, "So, we just playing along for now?" He rubs his neck, pretending he didn't say anything so the raiders don't notice.


Up ahead there is a small cluster of small huts and shacks. It looks like a village built out of trash and surrounded with a wall of rusty wires and nails. Max is walking in this direction. One of the raiders whispers to him.

Prosperity can overhear the raider asking his boss Max if the ponies they captured are secretly monsters. Max doesn't think so, but he isn't sure where you are all from, so he plans to keep you all together and guarded.

When you walk into the little village, Max points around. "So! This is home. Um, that's my house, this is the place we eat... ah, we can have you all be our guests here in this little shack." He opens the rusty door to a small hut that is big enough for Prosperity's group, but it is dirty. There's two beds, with both matresses stained. There's a box with scrap metal piled in it, and three chairs in the corner that are taped together. The foor is mostly wood boards covered in old carpet they sewn together.

Acacia's ears fall as she looks disgusted. Red and spike are paying attention to the other huts, trying to see if anyone else is around.

"Oh, we wouldn't want to strain your limited resources.' Prosperity said with a slight bow. "Why don't we share histories? I... never imagined there were anypony alive."

"Is she for real, boss?" whispered one of the raiders.

Max scratched his head. "Yeah, uh... sure, sure. We can chat over a can of beans in a bit. But first, we need to clean up the kitchen a bit. You know, since you're all unexpected company. You all just sit tight in here and I'll come get you in a bit."

The raiders shove everyone into the room and close the door. You distinctly hear some kind of 'click' on the door, then the movement of hooves leaving. Spike gallops at the door and slams into it. He bounces off.

"OwWw, thaT's stuRdier thAn I thOught..." Spike moans in pain.

"They're definitely not from a stable," Red Shield spoke up. "Did... did ponies survive outside the stable you think?"

Acacia shook her head. "I don't know." Acacia pushed at the bars over the window that prevented her from getting out.


Only a few minutes pass when the sounds of gunfire start up again. Screams quickly join in the noise, and then the loud BANG of something mental bursting. Outside the one window, there was two large fires--Max's hut and the kitchen building were both on fire. The raiders were fighting another group--bigger furry creatures with curved horns and armor made of metal scrap hammered together.

Just then, something banged against the door to your hut. Something big was trying to break in.

"Prosperity, you got a plan?" Spike asked. "Should we fight it?"

"We could try breaking the bars on the window if we work together," Red suggested.

"We need to get to our tools." she nodded.
"Let's break out. No way we are staying here, during such chaos.'

To the pony who handling the break out, she place a supporting hoof. "You can do this.' in authorative tone, with unwavering confidence, he can, no.. WILL do more then his best.'

Red Shield grabs the bars of the window. Spike helps her. "Okay, on three!"

In maybe two seconds, the inspiration from Prosperity and the teamwork broke the bars off. Red shield helps move everyone out the window. In on time the group can get out before whatever at the door even knows it.


Outside, the little junk village is burning down. A few raiders are lying dead on the ground, with a lot of blood loss. Among them is an unusual dead creature-- a goat-like creature, with horns and strange armor. Two of the dead raiders have bats that could be used as weapons if the party wants to grab them. The sound of fighting is coming from the direction of where Max's hut is. In the other direction, maybe the party could escape out?

Inside Prosperity were terrified. This was much more, then crunching numbers, or scolding fellow stable dwellers.
It was life and death situation.
And she was responsible for HER ponies. This decision will haunt her.
"Lets find our friends. First thing is to regroup .'
Yes. They had guards. But their experience at best included few scuffles, and a lot of theoretic training. They weren't prepared for a conflict of this scale.
Of course, if she was alone, she would have joined the battle anyway.

But at the very least the father of her children should live. And the other ponies she is in charge of.
Others might notice, but Doc might see she is full if doubts

Prosperity has made a decision, and her ponies follow her. They manage to get to the edge of the ruined settlement before they're spotted. Two large creatures get in their way. The creatures stand on two legs and have dog-like faces. Each raise big clubs at Prosperity's team and then run at them.

The two guards, Spike and Red run at them to fight back. Acacia panics and starts running back in the other direction back towards the settlement.

Prosperity yell after Acacia"Stop! We got to stick together!"
She didn't had time to ponder, but it was also a decision- she didn't chased Acacia.
She stayed.
Prosperity went forward. "Red! Aim for the knees! No matter what are they, it supposed to halt them!" And touched him, not yet facing directly the fight, but she *lead* them.
"Spike! You have trained for this! You can do it!" Her mane curled up, her superstar charisma sipping in

Red and Spike charge into the enemy. They hit hard and the two dog-like creatures fall to the ground with a loud thud. They try to get up and attack the two unicorn guards. One lands a hit with claws at Red, but the other misses Spike.

Acacia is too panicked to stop, she keeps running off.

"Red!" Prosperity gasped, forgetting about Acacia.
Her pupils shrinked. It felt unreal.
Blood. Blood spilled from somepony of her world.
Yes. They had trained, and sort of prepared for it. But it felt... unreal. Spilling Blood wasn't part of the world. Her world.
For a moment she stood frozen. She didn't wanted to be here.

Memory of her mother losing it, hit her.

The Overmare mumbled numbers in panic, and yelled about "cutting short unnecary ponies"

Prosperity was a very skilled pony, but she couldn't think right now, what action would be most benefical. Her sharp mind revreted to primal survivalist set of mind. She just want the monster away. Away!
"Leave us alone!" She screamed, and charged toward the dog monster who hurt Red, lowering her horn. Her Most primal weapon, and not the most effective.
"Get up Red! We need you!" She screamed from all of her heart.

Prosperity's horn stabs the creature. It wasn't deep, but it hurt just enough that the creature stopped attacking Red Shield for a moment. Red leaped forward and slammed into it, knocking it out with a firm kick of her hooves. Spike kicked the other doc creature and it fell over unconscious as well.

Red is limping. "Maybe you should both go on ahead. I might slow you down. I could... maybe look for Acacia?"

Spike looks around, then points to the direction of the valley. "Acacia could be caught by those monsters. We should make a run for the Stable."

Buck!
BUCK! Prosperity were always too dignified to swear. Even in her thoughts.
Time was pressing and what ever she decide will judge ponies to life or death.

She could see how her mother lost it.
"We are all going to the stable-TOGETHER." She said firmly. "Red, you are coming with me, to get the others. Spike, gallop and bring the idiot safely to the stable as soon as possible."
Another decision. Another regret for later.

"You got it!" Spike says. He races off to grab 'the idiot'. That nickname will probably stick.

Red stays with Prosperity as told. "Alright, guess it's you and me. Lead the way."

If Prosperity will discover it, she won't regret THIS part at all.

Prosperiy has galloped searching for their friends.
""Bunsen! Jack! DOC!!!" she yelled with her whole throat, trying to peek at the pipbuck.

Prosperity and Red cross the valley. Behind them, black smoke rises from the burned remains of the raider village.

The two ponies reach the cave where their home lies. They can see blood on the ground in several places. There's torn clothes caught on a sharp rock. The worst part, is that the control box to open the Stable door appears to be broken. No sign of the three missing stallions either. There was a fight here. Did something happen to them?


Ooc: You can roll Investigation to look at the scene, or Survival to find tracks. An Intelligence check if you want to look at the damage to the door's control box. Lots of options to pick from.

"Mother?' pre teen Prosperity has asked as she stepped carefully into the room.
The golden coated middle aged pegasi marez ruffled her silver mane, while her eye twitched. "The numbers doesn't add up... they doesn't...'
Prosperity with worry stepped deeper into the headmare's control room.

Her mom looked bad. Twitching eye, and twitching wing which kept perking and folding, like an injured and scared worm.

"Mother...?' Prosperity tried to call her again.
The headmare jumped in sudden move, making Prosperity to gasp.
She looked at the screens of the control pannel.
"There is no choice... I must even the numbers..."

"Mother?" Prosperity tried again to no avail.
The filly sighed. She hated admitting that her mother deeply in heart, viewed motherhood as a secondary task.
The unicorn filly took a deep breath, and raised an authority and assetivness she imagined to have.
"HEADMARE RESPONSBILITY! EXPLAIN WHAT ARE YOU DOING?"
It felt so wrong to treat her parent and leader like that. But something has to be done!
"Something has to be done!" The headmare finally responded.
The screen pointed at the infimary where the mare Cougar Launch craddled her newborn baby.
Launch was a controversial mare to say the least. And rumors said, that the father of the baby was her nephew.
"About.. what?' Prosperity has asked.
Yes, it was scandalouse. But what a headmare could do about a scandalouse mare? She seemed to be happy to embrace motherhood. Isn't it all what important?

"The collapse of our Stable! The eventual starvation! Genetic plague!" The jeadmare who happened to her mother yelled.
Prosperity couldn't fathom the connection between the headmare's words and the scene of a new mother(even if older then most bew mothers) craddling her baby.
"The numbers! They don't add up!" She pointed at other screen which presented calculations of population control, genetic diversity, resource spreading and the such. The results were colored red with the conclusion:
"HIGH PROBALITY FOR DOOM IN 213.7 YEARS."

Prosperity couldn't understand the calculations. It The Headmare managment program was an ancient wonder, programed by Dawn Star hersrlf.

Of course, the program wasn't updated or bug cleaned for centuries.

"So... what are you going to do?' Prosperity has asked, more worried about the effect, those mysteriouse numbers had on her mother, rather the numbers themselves.
"To even the numbers." Responsbility has explained with a grim smile, as her eye twitched more and more.
She pressed a button, and behind Cougar Launch's back, a magic fry ray gun apeared at the corner of the room.
Prospeirty wanted to panic. Yell and demand explanations. But even as filly she could understand the equation that in her mother's supposely rational mind- less poniesto manage are less troubles to manage.
But it was wrong! Her mother will regret it! But to reason with her seemed silly- if she was reasonable, it wouldn't gotten here in the first place! And there is no time! The ancient weapon has already charged!
Prosperity connected her pipbuck to the computer, and added more and more numbers to what seemed like the "good part", until the result turned from red to green.

"Headmare! You must look! There has been miscalculation!"
Responsbility looked at the screen. Prosperity prayed to Celestia, that her mother won't look deeply into it.
She didn't. "Oh.. dear. What I almost have done?' And shut down the gun, and folded it back into the wall. Launcher turned her head back, confused and shrugged.



Prosperity wanted to panic. This would be so releasing. To give into the terror- the responability would be a problem for.. a pony who isn't her.

But Prosperity just took a deep breath, only hint for tears have rebelliously apeared in the corner of her eyes.
"I'll search for clues. You, search for tracks.' She ordered, and started to look and search, and tried to use the pipbuck

Prosperity can tell that the torn clothes were Stable jumpsuits, like the ones worn by Doc, Jack, and Bunsen. The door's control box was broken by stray bullets. The blood she's not sure of. Could be anyone's.

Red speaks up. "Looks like bodies got dragged off in that direction. Towards the west. The hoof prints seem to be from big goats, like the ones we saw at that raider camp."

"Well then..." Prosperity took a deep breath. She wanted to panic. But even more then that she wanted Doc to tell her that everything will be fine.
"We have to find them.' she said decisively
